Decorating the veranda and porch inside the design. Decorating the veranda inside and outside with your own hands Finishing materials for the inner walls of the veranda

The modern country house is designed to provide best conditions living in it. At present, all conditions have been created for this - an abundance of design solutions in housing construction, a lot of traditional and new proven materials.

One of the elements of private buildings is currently a terrace - in whole or in part open area equipped with a roof. It allows you to fully feel like a part of nature, practically without leaving your home. What materials and in compliance with what requirements can be used to decorate the terrace, and will be discussed in the future.

Structurally, an extension to the house, called a terrace or veranda, is a podium raised above the ground on one of the types of foundations, and a roof made of any material, resting on several supporting beams. According to the design option, such structures are subdivided into:

This species is good when located on the leeward sunny side. Due to the absence of fences, there are practically no boundaries between the veranda and the surrounding space. It is better if the floor height of such a structure is low. This is especially true when living in country house children.

This option requires minimal construction costs. And finishing the veranda will not require large expenses. But it is necessary to impose maximum requirements on its quality, since the structural elements will be under the constant influence of excessive moisture, frost, winds, and temperature extremes.

Such a terrace retains its airiness and openness, but ensures high safety for households and their guests. The main difference from the previous version is the presence of fences made of timber, in the form frame structure from lumber, as well as from blocks or bricks, followed by finishing the walls of the veranda from the outside and from the inside.

Due to the lack of complete isolation from the atmosphere, the operation of structures of the first and second types is possible only in the warm season. It is impossible to insulate them with high quality due to the design features, and it is quite difficult to completely protect the visitors of such a terrace from the wind and raindrops flying inside.

This type is most suitable for year-round use as an additional room. Even in winter cold weather closed from wind and frost, you can enjoy hot tea, admiring the beauty of nature. At the same time, it is better to combine the interior decoration of the veranda with the insulation of all its walls. This will minimize the cost of heating the house as a whole.

The manufacturing process of the described structures is not complicated and is quite accessible with your own hands, as is the decoration of the veranda inside or outside. Since the topic of the article assumes a more detailed acquaintance with the second part of the work, we will consider them, focusing on possible options, their features, advantages and disadvantages.

Currently, the veranda is lined from the inside using the following materials:

  1. wooden lining;
  2. plastic panels;
  3. MDF panels;
  4. cement plaster and cement-based artificial stone.

A classic option is the use of natural wood materials for decorating the walls not only of the interior of the house, but also of the outbuildings. The lining is distinguished by its good appearance, ease of installation and low requirements for the quality of base preparation.

It is mounted on a lathing made of 40x40 mm bars using special fasteners - clamps, which grip the panels by the groove and securely fix them. Finishing parts can be located vertically, horizontally or at an angle to the floor.

For exterior decoration, sheathe the veranda only by installing the lining parallel to the soil with the ridges up to prevent the accumulation of water in the grooves.

Also a fairly common option. It is better to trim the veranda with such panels. closed type... In this case, temperature drops are less sensitive for the material, which contributes to an increase in its service life.

Unlike wood-based materials, plastic is practically not afraid of water. Modern retail chains offer many options for both color and textured design of plastic panels.

Installation plastic trim easier than wooden. Thanks to the large width of the panels, the process is faster.

It is convenient to fasten trim parts to the lathing using a construction stapler, driving the staples into a wide shelf along the edge of the products. Plastic panels do not require further finishing of paintwork materials, they are well washed with a damp cloth, dust does not settle on them.

Another common finishing material for internal works- MDF panels. Like the previous version, they are characterized by a large working width, which allows the sheathing to be carried out quickly enough. For fastening to a crate made of wood, clamps are used, similar to those used when installing a wooden lining.

Due to the large number of colors that imitate natural wood, stone and even leather, such an interior decoration of the veranda will have a very high-quality appearance. With all the advantages, MDF has a significant drawback - very low moisture resistance. In this regard, it is better not to use them for decorating open terraces. Otherwise, additional protection will be required in the form of varnishing on all sides of the panels.

In the case of using cement-containing building materials for the manufacture of a terrace - blocks with one or another filling, or bricks, it is better to trim the walls with mixtures or details that are similar in composition.

Please note that gypsum-based plaster and artificial gypsum stone are not suitable for covering the walls of open verandas.

Often home owners are stopped by the high cost of cement finishing materials. At the same time, it is not difficult to make the required amount of the original artificial stone on your own in a home workshop. By adding aniline dye, you can get a unique interior in the finished room.

As already noted, the materials listed above used in decoration interior space verandas have certain disadvantages that limit their use. In recent years, more and more external walls and the roofs of the terraces are covered with polycarbonate - an artificial transparent material that allows you to get a closed space while maintaining visual contact with the surrounding nature.

There are two main types of this plastic - honeycomb and monolithic. The first is distinguished by its minimum weight, high light transmittance, durability, therefore it is often used for roofing terraced roofs.

The second in its properties is close to real quartz glass, but unlike it does not have such a high fragility. This determined its use in vertical frame structures - windows, doors, transparent walls.

Modern manufacturers are not limited to the production of colorless sheets. To create a soft shadow, we recommend using green, blue, red, yellow honeycomb polycarbonate for the roof. You can combine several colors, giving the whole design brightness and originality.

The wall cladding of the veranda with cellular polycarbonate is quite affordable for doing it yourself. To work, you need a minimum set of tools:

  • cutting knife - any construction knife will do;
  • screwdriver.

Polycarbonate installation technology involves the following list of works.

The installation of cellular polycarbonate on the roof of the terrace is carried out in the same way. If there is a ridge - the junction of two roof slopes, use a special ridge profile sold in organizations selling sheets.

In the absence of experience in cutting, cutting sheets to the required dimensions can also be performed by workers of construction bases.

As follows from our review, the amount of materials for cladding terraces is enough to make a unique structure. Before decorating your veranda with any of them, carefully study all the features of operation in a particular case.

Work outside

Choosing how to sheathe the veranda outside, you need to focus on appearance at home, otherwise the room will stand out from the overall picture. Versatile materials can be combined with almost anything. They are called universal:

  • tree;
  • plastic;
  • stone and brick.

Wood

Wood is difficult to work with. This material deteriorates quickly without proper care. Its positive aspects include the following features:

  1. Attractive appearance, which is achieved due to the variety of textures.
  2. Thanks to the tree, you can implement veranda projects in any style. From old Russian, decorating the corners of the room with carved pillars, to modern Art Nouveau with little processed wood surface. It looks great with glass, stone, brick, wood and wrought iron.
  3. Environmental friendliness.

The disadvantages include:

  1. High susceptibility to atmospheric phenomena. Various impregnations and coatings protect against influence environment but do not guarantee complete veranda protection. In addition, procedures to protect the tree will have to be done regularly, which takes time and effort.
  2. Wood is a fire hazardous material.
  3. Financial component. The tree is expensive. Add to that the cost of regularly maintaining your boards and you get a pretty hefty amount.

Bricks and stones

Usually, not the entire veranda is made of stone or brick, but only the foundation and several pillars that support the roof of the structure.

Consider the positive aspects:

Cons of material:

  1. Stone and brick are expensive materials.
  2. They do not go together with wooden houses, which can be a problem if you are building a veranda in the country.
  3. Labor intensity of construction.

Plastic

Plastic is one of the most popular materials. Its pluses include:

  1. Low price.
  2. Ease of operation and installation of cladding.
  3. Durability and weather resistance. High-quality plastic can withstand extreme heat and frost.
  4. High sound absorption and excellent thermal insulation properties.
  5. The material is able to withstand high loads.
  1. Under the influence of the sun and temperature changes, the material loses its decorative properties over time.
  2. This is an artificial material.

Interior arrangement of walls

The interior decoration of the veranda is carried out with the following materials:

  • lining;
  • decorative plaster;
  • PVC panels;
  • MDF panels.

They all have their own installation specifics.

Lining

Interior decoration of the veranda with clapboard is a classic design option.

For the veranda, a standard thin lining of 5-10mm is usually used. Typically, this is a board made of wood, wood products, or plastic. There are differences depending on the profile. Distinguish:

  1. Standard profile. The variant features beveled edges that create noticeable gaps between the panels.
  2. Calm. Differs in relatively soft transitions, due to the small corner of the seam of the edges.
  3. Europrofile. After the coating is assembled, it forms a certain pattern.

The boards are connected using a special system consisting of tenons and a groove. But keep in mind that working with the clapboard is very difficult. Wooden panels shrink or swell, and plastic ones are not so whimsical.

The following tools are required for installation:

  • screwdriver;
  • kleimers (special metal latches).

The lining can be located horizontally or vertically. You can also try to install it at an angle. It depends on your skill, imagination and the characteristics of the room. And one more tip - do not try to squeeze the spikes into the grooves all the way.

Decorative plaster

To decorate the veranda from the inside, plaster is often used. This is a mixture that, after being applied to the wall, turns into a finished coating. There is a huge variety of different coatings:

  • plaster, which contains colors to give the walls the desired color;
  • plaster imitating stone;
  • Venetian, which repeats the texture of marble.

The appearance of the veranda also depends on the technique of applying the material. Different results can be achieved simply by using a little more plaster or by doing different types strokes. In addition, with the help of plaster, you can create sgraffito - stucco paintings on the walls.

MDF and PVC panels

MDF-panels (Medium Density Fibreboard) - wood fibers, which were obtained in the process of processing solid wood blocks. After that, the chips are pressed under high pressure and temperature. The veranda can be sheathed with slabs up to 10 millimeters thick. The finished block has the following qualities:

  • has high sound absorption rates;
  • tolerates high and low temperatures;
  • easy to use.

But the material also has a minus - it reacts poorly to moisture (swells and disintegrates). If condensation often appears in the veranda, MDF panels will not work.

For the convenience of work, several formats of MDF panels are made:

  • separate sheets;
  • lining, etc.

It is enough to fix them to the wall with screws.

PVC panels are a material that is made of polyvinyl chloride. It's very comfortable. Since the panels are plastic, they can be bent to fit any room shape.

PVC panels have the following positive aspects:

  • light weight;
  • high indicators of stability in contact with water;
  • resistance to high temperatures;
  • low cost.

But there is also a minus - in the cold, the material cracks. So if the winters are harsh and the temperature often reaches -15, it is better not to use PVC panels in an unheated veranda.

If you will do all the work yourself, it is advisable to choose a material with pins and grooves for quick installation. The process is as simple as with MDF.

For installation, special fasteners are involved. And you need to screw the panels with a screwdriver. In order not to damage the material, perform the operation on low power... If you bought a set ready for installation, then you can do without a screwdriver at all, doing only with clamps and screws.

Beautification of ceilings

The ceiling is the part of the structure that carries the greatest load. It is constantly exposed to moisture due to seasonal rainfall, and in winter it must also support the weight of snow. Finding the right material is not easy. It must be at the same time: durable, lightweight, moisture resistant.

Two materials meet these parameters:

  • polycarbonate;
  • weaving.

They are easy to install and require little maintenance.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a transparent modern material. It is very similar to glass, but spared its disadvantages. In particular, polycarbonate is durable and very lightweight.

It has several types:

  1. Monolithic. It is a solid material produced in the form of plates. It looks like glass. It can withstand loads stably, therefore it is better suited for the roof.
  2. Cellular. Inside, this polymer has a honeycomb division. It is less transparent, but has the same high light transmittance. Such polycarbonate retains heat noticeably better and is much lighter than its monolithic counterpart.

Polycarbonate can be transparent or colored. It is easy to fix the material. To do this, create a frame on which you want to install the sheets. They are fastened with galvanized self-tapping screws with thermal washers to prevent leakage.

Weaving

If you want an original ceiling on the veranda, then the cheapest alternative design solutions can become a braided version. Outwardly, it looks like the walls of a basket, but it looks stylish. Usually they use for weaving:

  • thin moisture resistant plywood;
  • veneer.

The installation procedure in the house is quite simple:

  1. Saw the sheet into several even strips. To do this, you can use a machine so that the cuts are neat, otherwise the weaving may be fragile.
  2. On the flat surface weave the canvas. Weave in a checkerboard pattern, using a rubber mallet to tap the protruding edges.
  3. Hide the "tails" of the stripes from the seamy side of the weave.
  4. Since the structure is quite heavy, it is impossible for one person to lift it. To make it easier to work, use the ropes brought along the edges. It is better to lift from the side of the doors.
  5. You can fasten the material with slate nails.

Install skirting boards to hide the joints. For greater aesthetics, cover it with varnish.

Flooring

The final chord in the design of the veranda is the choice flooring... The options can be as follows:

  • terrace board;
  • tile;
  • rubber;
  • linoleum;
  • cement.

To finally make a choice, think about whether you will walk barefoot or in shoes on the veranda. In addition, carpet or carpet can be laid on the floor in the veranda.

Terrace board

Decking is essentially processed lumber. This is a three-layer construction:

  1. Bottom layer. This is a cover with ventilation slots.
  2. Middle layer. There are cavities here that allow the wood to expand without deforming the overall structure.
  3. Upper. This is the face of the board, so it is smooth.

This material has many advantages:

  • the board is easy to mount;
  • the floor is not much different from wood;
  • the coating is durable and heat-absorbing.

So that the floor does not deteriorate, it is better to give preference to boards that are varnished. Installation must be done on a frame with lag transmission. Moreover, the logs must be placed perpendicularly with an interval of 40-60 cm. After that, the board can be fixed. It is better to use nails or screws as a retainer.

Tile

The slab is a difficult material to install. But the difficulties justify themselves, since the tile has the following positive qualities:

  • it is shockproof;
  • easy to clean and withstands rainfall;
  • differs in a variety of design.

Tile installation is carried out according to the following steps:

  1. First, the surface needs to be leveled.
  2. Then the screed is carried out.
  3. Preparation of materials. You will need special tile adhesive.
  4. The tile is leveled. Between the corners, you need to install special crosses in order to align the dimensions of the seams.
  5. Then mask the joints with a special grout. If grout gets on the tiles, don't worry. It will be washed off the surface, but will remain in the gaps.

But there is one difficulty - cutting. This must be done if the room has non-standard dimensions. This operation is almost impossible to do without a tile cutter, although you can try to replace it with a grinder.

Linoleum

If the classic wall decoration in the veranda is clapboard, then for the floor - linoleum. The coating is made of polyvinyl chloride in combination with polymers. The advantages of the material include:

  • waterproof (but only if attached in one piece);
  • impact resistance and wear resistance;
  • ease of installation and maintenance;
  • huge assortment;
  • low cost.

Even a non-professional can do the editing of the material. The main thing is that the floor surface is sufficiently flat. Next, you need to roll out the roll, align it and fix it near the baseboard. If the linoleum has been cut, individual sections can be held together using a special strip. But due to the fact that the material passes cold, you need to use insulation.

Rubber

The rubber covering is the rubber used to cover the floor. On the market, it is represented by slabs or monolithic blocks. Of the positive aspects of the material, one can single out:

  • impact resistance;
  • absolute waterproofness;
  • resistance to temperature changes;
  • phenomenal durability;
  • a wide range of design solutions.

It is important here that the floor is level. To connect the plates together, you need polymer glue.

The installation procedure is similar to working with ordinary tiles. But in this case, crosses are not needed, because the plates fit more tightly. If rolled rubber is used, the joints are sealed with a soldering iron or a hot air gun.

Cement mixtures

You can decorate the floor in the veranda in a standard way using cement. Despite the banality, the option remains the most labor-intensive. At the same time, such a floor can be laid even on monolithic foundation... As a result, you will get coverage that is different:

  • shock resistance;
  • waterproof;
  • resistance to temperature changes.

It does not require careful maintenance. True, after cement mix installed, it needs to be polished to a shine with a special machine.

There are many other versions of finishing materials such as OSB slabs or self-leveling floors, but all of them are in less demand among consumers.

The choice of material for finishing the walls of the veranda

The materials chosen for the veranda walls must meet practical and aesthetic requirements. A feature of their choice is the lack of heating in the closed extension and the serious impact of climatic conditions on the structure of the open veranda. Therefore, the material used for decoration should not only be visually attractive and match the design, but also withstand the sun exposure, high humidity and temperature fluctuations.
Veranda wall cladding can be done with many finishing materials that are used for indoor and outdoor work:

  • Wooden lining. It belongs to the classics of the genre, as it is the most popular material for wall cladding due to its environmental friendliness, excellent appearance and pleasant aroma exuded by natural wood.
  • Plasterboard sheets (gypsum plasterboard). For verandas, their moisture-resistant version is suitable. Such products differ from ordinary gypsum boards in their in green... The material is environmentally friendly, easy to install and easily processed in numerous ways. It can take almost any shape, and this is important when decorating walls. This cladding is used in closed verandas.
  • MDF panels. This material imitates natural wood. It is quite durable, but a humid environment is not for it. Therefore, MDF can be used for wall cladding of a closed veranda.
  • PVC panels. It is durable and inexpensive moisture resistant material. It is represented by a rich assortment of all kinds of shades and colors, it can have a different texture, it is very easy to work with and not particularly whimsical to care for. Suitable for wall cladding of any type of extension.
  • Siding panels. They are practical and affordable. They often imitate wood and come in a variety of colors. The material does not lend itself to decay, is resistant to temperature extremes and fire, easy to clean and durable. Most often used for exterior wall decoration on the veranda.

Preparatory work before finishing the walls on the veranda

If the veranda has glazing, it is better to finish its walls after installing thermal insulation under the windows. In this case, the room can be used almost until the onset of frost.
To insulate a closed veranda, you can use mineral wool or foam. To begin with, waterproofing should be fixed on the walls; you can take a moisture-proof plastic wrap as it. It fits with an overlap of 150-200 mm, the joints of the canvases must be glued with metallized tape.
After that, it is necessary to install the crate on the walls. Material for her can serve wooden bar pretreated with an antiseptic. The cross-section of the timber should be selected according to the thickness of the insulation, and the size of the lathing cell should correspond to the width of the insulation.
Then the insulation, in particular mineral wool, should be packed in waterproof material and placed in the crate cells. Wrapping the insulation will keep it dry and keep it functional for many years.
After that, on top of the insulation, a foil membrane should be fixed on the crate and its joints should be glued with tape. In the process of insulation, it plays the role of a heat-reflecting screen. On this, the thermal insulation of the walls can be completed.

Veranda wall decoration technology

Having chosen how to sheathe the walls on the veranda, you can start decorating them. Below we will consider several of its options.

Decorating the walls of the veranda with PVC panels

This method of decoration is inexpensive, but it can make an ordinary room cozy and interesting. The panels are not afraid of high air humidity and sudden changes in its temperature - they are not capable of causing deformations of this material. Installation of panels is easy and straightforward.
The disadvantage of the material is its fragility, although at present it is possible to purchase "armored" panels, the cost of which will be twice as much as usual. Therefore, after installing such a cladding, you should carefully move chairs to it or lean on the wall. To minimize the risks, there is such a construction trick: the first plank of the sheathing of the panels is mounted at the knee level, the second at the pelvis, and the third at the shoulder.
The frame for plastic panels is made of wooden slats or a profile that is used when installing gypsum boards. The slats can have a section of 30x10 or 30x20 mm, before use they should be treated with an antiseptic.
The fastening of the battens should be carried out perpendicular to the installation of the panels. For example, if the plastic on the wall needs to be placed vertically, then the slats for fixing it should be stuffed horizontally on the wall, the step between them should not exceed 50 cm.
After making the lathing in the corner of the room, you need to fix the mounting corner or starting profile with screws or nails. The corner will allow you to dock the panels with each other. The starting profile is installed if the adjacent wall will be sheathed with another material. A plinth fixing strip must be installed on the ceiling.
The first panel is inserted into the guide profile with a tenon in the direction of installation. Then it must be fixed on the crate using a self-tapping screw with a press washer. Then the spike of the next PVC panel must be firmly inserted into the groove of the previous one and secured. All other cladding panels are mounted in the same way.
Due to the fact that plastic has thermal expansion, a gap of 20-30 mm should be left at the bottom and top of the wall to compensate for it, masking it with a plinth.
Important! Panels with a pattern for wall cladding are installed from left to right. Plain color panels can be installed from either side.

Decorating the walls of the veranda with MDF panels

This material is quite popular among adherents. self-finishing... MDF panels are stronger than plastic, but not resistant to moisture. Therefore, they should only be used on closed verandas.
The process of installing MDF panels is similar to the previous one. Only in this case, their fastening is made using metal special devices - cleats, which are fixed to the material with small nails or a construction stapler. This must be done through a guide, it will prevent damage to the edge of the panel.

Decorating the walls of the veranda with clapboard

Clapboard is a wooden board with a thickness of up to 22 mm, which has special grooves, with the help of which the installation and joining of cladding elements is carried out. If the material is treated with an antiseptic, its service life can be extended up to 20 years.
According to the production method, the sheathing board can be solid or spliced. In the latter case, pieces of quality wood are joined together in a special way. Such products do not have flaws in the form of knots or cracks, but are not suitable for covering the walls of an open veranda.
The reason for this is the formation of high humidity cracks in the joints of the board, which spoil the appearance of the finished cladding. The most expensive lining is almost always spliced. It has a class "extra", and products of classes A, B and C are made from solid wood.
Before finishing the walls on the veranda with a cladding board, the material must be left for adaptation in a closed room for several days, and then the lining must be treated with a protective compound. Mounting the board on the walls of the veranda is similar to installing PVC and MDF panels.
There are several ways to attach it:

  1. The simplest of these is fastening using galvanized nails. In this case, they are driven in along the center of the planks, and the caps are sunk into the wood using a punch.
  2. Fixing the sheathing board with self-tapping screws is more laborious, but the attachment points are not visible. A hole is drilled in the board from the side of its thorn, which has a depth of about 10 mm. The diameters of the drill and fastener heads must match. Then the bar is screwed to the batten rail, and the screw is sunk into the hole and closed with a dowel from above. The place of the fastener is then sanded.
  3. The board can be fixed to the battens with mounting brackets. For this, a pneumatic or mechanical construction stapler is used.
  4. Another way is fasteners wood paneling clays. In this case, it is first attached to the rear wall of the mounting groove of the first strip. Then it is fastened with nails to the wall and only then the kleimer is fixed. The same kleimer is installed on the second board, its spike is inserted into the groove of the previous plank and the kleimer is fixed on the batten rail. With the help of such fasteners, only inner lining walls.

After completing the installation of the wooden wall cladding, you need to close all the corners and joints near the doors and windows with a corner and proceed to the finishing of the coating. To give its surface a certain shade, you can use colored varnishes and wood stains.
Before painting the walls on the veranda, it is recommended to apply the selected varnish to the sample of the material and let it dry. It happens that after drying, the shade of the coating changes, and it is quite difficult to remove a layer of varnish that does not correspond to the plan. Therefore, it will be better to buy a small container with a paint composition for the sample, and if it fits, purchase the rest.
If there is a need to leave the cladding wood in its original form, a colorless glaze containing an ultraviolet filter can be applied to it. It will help prevent the sun from fading your veranda walls.

Exterior wall decoration of the veranda

It can be done with lining or siding. Wooden cladding in this regard is somewhat capricious. Despite the processing of its elements with various antiseptics, when exposed to atmospheric precipitation, sunlight and seasonal temperature changes, the sheathing can lose its original appearance if not looked after.
Therefore, every year you will have to carry out various measures for its safety: impregnation, staining, etc. But if the choice in the direction of using wood has already been made, it is important to remember that the horizontal fastening of the outer sheathing boards should be done upward with a thorn, fixing them in 2 rows on each side of the lock joint.
Exterior decoration of the veranda walls with siding is a better option. This cladding got its name in the 19th century. Sliced and painted boards were fastened at an angle to the plane of the wall in such a way that each subsequent horizontal element slightly hung over the previous one. This position of the boards allowed the water to roll down without delay along the facing. Nowadays, siding performs two functions - protective and aesthetic.
Most commonly used for exterior wall cladding vinyl siding... Its popularity is due to the ease of installation, practicality and affordable price. Externally, the material looks like an ordinary board, which is used for cladding the facade.
However, vinyl will not lose its appearance even after a couple of decades, despite seasonal temperature fluctuations, bitter frosts and heavy rainfalls. In addition, dirt does not stick to this material and its maintenance is minimal - except perhaps to wash off the dust from the cladding with a garden hose. Due to the huge number of shades, siding can be matched to any exterior of the house, it will perfectly fit into the overall ensemble everywhere.
Installation of vinyl siding panels is carried out in the following order:

  1. First, it is necessary to make and install the lathing for the veranda wall cladding. This will require an unedged board 30 mm thick or a wooden bar with a cross-sectional size of 40x50 mm. It must be fixed in an upright position with a pitch of 400-500 mm over the entire surface of the walls. Additional wooden blocks should be installed around the windows, in the corners of the veranda, along the upper and lower edges of the future cladding.
  2. From the bottom along the perimeter of the walls in a strictly horizontal position, it is necessary to fix the starting profile to the crate using self-tapping screws.
  3. After that, you need to install corner profiles around the openings, as well as in all corners of the building. The lower edge of the corner profile should be 5-6 mm below the level of the starting strip.
  4. Then the panels should be cut. Vinyl is easy to cut with scissors, a hacksaw, or an electric jigsaw. Due to the fact that vinyl panels have thermal expansion, each of them must be made 5-7 mm shorter than the wall.
  5. After that, the prepared panel must be slightly bent in the center, and its edges must be inserted into the grooves of the profiles located at the corners of the wall. Then the panel should be aligned and its bottom edge inserted into the starting profile. The upper edge must be fixed with self-tapping screws to the crate through special holes.
  6. Firm pressing of the screw heads to the panel material is unacceptable. The oval shape of the fastening holes is specially designed for free movement of material relative to the screw part of the fastener when the air temperature changes. There must be a distance of 1.5 mm between the screw head and the batten.
  7. The next panel must also be inserted into the corner profiles, snapped into the groove of the previous element and fixed to the wall lathing.
  8. Before installation last panel it is necessary to install the finishing profile on the level of the crate. Then you need to cut the panel to the required width and snap it into the previous paneling, simply by inserting the free edge of the product into the finishing profile. This ends the siding of the veranda walls.

How to sheathe the walls of the veranda - look at the video:

A beautifully decorated building, located by the house or in the garden, always serves as an excellent place for relaxation and casual conversation. The neat and tasteful interior decoration is able to create a feeling of home comfort on the veranda and become an excellent designer decoration. edition TutKnow.ru

Your country house will become even more comfortable and beautiful if an extension is attached to it, located along one of the walls, which is called a veranda. Practically, this is another of the premises, but located in the open air, where you can enjoy the aromas of flowers in summer period and the smell of rotten foliage in autumn period... Even if it is raining outside the window, you can enjoy a cup of coffee on the veranda. The covered veranda can be converted into a summer dining room where the whole family can gather.

We cover the veranda

Since the veranda is used only in the summer, it is not necessary to carry out communications and heating there, therefore very often such a building is made by hand. Just like the facade of the house, the veranda needs additional finishing, which will help you feel the atmosphere of comfort and warmth. You should know that a house with a veranda sheathed with siding in the same style will look more beautiful, look at the photo.

Finishing the veranda with siding is done even when the house itself is sheathed with bricks or special plaster. Due to the precisely matched color of the panels, the result will be the most harmonious.

Why siding

When compared with other finishing materials, the use of siding provides the following opportunities:

  • ease of maintenance - in order for the cladding to look clean and beautiful, you should sometimes spray the surface of the panels with water from a hose;
  • has a low cost.

Such material is simple and easy to install, so if you have little construction experience, sheathing the veranda with siding after carefully reviewing the recommendation is quite a simple task.

Wall decoration

Before you start sheathing the veranda with panels, you should develop a plan that will give you the opportunity not only to calculate the cost of installing the panels, but also to prepare the exact amount of material. When the drawing with the indicated dimensions is completed, the lathing is attached to the facade, which is required for correct installation building material. For the frame, a metal profile or wooden even slats are most often used. Surface preparation is also an important workflow, as is the installation of the siding panels themselves. Siding only highlights all the obvious irregularities and distortions of the walls, therefore, when installing the frame, the possibility of such errors should be completely excluded.

The lathing is installed along the entire plane of the wall vertically, at a distance of about fifty centimeters. Additional bars fastened around window openings, at the corners of the veranda and along the top and bottom edges of the trim. All fasteners and screws that are used to install the frame must be long to fit into the tree, not less than thirty millimeters. The hats should be about eight millimeters in size.

A starting profile is installed below, which are attached to the frame with self-tapping screws. It should only be placed horizontally. Then corner profiles are attached in all corners, as well as around window and doorways... In this case, it is worth strictly observing that the lower edge of the corner profile is several millimeters below the first rail.

When the crate is ready, you should start cutting the panels. You can cut the bar with an ordinary hacksaw with small teeth or a jigsaw. The finished strip is slightly bent with an arc and the edges are inserted into the grooves of the corner profiles. The aligned bar is inserted with one edge into the starting bar, after which it is fixed with self-tapping screws into the grooves prepared in advance. It is not recommended to decorate the veranda with siding without ready-made holes; if necessary, you can use a special tool or a knife. It is not recommended to fasten the siding tightly to the frame; there should be a small gap between the screw head and the board surface, which ensures the expansion and deformation of the panel. In areas where frequent cold weather is observed, it is better to put a special nylon washer under the self-tapping screw.

The next bar is also inserted into the corner profiles, after which it snaps into the groove of the previous one and is also fixed to the frame.

Before mounting the final panel, the finishing profile is mounted, which is fixed at the level, and the panel of the required width is inserted into the previous strip with one edge, with the other edge into the profile and snapped into place.

When installing antennas and other passable parts to the panels, these elements should not in any way restrain the expansion and contraction of the panels.

Finishing the veranda with siding is carried out at a temperature of at least ten degrees. If installation is required in the cold season, small gaps are left between the panels.

In order to get a veranda sheathed with siding in the photo, you just need to adhere to the recommendations. If you have any difficulties in the process of work, you can watch the video.

Requirements for materials

Since we are talking about lining the veranda outside, it is important to understand the seriousness of the choice of material. It must meet some requirements. For example, have you seen that someone pasted wallpaper over a house or veranda? Not? But why? The thing is, the material is simply not made for outdoor use. The wallpaper will fade, peel or soak in the rain in a few days. In this example, you can understand that the material for the veranda cladding must meet certain requirements. Here's the list:

  1. Withstand precipitation in the form of rain, fog or snow.
  2. Resist the influence of ultraviolet rays, do not fade or warp.
  3. Be resistant to sudden temperature fluctuations.
  4. To be frost-resistant and durable.
  5. Withstand various physical and mechanical damage.
  6. Be bio-resistant, not susceptible to mold, mildew or insects.
  7. Be aesthetically pleasing.

Only such materials for veranda cladding can serve you well, remaining durable, reliable and beautiful for many years. And what can you choose from? Let's take a look at the list suitable materials, and video installation instructions for each of them.

Wooden lining

One of the most popular materials for interior and exterior decoration. The lining is made of wood, therefore it is environmentally friendly. In addition, the appearance of the products is simply gorgeous. As for the plating process, it is simple. It all comes down to creating a wooden frame and fixing the lining to it. Due to the locking connection, no seams are visible. The connections are hidden. But you can fix punks different ways... Often, clamps, nails, screws or staples are used for this.

Here are the benefits of the products:

  1. Great appearance.
  2. Ecological cleanliness.
  3. Ease of installation.
  4. With proper processing, the material will be protected from moisture and other atmospheric influences.
  5. The lining is strong and durable.
  6. Thanks to the product classification, you can choose products by price category for yourself, ranging from inexpensive to luxury class.
  7. The ability to lay insulation under the lining.
  8. Versatility. Can be used both outside and inside.

The installation process itself is simple. You can see the technology from this video:

Siding for veranda cladding

It is a unique material that is designed for outdoor use. It has all the benefits we talked about above. At the same time, there are several types of siding:

  • metal;
  • cement;
  • wood;
  • vinyl.

Most often, the last two options are used in verandah finishes. The installation technology is somewhat reminiscent of lining, since here you also need to build a frame and fix the siding to it. But, in the work there are some details and subtleties that are different. The material itself is very decent and is widely used for cladding not only verandas, but also houses in general.

Here are the benefits of siding:

  1. Long service life (50 years minimum).
  2. Possesses an excellent appearance and various assortment of colors.
  3. Simple to operate, easy to wash, no need to paint or repair.
  4. It is lightweight and flexible.
  5. It is versatile, you can choose the material of manufacture yourself.
  6. Installation is pretty straightforward.
  7. It copes well with temperature extremes and harsh weather conditions.
  8. It has openings for ventilation and condensation drainage.
  9. The veranda cladding material will not rot and be attacked by insects.
  10. Durable, practical and non-fading.

Due to its advantages, siding occupies a leading position among other cladding materials. Although, like everything, it has some disadvantages:

  • the material cannot be called environmentally friendly, although this is not so important for covering the veranda from the outside.
  • vinyl products burn very well, emitting harmful and toxic smoke;
  • vinyl products for the veranda become fragile at low temperatures;
  • metal siding is easy to damage. By bending it once, you will not return it to its former appearance;
  • wood siding has a short lifespan.

You can see the installation of siding from this video:

Other popular materials for veranda cladding

Most often, they resort to the materials described above for sheathing. Although, there are other options that are also in demand. One of them is facing brick. If your house is completely tiled with this material, then it would be foolish to use any other material for the veranda. Facing brick is quite expensive, but it has its own advantages. It can be noted reliability, strength, external beauty, durability, resistance to precipitation and temperature fluctuations. The material is not afraid of shocks and ultraviolet rays. Therefore, we can say that this option is a guarantee of reliability.

If we are talking about wooden house, then the veranda for him can be made in this style. Many people sheathe the veranda with wood, and the clapboard can also be attributed here. Nevertheless, often for this purpose a block house or imitation of a bar (false beam) is used. This is one of the varieties of lining, which differ in appearance and characteristics. A block house is a lining that imitates a rounded beam. The material has a convex shape, so after sheathing the veranda it may seem that it is entirely made of wooden beams. But the imitation of the timber creates the effect ordinary timber, has a rectangular shape. Take a look at the photo to understand the difference in the appearance of the materials.

You can decorate the veranda in one way or another. It's up to you to decide. It all depends on the desire, preferences and financial capabilities.

The veranda can not always be sheathed. There is another finish option, which is plastering. Often the house itself is finished using plaster, so the veranda can be made like this. In this case, you have the opportunity to insulate it from the outside. It is enough to sheathe the veranda with insulating material. plaster the surface using a reinforcing mesh, and then apply a finishing putty or plaster. At the same time, various options plastering. It can be bark beetle plaster, fur coat, structural, decorative or textured plaster. There are a lot of options, and their choice depends on you. At the same time, the material will perfectly resist external influences and protect the insulation inside. So, you can kill two birds with one stone. Look at the photo, what the bark beetle looks like on the surface.

People who plan to equip their home with a veranda or terrace often have a question: what material to use for sheathing the structure? If we consider that the veranda is a fairly open room, during the construction of which insulation and waterproofing are not used, the question can be considered relevant. The material used for the cladding must be reliable, durable and safe.

Lining is an environmentally friendly material used for interior decoration, which is why it is very popular today.

The lining meets all these requirements - modern construction material made from edged boards. Usually, the thickness of the lining does not exceed 22 mm, but there is also a non-standard material that has a large thickness. As a rule, lining boards are used for interior decoration of premises, but in some cases they can also be used outside. For example, finishing the veranda.

Preparation for cladding work

When planning the work, first of all, it is necessary to determine the method of fastening the lining elements to the structure. Today there are several of them:

Kleimers do not need to be driven into the lining elements, which eliminates the possibility of damage and cracking of the boards.

  1. Kleimers are the most convenient and neat way in which the finishing of the veranda will be as successful as possible. This is explained by the absence of the need to drive foreign parts into the lining elements, which will completely eliminate the possibility of cracking and damage to the boards.
  2. Construction stapler staples - quick way, which allows the cladding to be carried out quite accurately, but at the same time there is damage to the boards, which significantly reduces their durability.
  3. Nails or screws are the fastest way to fasten the cladding, but at the same time they also have the most damaging properties for the lining. In addition, the risk of material deterioration is quite high.

If the master has extensive experience with clapboard, you can use nails. In this case, the finishing process will take place as quickly as possible, and a well-filled hand will eliminate shortcomings. In all other cases, it is recommended to use a method that is less traumatic for the material.

When the method of covering the veranda is determined, it is necessary to prepare the necessary materials and tools. In this case, you will need:

  • lining;
  • screwdriver;
  • fine-toothed saw;
  • hammer drill or drill;
  • building level;
  • timber;
  • fasteners for lining (clamps, nails, screws);
  • yardstick;
  • antiseptic compositions for the treatment of lining;
  • stain, varnish or paint.

Covering the lining with an antiseptic is necessary so that it does not rot.

When choosing a lining for covering a veranda, you need to pay attention to its length. So, if, when carrying out finishing work in a room, it is desirable to purchase the longest boards, then finishing the veranda requires the purchase of a shorter material. This is explained by the presence of a large number of window openings in this room. Short material is easier to adjust to the required size.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account the type of wood from which the lining is made. Here the most a good choice there will be boards made of pine, larch or aspen. They are suitable for both a cold terrace and a heated room.

Carrying out the cladding of the room with lining boards

As a rule, few of the owners build an insulated veranda, usually it is an open space intended for use in the summer season. This means that humid air from the street can freely enter the veranda. Therefore, all material used for decoration must be treated with antiseptic solutions, excluding the occurrence of mold and decay. This will significantly extend its service life.

In the event that the climate in the region where the country house is located is characterized by high humidity, it is more practical to use not wooden, but plastic lining or a metal profile. This will slightly increase the cost of finishing work, but also add durability to the structure.

Features of the inner lining

The need to install the lathing depends on the design of the veranda. So, if the room is built of even and smooth boards, the lathing is not needed: the lining boards can be attached directly to the tree. If the structure is an open frame made of timber, it is necessary to create a base to which the lining will be attached.

For the lathing, bars with a section of 20x40 mm are selected. Then the bars are attached to wooden frame... The beams, which will be the basis of the lathing, are installed in the corners of the structure. Their verticality is checked using a plumb line. The beams are then mounted horizontally under the ceiling and along the floor line.

Subsequent actions depend on the method of fastening the lining boards. So, if the lining is nailed horizontally, the lathing beams are attached vertically along the walls in 50 cm increments.When the lining boards are positioned vertically, the lathing elements are nailed horizontally in 50 cm increments.

The first element of the lining is nailed with a comb into one of the corners of the room. If clamps are used as fasteners, either special nails or screws can serve as fasteners for them. Kleimers are put on the bottom groove strip of the lining element and nailed to the crate. The subsequent element of the lining, inserted with the ridge into the groove, closes the attachment point.

In a similar way, the interior decoration of the veranda is made. After that, you need to move on to the exterior.

Siding is found at every step today. Sheathing of a log house with siding is done, as well as any other structure. In this article, we will consider the technology of siding.

It applies to almost any building. The very principle of doing the work is important here, you just need to follow certain rules and technology. Also, the video in this article will show the entire progress of the work and you will not miss anything.

What attracts siding and vice versa

If you are interested in the budget decoration of the veranda walls, then in this case it is best to turn your attention to given view panels, since their price will suit almost everyone.

Their main positive aspects is an:

  • Simple to operate and maintain.
  • Easy to assemble, because everything can be done entirely by hand. And here you don't need a lot of skill. You just need to know the basic principles of cladding and the lessons on our website will help you with this.
  • Resistant to temperature extremes and high humidity.
  • Material consumption can be minimized, because here you just need to calculate everything correctly.
  • The ability of the material to cover different planes is also attractive. It can be made at an angle, sheathed with siding, there is also not only horizontal, but also vertical fastening.
  • Siding cladding can be done with the simultaneous installation of insulation. The price of the structure in this version will increase purely by the cost of the insulation.

Such plastic panels, of course, have some disadvantages, which include:

  • Low environmental friendliness... Only environmentally friendly materials are used in production.
  • High fragility.

Attention: This material should not be installed in winter. In this case, it is quite simply damaged by mechanical means.

Siding finishing technology

Let's take a concrete example, this is siding veranda. Although, in principle, you can take any other room. After all, the installation instructions will be almost the same. Let's take a closer look at the entire installation process of this material.

Installation of the lathing

Construction begins with installation, because then the entire preparation process, in principle, is decided by the crate. You don't really care about the drop in the plane of the wall. Everything is aligned, the main thing at the first stage is to make the correct and high-quality markup.

So:

  • First of all, we need to draw the starter strip along the plane. To do this, put a mark at the desired height.
  • After that we transfer it. For this, a water level is used. It is he who will help to do this accurately enough.
  • After this, we connect the marks. To do this, we use a simple nylon thread and beat off the attachment line.
  • Now we nail the starting bar along the drawn line. To do this, you can use a metal corner or a wooden bar. We use dowels for fastening. First, we make a hole with a punch and then we make a connection. The mount must be extremely rigid. After all, the weight of the structure is large.
  • If you decide to take wood slats, then before installing them you need to treat them with an antiseptic, which will protect the wood from all kinds of insects and decay.

Attention: For walls facing the street, it is best to use just such slats, because the metal profile will play the role of a cold bridge, which will negative impact to the overall level of thermal insulation. The metal profile, in turn, is well suited for uneven walls.

  • Now we attach the transverse battens. To do this, we need to define the installation plane. We pull the fishing line along the diagonals of the harness and fasten the slats according to the level.
  • The installation height is adjusted with spacers. You can also use wood.

The slats on the wall must be mounted perpendicular to the direction of installation of the panels. The pitch between the slats is approximately fifty centimeters.

We carry out insulation

Construction and decoration must be done with high quality. And one of important factors is an . With siding, this can be done quite simply.

Moreover, the cost of finishing with your own hands will only be the cost of the material. Moreover, if you have a heated veranda, then this must be done.

  • After installing the lathing, you must immediately cover the plane with a waterproofing film. It is attached to the crate. For this, a construction stapler is used.
  • After that we need to fix the mats. Their connection is done using construction parachutes. They must be purchased in advance. It is necessary to make at least six attachment points per meter.

Attention: When laying, care must be taken not to deform the insulation. Otherwise, it will lose its properties.

Panel mounting

There are several ways of fastening. He will not consider everything, but note the most convenient and accessible one - with the help of self-tapping screws. The most the best choice will be the use of horizontal siding, which has lock type connections.

After securing the lathing around the perimeter, we fasten the siding panels:

  • A starting rail is installed in the lower corner.
  • For these purposes, we use self-tapping screws.
  • We lower the panel into such a rail in such a way that the mounting shelf is directed towards the installation.

PVC is fixed with self-tapping screws or a special device.

Attention: If self-tapping screws are used, then in no case should they be tightened to the end, you need to leave a free space of one millimeter. If this is not done, then the panels will certainly warp.

  • After that, we sequentially install the finishing panels one after the other so that there are no gaps between them. But at the bottom and top of the wall, it is best to provide a gap of three centimeters. This will protect yourself from distortion of the cladding due to thermal expansion. The resulting space can be covered with a skirting board.

Attention: It should be borne in mind that vinyl siding is subject to thermal expansion, which is why all panels that are mounted should be 5 millimeters shorter than the wall.

  • The panels must be installed sequentially, with the lower edge leading into the grooves of the starting profile or the previous strip.
  • The panels are fixed with self-tapping screws, but they should not be tightened to the end. Remember that material expands due to temperature. There should be a distance of one millimeter between the coating plane and the screw head.
  • In the same way, one by one, fasten the remaining planks until you move to the top of the structure. There, first you need to install the finishing bar, and only after that we mount the extreme bar.

Now you know how to sheathe the veranda with siding and you can get the job done without any problems. Siding sheathing is a durable construction that will last for a long time.

One of the most significant advantages of living in a private house is the opportunity at any time of the day or night to go out into the fresh air and enjoy the scent of flowers in summer or the enchanting smell of rotten foliage in late autumn.
A closed veranda in a country house can be easily turned into a dining room where the whole family will gather for Sunday lunch: share impressions, make plans and just communicate. Important role in creating the necessary mood, not only the view opening from the windows plays, but also the decoration of the veranda. It is she who will help you create an atmosphere of home comfort and peace.

Choice of materials
The choice of materials for finishing the veranda is not only aesthetic, but also practical. As a rule, the word "veranda" means an unheated room. In some cases, an open veranda looks more like a gazebo attached to the house, so that there is no question of heating at all. This means that the decor should be not only beautiful, but also resistant to high humidity and temperature changes.

In winter, the room will be humid, and if you use non-moisture resistant facing materials, then after two or three years the repair will have to be done again.
Usually, the bottom of the walls is clad with modern finishing material - PVC plastic wall panels. Wall surfaces from panels to ceiling are covered with moisture resistant paint.

It is not recommended to use laminate when decorating the floor on a closed veranda. Since in harsh operating conditions, in a damp room, even a moisture-resistant high-quality expensive laminate will lose its original appearance and shape.

Tiles, on the other hand, will not lose their remarkable properties and original appearance in such conditions. If used as a floor covering tile, it is better to use large tiles, as they are easier to install. As a result, if the seams between adjacent tiles are reduced to a minimum, or even removed altogether, a smooth, visually uniform surface is obtained.

After the final finishing of the floor, it is necessary to install plastic skirting boards, as they are considered the most durable in comparison with wooden skirting boards and are not afraid of moisture.

Warming of the veranda.
Correct thermal insulation of the lower part of the walls (under the windows) and the ceiling is of great importance. The interior decoration of the veranda begins with her. If the insulation is done correctly, the room can be inhabited until late autumn.

You can insulate the ceiling of the veranda with almost any thermal insulation materials: mineral wool, extruded polystyrene foam (EPS), foam or liquid sprayed polyurethane foam. Having chosen polystyrene, you must be prepared for the fact that for high-quality thermal insulation you will have to lay a sufficiently thick layer of this material, which will inevitably lead to a decrease in the ceiling level by 10-15 cm. Sprayed polyurethane foam is an effective but expensive insulation. But the EPS and mineral wool at a fairly affordable price, they will be able to perfectly protect your veranda from the autumn cold.
Important! It should be remembered that mineral wool is very afraid of dampness. Under the influence of moisture, just a few years later, such a heater turns into dust.

Finishing with PVC panels

The most budgetary option for finishing the walls of the veranda in recent years has been plastic panels. This material is resistant to high humidity and temperature extremes. In addition, it is quite easy to assemble and clean.

The disadvantages of plastic can be attributed only to low environmental friendliness and fragility - it is very easy to break it by inadvertently pushing back a chair or accidentally hitting the wall with your knee.

As a frame for PVC panels, wooden slats with a section of 30 * 20 or 30 * 10 mm or a metal profile for mounting drywall can be used. When using wood, it must be pre-treated with an antiseptic.

Useful advice! On the walls of the veranda facing the street, it is better to use wooden slats for lathing. Fastening metal profiles can create "cold bridges", which significantly reduce the quality of thermal insulation. But for not too flat interior walls it is better to use a profile on special suspensions.

The slats must be fixed perpendicular to the direction of the panels' laying. So, if the plastic is placed vertically on the wall, then the slats are packed horizontally in increments of no more than 50 cm.

Important! The veranda walls are decorated with patterned panels from left to right. You can start the installation of plain panels from either side of the wall.

When the crate is ready, a starting profile or mounting corner is attached in the corner of the room with the help of nails or self-tapping screws. The first one is used if the adjacent wall is finished with a different material, and the second one will allow joining the PVC panels to each other.
Then the first panel is inserted into the guide profile so that the wide fixing shelf is directed towards the installation.
To fix the panel to the crate, you can use metal holders, or you can simply screw it to the rail with a self-tapping screw.

Important! If you do not use holders to mount the panels, do not over-tighten the self-tapping screw. Otherwise, the panel will "lead".

We insert the next panel so that there is no gap left, and fasten it.
Remember that PVC panels are subject to thermal expansion. To compensate for it, it is necessary to leave a gap of 2-3 cm at the top and bottom of the wall and close it with a plinth.

MDF - cheap imitation wood

Another popular finishing material is MDF panels. They are somewhat stronger than plastic, but less resistant to moisture. It is not worth using this material on open verandas, but for closed ones it is quite suitable.

MDF panels are installed in the same way as plastic ones.

Wooden lining - a classic of the genre

When listing the materials for finishing the veranda, it is impossible not to mention the most traditional of them - wood. Most often this is the so-called lining.

Lining - a cladding board, up to 22mm thick with special grooves that facilitate installation and joining.

This material is sheathed not only on the walls, but also on the ceiling of the veranda. After treatment with antiseptics, the lining will serve you up to 20 years. There is no need to talk about the advantages of wood over artificial materials for a long time. That there is only a delicious woody scent that will be felt on your veranda for many years.

The choice of wooden lining

First of all, it should be said that according to the production method, the lining is divided into spliced and solid. In the first case, the best quality pieces of wood are joined in a special way. Despite the fact that this material looks excellent - it does not have knots, cracks and other putty defects - it is not suitable for finishing an open veranda. At high humidity, cracks may form at the splice, which will greatly spoil the appearance of the finish.

Important! When purchasing material, be sure to unpack it. Very often there are defective or low-grade planks in the middle of the pack.

Perhaps this is all about the interior decoration of the veranda.

Do-it-yourself wall repair in the veranda: finishing options, photos, videos

There are a lot of options for decorating the walls of the veranda - choose the one that turns out to be the most suitable. If in the future glazing of the veranda is meant, then the option with a metal profile will seem especially good.

Tips for decorating your veranda
  • If you are planning glazing, then stained-glass windows made of aluminum, which are placed directly on the basement, are ideal for walls. The use of these elements allows you to simultaneously solve several problems - both the construction of walls and their further decoration. More precisely, finishing is not needed here - you just have to wash the glass from time to time. Only you need to think about how to decorate the profile itself and the intermediate posts. A facing brick or stone is perfect for this.
  • Glass blocks are another good option to decorate the veranda, which can be done even at the stage of wall construction. First of all, this material is good because it is constructive and decorative.
  • The modern building materials market offers an impressive assortment of a wide variety of blocks: frosted, corrugated, colored glass. There are also varieties of blocks with decorative applications - they are made in the inner cavity. Whoever saw them knows that they look really very beautiful.
  • Various options for glass blocks can be combined as you want. If desired, compose some kind of panel. It would be nice to accompany this with effective lighting. Of course, the cost of such a veranda will increase significantly compared to structures made of plywood or plastic walls, but the end result will pay off all investments.
  • In the event that the wall consists of glass blocks, you will not worry about light transmission. In such a room it will always be light, despite the presence of small windows.
Advice! Equip windows directly on the roof (something like roof windows). You can successfully combine both options - let one wall consist of glass blocks, and the others from stained-glass windows.

The fourth wall of the veranda is the load-bearing wall of the house. Its decor will be made when you start the interior decoration of the room.

DIY wall repair in the veranda: using wood

If you have a veranda open type, here the concepts of external and internal decoration of the premises are mixed. Usually, such structures are made of wood: this also applies to structural and decorative elements.

Features of finishing the walls of the veranda with wood:

  • Compared to others durable materials that can be used to build and decorate the walls of the veranda, the tree fits perfectly, creating a favorable atmosphere for a comfortable stay. As a result, the air in the room will always be saturated with a woody aroma.
  • The elements supporting the roof can consist of rounded logs or beams with a section of 150x150 mm.
  • Many owners do not want to save on finishing the veranda, deciding to decorate this place solidly, with high quality, because there will be a place for the whole family to relax. For this situation, manufacturers offer a variety of solutions.
  • Recently, decking is often used for facing the veranda. This material is known as decking. It is customary to include garden parquet and deck boards, for the manufacture of which not wood, but composite is used. That is, in addition to wood, the composition contains polymer additives. As a result, the product improves its characteristics - they acquire high strength and are not afraid of moisture. All this is perfect for both closed and open verandas. Even an unheated structure can be clad with this material.
  • Ash or larch planken is also a high-quality, very expensive wood, with which you can easily perform exterior decoration... Planken is a planed facade board consisting of solid wood massifs. What is the difference between planken and ordinary planed boards? The difference lies in the shape: the plank has beveled and rounded chamfers. There are no connecting grooves that are present in the lining, due to which the installation is carried out with gaps, and not end-to-end.
  • A veranda made of wood, first of all, is good because it is easy to attach to different designs- brick, stone, wood. The bottom line is that the facade finish in this regard is fully consistent with the finish of the veranda. Often the wood is not just painted, but the surface is decorated with carving.
Attention! Carving the design of the veranda will be a worthy solution. A beautiful carved parapet and twisted pillars will look different here. The first element, for example, can be colored in contrast to other structures.

Arched hanging elements will also look good if they have a lace pattern. In general, there are many options, so be creative.

Interior decoration of the glazed veranda

  • an excellent option for organizing the design of the veranda - the roof is made of glass, stained-glass windows are installed. Due to this, the room will be constantly flooded with the sun;
  • a worthy addition for finishing the walls of the veranda - unusual blinds or curtains of original colors;
  • in addition to wood, MDF, plastic, drywall can be used in the decoration of the veranda. More a budget option- staining. Many people prefer polystyrene tiles.

Decorating the walls on the veranda can be done in a variety of ways, but in most cases, households prefer light colors.

Do-it-yourself wall repair on the veranda: materials, installation, photo, video

As noted above, the interior decoration of the veranda can be made from different finishing materials. The choice directly depends on the size, purpose and microclimate of the room.

If heating is provided on the veranda, then you can decorate this part of the building with drywall, and wallpaper it on top. But in most cases the owners country houses, you have to choose materials that are suitable for an unheated veranda. Therefore, it is important that the material is not only attractive, but also harmoniously combined with the interior of a residential building, and also meets all the requirements. This is resistance and practicality to temperature extremes.

What materials can be used to sheathe the veranda:

  • MDF boards;
  • lining made of wood;
  • finishing PVC panels.

And below we will consider each of the materials separately, including their installation process.

  1. MDF panels.

Popular finishing materials for walls are MDF panels. Length wide boards or one slat from 2.5 to 3 m, width 15-30 cm. The hardware store offers a wide range of panels of various shades, you can buy finishing materials for every taste. The surface of the panels is different. She can imitate wood, stone and other materials.

The main advantages of this material:

  • a huge selection of shades and a noble appearance;
  • practicality, which is especially important for cladding unheated premises... In addition to being resistant to temperature extremes and moisture, the panels are easy to clean, do not accumulate dirt and dust. It is enough to wipe the surface with a cloth or soft sponge soaked in soapy water;
  • ease of installation is one of the main advantages of a wall decoration material. It is enough just to make a crate from the slats, and then attach the panels;
  • reasonable price - the cost of the panels is small, so everyone can afford to buy the most acceptable option.

Installation process of MDF panels

First you need to attach wooden slats to the walls (you can buy metal ones, but in this case, the sheathing will cost more). The remaining building material is suitable for the frame. Each owner will have in stock materials from which a frame can be made. But at the same time it is important to adhere to the following size: the width of the rail is 4 cm, the thickness is from 2 cm.

You can attach wooden slats to nails, thereby adjusting uneven walls. In this case, you do not have to bother with leveling the walls and buy expensive materials.

For work, you will need a plumb line or a building level so that the wall after sheathing turns out to be perfectly flat.

Each of the panels has a groove or recess. The first panel must be installed only from the corner, screwing it in with screws, the next one must be placed next to the first until it stops so that it goes into the recess, and a click is heard. The process of wall decoration itself will not take much of your time, it is interesting and fast.

If you need to sheathe a door or window opening, you need to cut the panels. This can be done very easily using an electric jigsaw or a conventional saw.

The transitions on the ceiling and the field can be hidden by means of a skirting board. At the same time, it is important to correctly choose the shade of the plinth so that the whole veranda looks decent.

A rich selection of textures and shades of MDF panels allows you to translate into reality a variety of design ideas... The veranda, trimmed with panels of various shades, looks original, especially if you choose materials by color. At the same time, you can zone the space: eating, resting, work corner, etc.

  1. PVC panels.

Making repairs to the walls of the veranda with your own hands, you can save money and make the cladding with plastic panels. Such a finishing material is well adapted to temperature changes and high humidity. PVC panels are a practical and inexpensive material. Their cost is small, and even a beginner can handle the installation process.

It should be noted that it is easy to take care of the panels: just wipe the surface with a slightly damp sponge. Due to the ease of installation and low cost, PVC panels can be renewed every three to five years, thereby changing the appearance of the room. Let's say you liked panels with wood imitation - an eco-style room is quite suitable.

If you are tired of the wood-like wall decoration, change the panels to new ones that imitate metal surfaces, fabric and even a natural stone... A huge selection of shades and textures, ease of installation plus low cost - these are the main advantages of this material. By the way, not only the walls themselves, but also the ceiling can be trimmed with PVC panels.

Features of installation of PVC panels

You will need a wooden lath (30x20, 30x10 mm) for the frame. If there is no tree, then you can buy a special profile designed for fixing drywall. But here it is important to choose the material taking into account the type of veranda. In the event that the walls of the veranda protrude outward, it is better to use wooden slats, since the metal acts as a "cold bridge".

The panels are attached to the frame using fastening material (nails or screws), but it is important to leave a gap between the wall and the tile, thereby allowing the board to "breathe". A gap of 2-3 cm will be sufficient.

It is worth noting some of the disadvantages of this material: the panels are fragile, which means that if you accidentally hook on the wall, for example, bringing in furniture, you can break them.

Attention! If you plan to use the veranda as a summer dining room, then so that the backs of the chairs do not deform the plastic panels, it is better to nail it to the wall at the level of the back. additional protection... A decorative wooden plank with a certain pattern or a board covered with fabric looks beautiful. It turns out unusual and beautiful, and the veranda will become a favorite place to relax.
  1. Lining.

Solid wood lining is durable and practical. The material is not afraid of changes in temperature and moisture, has excellent thermal insulation properties and is easy to clean.

This lining has a standard thickness of 22 cm. The board can be attached by yourself. You can sheathe the veranda from the inside wooden clapboard(not only walls, but also a ceiling).

Lining characteristics:

  • the material is resistant and durable. He is not afraid of any mechanical loads;
  • practicality - you can sheathe a room once and not return to this issue in the next 15-20 years;
  • delicate woody aroma and beautiful appearance;
  • walls finished wooden planks, - beautiful and safe for health. Wood is a natural material, but it can catch fire, even though it is impregnated with special compounds;
  • a huge selection of shades and a long service life (more than 20 years).

In hardware stores, you can choose the material for repairing the walls of the veranda to your taste and the estimated budget. Please note that the cost of a solid board will be higher compared to spliced boards. Such material does not differ in any way externally, but is suitable only for interior decoration.

That is, if your veranda does not have heating, then buy a lining, consisting of solid wood. If you ignore such recommendations and trim the walls of the veranda with cheap material, then during operation and in conditions of fluctuations in humidity / temperature, cracks may appear on the surface. Of course, the appearance of this room will not be as attractive as after the completion of the renovation. In addition, the very strength of the finishing material will suffer.

Experienced experts recommend using a solid board "A", "B" and "C" -class for interior wall decoration. This material is great for indoor wall decoration. The cost of this lining will cost less than the "extra-class" material, only small nuances are noticeable on the surface - knots and dents. Such boards are pre-impregnated with a special compound and processed with putty, so that during the repair of the veranda walls with your own hands, these stages can be eliminated. There is one more marking of the lining - "extra" class. The quality of such material is at a height, as is the cost itself.

All work on finishing the walls of the veranda can be done independently. You just need to first make the crate and attach the planks to the wall. The method of fastening may differ: on self-tapping screws (hidden), nails or using a stapler.

Upon completion of the installation, it is better to treat the walls made of wood with a liquid protected from UV rays or open them with varnish, thereby extending the life of the material.
