How to decorate the veranda in the country in an original way. What materials are suitable for interior decoration of the veranda? How to decorate a summer veranda

A veranda or terrace in a private house is an excellent place to relax for its inhabitants.

To make it comfortable and create an atmosphere of home comfort and peace, it internal arrangement it is necessary to give the appropriate appearance.

The most used material for building a veranda is wood. And before proceeding with the interior decoration of the veranda, it is necessary to cover the wood parts with an antiseptic solution.

It must be borne in mind that this is non-residential and unheated room, therefore, special requirements are imposed on the materials used for interior decoration. So that the interior decoration of the veranda has a good appearance and did not require frequent repairs, it is required to use high quality, moisture resistant materials. If you have basic skills in performing repair work, finishing the veranda can be done by hand.

It is necessary to start this work with an estimate. Plan the order of work, select and purchase the necessary material in advance so that the interior decoration is done quickly and efficiently. List of works for finishing the veranda:

  1. Selection of materials.
  2. Ceiling decoration.
  3. Veranda wall cladding.
  4. Floor covering.

What materials are used for finishing the veranda?

If you want a beautiful veranda finish, choosing quality materials is critical. The peculiarity of the selection of materials lies in the fact that in most cases an unglazed veranda attached to the house looks more like an open terrace, which is seriously exposed to the external environment. Therefore, the material must not only correspond to a certain design, but also be resistant to high humidity, temperature extremes and sunlight.

The most common material for such work is wood lining. This material can sheathe both the walls and the ceiling of the veranda. It is an environmentally friendly natural material with an excellent appearance and a pleasant smell of wood.

The drywall is waterproof. Environmentally friendly, non-combustible material, easy to install, easy to process, allows for a wide variety of finishing.

MDF is a material that imitates wood. A durable material with a wood-effect surface. However, when moisture gets into it, it swells and loses its qualities. Can be used to decorate closed verandas.

PVC panels. Inexpensive, moisture-resistant material, has a rich texture, a wide variety of colors and shades. Easy to install, easy to clean. Durable and non-flammable material.

Siding is a practical, inexpensive material. Available in various colors, with imitation wood, block House, lining. It is not subject to decay, is resistant to fire, temperature extremes, has a long service life, and is easy to clean.

Ceiling finishing procedure

The process of making a ceiling begins with its preparation. First of all, it is required to treat the wooden structures of the veranda ceiling with an antiseptic and fire retardants. Then install the frame under the skin. The frame is made of bars approximately 30x50 mm in size. Before installation, the bars are impregnated with an antiseptic.

After it dries, with the help of self-tapping screws, the bars are attached to the roof rafters with a pitch of about 50 cm, observing the horizontal position, which is maintained using a level.

If the veranda is closed, the ceiling is insulated, which allows you to use the veranda until late autumn. To insulate the ceiling, a waterproofing film is first installed and attached to the rafters, then a heater is installed between the rafters. Mineral wool or expanded polystyrene is used as a heater. After completing these works, the ceiling is sheathed with clapboard or other material.

The lining is laid perpendicular to the frame rails and nailed to the end with thin galvanized nails. After installation, the surface of the lining is sanded and varnished.

When sheathing with PVC panels, a starting profile is installed in the corner of the room on the crate, it helps to assemble the panels together. Then a panel sheet is inserted into the groove of the profile. It is attached with self-tapping screws or special holders. The next panel is placed in the groove, fixed, and so on. During installation, an expansion gap of about 2 cm is provided, which is then closed with a plinth.

Similarly, the veranda ceiling is sheathed with siding and MDF.

To install drywall, instead of wooden bars, it is better to use a special metal profile as a crate. Elements are installed on the profile, to which sheets of drywall are attached using self-tapping screws.

After that, the surface of the veranda ceiling is putty, cleaned, and it is ready for finishing... As a finish, you can glue it with vinyl wallpaper, paint it or cover it with artistic plaster.

Veranda wall cladding

A frame made of wooden blocks is installed on the walls, the verticality of which is checked by the level. If necessary, the walls are insulated. On the outside of the wall, a waterproofing film is installed, which is fastened with slats, then a heater is installed and the crate is attached. Wood elements are pre-treated with an antiseptic. Then a lining or other finishing material is attached to the frame. And their finishing is carried out.

The veranda can be decorated with a variety of materials. At the same time, it should be taken into account that this room is unheated, therefore it is not recommended to use finishing materials that are unstable to moisture and temperature extremes. In addition, it is not recommended to save money in the process of purchasing finishing materials.

All finishing works can be done independently, without the help of specialists. First you need to create an approximate project for the work, then select and purchase materials. The ceiling is usually finished first, then the walls, and finally the floor.

What materials are suitable for finishing the veranda?

Selection of suitable finishing materials is of decisive importance.

Finishing should be done with high quality materials that are resistant to various negative influences.

It is especially important if the veranda does not have full glazing and insulation. Then the finish will be subject to the strongest influence of atmospheric factors, which cannot but affect its performance.

  1. The most popular material for holding finishing works on the veranda is a wooden paneling. It is suitable for finishing ceilings and walls of rooms. The lining is completely made of wood, has an attractive appearance, it is pleasant to the touch and exudes a pleasant woody smell. At the same time, during additional processing, the lining is resistant to various influences, which allows it to be used in different climatic conditions.
  2. Interior decoration can be done with plasterboard sheets. At the same time, it is important to purchase moisture-resistant drywall, which can be used to sheathe the ceiling and walls. It is a safe material to operate and not exposed to fire. Plasterboard sheets can be easily cut and bent, so the final decoration of the room can be done using a variety of design techniques.
  3. The veranda inside can also be finished with MDF. It is a cladding material that imitates natural wood. It is strong enough, durable, but susceptible to moisture, so it cannot be used to decorate the structure outside. The best option is to use it in closed and.
  4. PVC panels. PVC panels have been in high demand in recent years. Panels on modern market are presented in a wide variety of shades, textures and types, so you can easily choose an option for your veranda or terrace. PVC panels are highly resistant to moisture, high and low temperatures, and chemicals. They are easy to assemble with your own hands. Caring for the material also does not require special costs.
  5. Siding. Interior decoration with siding is extremely rare. Still, this is a material for finishing work outside. It is great for cladding country houses and various buildings on the site. In stores, you can find models with imitation of wooden lining, natural wood, stone, brick and other materials.

The choice of this or that type of material for decoration will depend on the personal preferences of the owners and financial capabilities.

Veranda ceiling decoration

Before finishing the ceiling of the veranda inside, it is necessary to thoroughly treat all wooden elements with an antiseptic composition.

After processing, the installation of the frame base is carried out, for which wooden blocks are used (30x50 or 50x50 are suitable). They should also be treated with antiseptic compounds. The bars are fastened to the roof rafters using self-tapping screws or long nails. The step of fixing the bars is 30-40 cm. It is important to observe the horizontal installation of wooden elements, for which you need to use the building level.

Also, a waterproofing material must be fixed to the rafters, which will protect the heat insulator and finishing materials from moisture. Thermal insulation materials in the case of a veranda can be plates. mineral wool, polystyrene and other traditional insulation materials. Only then can you start attaching the outer skin to the ceiling.

The easiest way will be to hem a wooden lining on the ceiling of the veranda. Installation of wooden lining is carried out strictly perpendicular to the frame bars. You need to nail it into the end with galvanized nails. After the lining of the ceiling with clapboard is completed, it is recommended that it be sanded and coated with any suitable paint and varnish composition.

If the ceiling of the veranda is planned to be finished with PVC panels, then the work is carried out in the following sequence:

  • First, the initial profile is installed on a wooden crate, with which it will be possible to assemble the individual PVC panels with each other.
  • After that, a panel sheet must be inserted into the grooves of the initial profile. The panel is fastened using separate clips or self-tapping screws.
  • Then the next panel is installed in the groove, which must be fixed in the same way.
  • Further, the work is carried out in the same sequence.
  • During installation, it is necessary to leave a small gap of 10-20 mm in size, which will ensure trouble-free expansion plastic material in the process of exposure to high temperatures.

Likewise, siding panels or MDF can be hemmed onto the veranda ceiling. Given the fact that MDF and siding in stores are presented in many models with a wide variety of designs, this option has recently become a priority for many suburban homeowners.

If it was planned to hem drywall sheets on the ceiling, then it would be better to abandon the use of wooden lathing in favor of a specialized metal profile.

The elements are installed directly on the profile, to which the drywall sheets are attached. It is better to fix the sheets with self-tapping screws. Upon completion of the drywall fixing, the ceiling surface must be putty, cleaned, which will prepare it for final finishing.

Finishing the walls and floor of the veranda

It is quite simple to decorate the walls of the veranda: first of all, it is necessary to install wooden frame from bars. It is important to make the installation as smooth as possible, checking the accuracy of the installation with a building level.

Nice wood paneling.

If you intend to make a warm veranda, then after installing a wooden sheathing, the walls need to be insulated with a suitable thermal insulation material... Before installing the insulation, a waterproofing film is installed, which will protect the insulator and finishing materials from moisture and condensation. All used wood materials must be treated with an antiseptic compound. After that, the selected facing material is attached to the wall.

The veranda flooring needs special attention. The choice of this or that type of coating will largely depend on the operating conditions. For finishing the veranda floor, you can use a terrace or massive board, laminated panels, ceramic tiles and other popular floor materials... Waterproof laminate and decking - the best option for decoration. These coatings are quite simple to install, durable, and do not require special maintenance conditions.

Waterproof laminate and decking can be used even when the veranda is completely open from the outside and has no glazing.

In addition, in such cases, as an alternative solution for floor finishing, preference can be given to traditional ceramic tiles or modern PVC panels. It is also possible to use linoleum. It is worth noting that the new linoleum models have a rather attractive appearance and excellent performance, so their cost can be quite high.

External finishing of the veranda

Outside, the veranda can be finished wooden clapboard, although many experts recommend abandoning its use in external cladding, even if the material has been treated with protective compounds. The most popular solution for exterior decoration terraces and verandas are siding, models of which can imitate a variety of finishing materials. Siding can be easily attached to any base.

For facade work, horizontal siding is usually used, equipped with locks. Finishing in this case can be done independently. The main thing here is to make a frame (crate), on which the installation of plastic siding panels will be carried out.

A veranda can become not only a comfortable, but also a practical room, but the owners should think about this in advance. There are several options for finishing, and they will be determined by the complexity of the upcoming work. The work is divided into internal and external ones. We propose to consider the most acceptable, from the point of view of costs, methods, methods and materials that are involved in facing work on the veranda. A secure and well-appointed space can become a favorite room for the whole family.

Subject to considering the option in which external finishing work is carried out, special attention should be paid to the choice of material. The requirements are the same for materials that are involved in external finishing work. Nobody is going to use paper wallpaper as a finishing raw material, which will fall off after the first rain. The thing is that paper matter is not suitable for external use. The list of requirements is as follows:

  1. Aesthetics, which will eliminate subsequent costs for surface decoration;
  2. Resistant to insects, fungi and mildew;
  3. Ability to withstand some mechanical and physical stress, as well as damage;
  4. Durability;
  5. Frost resistance;
  6. The material must withstand significant temperature and climatic changes;
  7. Resistance of the upper layers to direct sunlight, which excludes the possibility of curvature and burnout of the coating;
  8. Ability to survive in a humid environment and withstand snowfall, fog and rain.

Classic veranda design

Structurally, a veranda or terrace attached to the house will be a small podium that will be raised above the ground by means of a foundation of one of the types. Beams are used as support. Based on the design options, the veranda can be:

  • closed;
  • partially closed;
  • completely open.

Closed verandas

This type of construction is perfect for everyday use, regardless of the weather outside the window. In addition, a veranda of this type can be considered a separate room that can be used. On frosty days in the room it is comfortable to read a book in a warm blanket, or drink warm tea, enjoying the beauty that opens outside the window. When carrying out interior finishing work, you should think about the full-fledged insulation of each of the walls. Thus, heating bills in the cold season will be significantly lower.

Partially enclosed veranda room

Such a room will be protected from rain and at the same time remain as open as possible, thereby ensuring the necessary level of safety for family members. The characteristic features include the presence of fences, which are frame structures made from timber and other lumber. It is also possible to use bricks and blocks, which should then be additionally sheathed on each side. Complete isolation from the surrounding atmosphere is absent, therefore the veranda will be used only in the warm season due to the peculiarities of the chosen design. Full protection from the wind is not provided, as well as obstacles to oblique drops from rain. In the winter season, you will need to cover the room with a cloth or regularly rake out snowdrifts.

Open veranda

Suitable only if the plot selected for construction is located on the sunny, leeward side of the house. The complete absence of any fences blurs the boundaries between the veranda and the house, expanding the available space. It makes no sense to make the floor high, as the difference will be felt strongly. Such a building is also relevant with the regular residence of guests on the territory of the house and children, who, in sunny weather, can equip themselves a playground on the street and at the same time remain under the supervision of adults. Construction costs will be minimal, since few consumables are required. The most stringent requirements are imposed on quality, since the structure will not have additional protection against moisture and bad weather and all year round stay out in the open.

Ceiling surface arrangement

Before proceeding with the improvement of the veranda ceiling from the inside, all wooden elements should be covered with protective impregnations (antiseptic). After that, you should proceed with the installation of the base - the frame, for the manufacture of which you will need wooden bars in the size of 50x50 or 30x50. The timber belongs to the category of lumber, which also needs additional processing by means of antiseptic compounds. The bars are attached to the surface of the rafters (roof) by means of long nails or self-tapping screws. The fixing step will be 35-40 cm. Installation is carried out in a horizontal direction to avoid the subsequent accumulation of drops and snow at the joints. To check the quality of the installation, use building level.

Waterproofing should be placed on the rafters, which will ensure the proper thermal insulator of the finishing materials used and protect the structure from excessive moisture and precipitation. The following can be used as heat-insulating material:

  • Styrofoam;
  • mineral wool;
  • other well-known heaters.

Only after laying the heat-insulating material should proceed to the installation of the selected sheathing on the surface of the veranda ceiling. The easiest way is to work with a wooden clapboard, the installation of which is carried out perpendicular to the existing bars from the frame. The material is nailed by means of galvanized nails directly into the highlanders. After finishing the surface cladding with the lining, the surface is sanded and coated with any of the available protective compounds, varnish or paint. When using PVC panels as a finishing material, the sequence of works will look like this:

  1. To begin with, the initial profile is attached directly to the crate (wooden), with which it will be possible to dock the individual panels together.
  2. Panel sheets are inserted into the grooves of the initial profile. For this, self-tapping screws or special (expensive) clamps are used.
  3. The next panel element is inserted into the groove, the fastening of which is carried out in the same way.
  4. The sequence of work remains unchanged until the end of the material or work surface.
  5. Plastic material tends to expand when heated (sunlight). To avoid further deformation, you should leave 1-2 cm gaps between the elements.

As a finishing material when arranging a ceiling for a veranda, you can use MDF, siding panels. This option is recognized as the simplest, since the material can be purchased at any store that is able to offer many color and texture variations. For homeowners, variety of choices and affordable cost are considered paramount. When using gypsum plasterboards when sheathing the surface of the ceiling, you will need to arrange a wooden lathing. In this case, you should consider the option of the subsequent use of a metal profile. Fixing the sheets to the profile is carried out by means of self-tapping screws. The finished surface is putty, sanded, and then finished with any material classified as finishing.

The floor and walls of the veranda: arrangement

Finishing work aimed at improving the appearance of the floor and walls is classified as simple and does not require outside intervention (hiring workers). To begin with, a wooden frame is made on the basis of bars. Installation must be carried out with utmost precision; a laser or building level is used for verification. If you plan to make the room suitable for use in cold weather, then you should take care of high-quality insulation. A waterproofing material should be laid in front of the insulation, which will help protect the selected finishing materials and the insulator from condensation and moisture accumulation. All wooden elements that are in the room must be treated with specialized protective compounds - antiseptics. Only then will the facing material be fixed to the wall surfaces.

Particular attention is paid to the floor located on the veranda. The conditions of subsequent use will determine the requirements and characteristics applicable to the finishing material. As floor covering can be used:

  • ceramic tile;
  • laminated panels;
  • massive board;
  • terrace board.

The choice in favor of a terrace board is considered optimal and moisture resistant laminate, which are better than others for arranging a terrace or veranda. They are simple to install, moreover, they are characterized as durable and not demanding in further maintenance. It is possible to use such materials, subject to the arrangement of premises in which glazing is temporarily absent or not provided at all. In this case, PVC panel or ceramic tiles can be used as an alternative as more traditional materials. Linoleum can lie down, however, a type of moisture-resistant material is expensive, which is not justified given the existing performance characteristics.

External finishing works

After considering the materials that can participate in the interior finishing work, it is necessary to deal with the types of materials that can be used in the behavior of the exterior finishing work of the veranda. It is possible to use ordinary lining, but the quality of the material does not speak in its favor. Despite the use of various impregnations and protective compounds, the tree will quickly deteriorate, losing its decorative properties with regular exposure to aggressive environmental factors. Annual treatments are expensive and can undermine family budget... When using the lining, you should pay attention to the fact that the installation is carried out in a horizontal direction, in which the groove spikes will be directed upwards. Fixation is carried out in several rows - from the side of the groove and the tenon.

Siding

The most economical and easy-to-use finishing material used for exterior decoration.

In recent years, siding has been in great demand among finishing materials. Provided that brick covered with decorative plaster was used for facing the house, the upcoming work in the form of framing the building with siding will perfectly fit into the existing ensemble. The most popular is vinyl siding. In addition to its reasonable cost, the material has excellent performance properties. The ease of installation also speaks in favor of vinyl siding. As a finishing material for facades, it is customary to use horizontal siding with locking joints placed on it.

Installation technology:

  1. First you need to take care of the crate. For these purposes, a beam with a section of 40x50 mm or an uncut board is suitable. Along the entire working surface, the elements are fixed vertically in steps of 35-50 cm. Additional bars are arranged around the windows, as well as in the corners of the house along the edge located below.
  2. The starting profile is mounted on the bottom and attached to the crate by means of self-tapping screws. The location should be horizontal.
  3. It was the turn of the corner profiles in the outer and inner corners, as well as around the door and window openings.
  4. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the edges of the lower corner profile should be slightly lowered below the level of the starting rail by 0.5 cm.
  5. Now it is the turn of the installation and pre-cutting of the purchased vinyl siding panels. Cutting the material is not difficult. To do this, use an electric jigsaw, a hacksaw or a jigsaw for working on metal.
  6. The panel is slightly bent in the center, after which the edges are inserted into the grooves of the corner profiles.
  7. After aligning the panel, the bottom edge is inserted into the starter bar.
  8. Through pre-prepared holes, the upper edges of the panels are fixed by means of self-tapping screws. Do not press the panels tightly to the sheathing surface. Oval holes are responsible for the free movement of the web along the mounted self-tapping screws when heated. A gap of several millimeters is left between the crate and the cap.
  9. The subsequent plank is carefully wound into the corner profile, snaps into place after it enters the groove, and then is attached to the crate.
  10. Before installing the last plank, the finishing profile is laid strictly according to the level. After strips are cut from the siding sheet the right sizes, are inserted and snapped into the previous strip. The free profile is placed in the finishing profile.
  11. The veranda is ready. The appearance is excellent.

Over time, the vinyl will expand slightly as it heats up, so the panels should be 0.5 cm shorter than the wall.

Arrangement of an unheated veranda

When choosing a material that is planned to be used for interior finishing work, many options should be considered. There are not many of them. The list consists of softwood lining, OSB boards of a waterproof type, plastic panels... The main problem that owners of unheated verandas will face is the formation of condensation that will form on the inner surface of the selected material. Structures containing cellulose or its fiber (MDF and fiberboard) should not be used. Even by covering the material with protective compounds, it will not be possible to exclude swelling of matter from excess moisture. The panels will become skewed, which will lead to the subsequent breakage of the previously used fasteners.

In this case, preference should be given to PVC panels. Such material does not lend itself to decay processes, the choice of color is wide, the cost is acceptable compared to cedar or oak lining. If necessary, for cladding, you can use plastic panels, which are painted to resemble precious woods or natural stone. A monochromatic surface will also look interesting. Everything will depend on the interior decoration of the room. When using PVC plates, the frame is pre-equipped on the basis of a galvanized profile. The permissible step when attaching the profile strips to the wall surface is 6 cm.

It is much more convenient and practical to sheathe PVC surfaces with vertical strips. The profile will be equipped with horizontal rows. As an insulating material for the arrangement external walls, foil-clad polyethylene or isolon can be used, the cost of which is low in comparison with other materials, taking into account the acceptable characteristics. Walls located inside can be sheathed with mineral-based thermal insulation, provided that an auxiliary layer (located inside) is arranged, consisting of a vapor barrier membrane.

The room will need forced (auxiliary) ventilation, since plastic will create an increased level of humidity, just like glass. On summer cottages this problem is very common. To remove the accumulated moisture in the form of steam, you will need a flow-type ventilation arrangement. Otherwise on interior walls ah frost is formed. Polyvinyl chloride is not suitable for interior finishing works in the best way. Plastic belongs to the category of fire-hazardous materials that easily break down with an inadvertent impact in the cold. Low temperatures make plastic incredibly brittle. Whenever possible, natural wood should be used for interior finishing work, the service life of which is calculated for decades.

Glazed veranda decoration

When decorating the interior in a glazed veranda, you should adhere to the same rules as when arranging loggias. There is more space on the veranda, which provides more opportunities for applying various design tricks. In fact, verandas belong to the category of summer buildings, but no one forbids connecting several heaters or insulating additional room... If the room is heated or insulated, then the choice of finishing materials will be wider. It is possible to install stained-glass windows, instead of a roof, a glass structure, due to which the room will become incredibly light and cozy.

Many do not trust glass structures because direct sunlight can render almost any coating unusable after a while. However, over time, a solution was found and it became possible to use a special frosted glass on an acrylic basis. Wide and heavy curtains or blinds can be used as an additional element. The design of the ceiling will directly depend on how the roof was built. In addition to natural wood, as a finishing material, it is possible to use drywall, plastic, MDF, the surface of which, if desired, can be painted. Some people prefer polystyrene tiles.

False ceilings will look equally attractive. Wall decoration can be done using different materials using different ways and technology. Light colors are preferable, as they visually make the room spacious and light. Tiles, parquet, carpet can be used as flooring. It will not be superfluous and soft furniture, which will stand for years, subject to implementation correct finish... Comfortable rest implies the availability of comfortable furniture and auxiliary accessories.

The choice of materials for covering the veranda is a responsible process, since further comfort during your stay in the room depends on the right decision.

Own house with a terrace or veranda is the dream of many inhabitants of standard city apartments. The owners of such houses are faced with other problems - the selection of materials for the decoration of the house and the choice of what can be used to hem the ceiling on the terrace. The special operating conditions in the case of open spaces make their own adjustments to the process of selecting a suitable design.

Features of operation

Repair and decoration of the floors of this part of the house must be carried out taking into account certain requirements. First of all, they must be easily tolerated outside the living space, since most of these premises are not closed and are not heated. The next requirement is moisture resistance. If it rains or snows, the humidity in the surrounding air will increase, which can negatively affect the appearance of the coating.

One of the main requirements for decorated surfaces will be their excellent appearance. Not all materials can provide it. Therefore, based on the conditions in which the coating will be used and the requirements for appearance, several finishes that are best suited will be considered below. It will also indicate which materials should not be used.

What types of finishes are not suitable

Some types of songs are not recommended. This is due to the fact that the conditions in which the floor will be operated in this part of the house are usually far from ideal. Frequent changes in temperatures, exposure to cold air in winter and a humid atmosphere after rains in summer do not contribute to the preservation of the planes in their original form. Therefore, when choosing how to sheathe the ceiling on an open terrace, you should not be guided by the following options:

  • Drywall - it will simply get wet and it is better not to use even moisture-resistant varieties.
  • Untreated wood - without special impregnations and surface protection, such a structure will not last long.
  • PVC stretch fabric - negative temperatures in winter they will render it unusable.

The rest of the finishes can be used without any restrictions. If the veranda is insulated and closed, then you can even install structures made of PVC film, which will allow you to transform this room as quickly as possible.

What can be used

Another good option for decorating a ceiling on a terrace is panel or rack structures. Panel coverings can be made of plastic or MDF. The first option will be more preferable, since plastic is not afraid of water or cold, but MDF does not tolerate them well. Rack covers are also great as they are generally made of metal that can withstand the harshest operating conditions.

Design options

A more accurate idea of how the ceiling on the terrace might look like will be given by a few photos below. According to them, you can choose the appropriate type of design for the veranda, and installation in most cases is easy to carry out independently. The only exception will be stretch coverings, which will be assembled by a team of specialists.

Ceiling decoration

Clapboard ceiling decoration

It is recommended to start with a thorough impregnation of all elements made of natural wood with a special antiseptic composition. So you can save the structure from premature decay and protect it from the encroachment of gluttonous insects.

After the antiseptic treatment, you can proceed to the installation of the frame base. The wooden lathing is made of a bar with a section of 30x50, 50x50 mm is also suitable. The frame material also requires pretreatment with antiseptic agents.

The beams are fixed on the roof rafter system self-tapping screws. It is allowed to fix the crate using long nails. When installing the frame base on rafters, it is recommended to observe a step between the bars of 30-40 cm. The use of a building level allows the horizontal orientation of the wooden elements to be preserved.

The simplest cladding option is considered to be the use of wooden lining. Fragments of the finishing material are fixed on the lathing perpendicular to the beams of the frame base. Galvanized nails are used as fasteners.

It should be noted that the ceiling finished with wooden clapboard acquires a complete look after grinding and varnishing.

What is a veranda for and what are its functions

What is a Veranda? it small room, most often, attached to one of the walls of the house. The building is more intended for use during the warmer months, therefore heating on the veranda is not provided. The veranda can be closed or open (under one roof, glazed or not). Naturally, the interior decoration will still have to be thought out, because it is impossible to leave this part of the building with bare walls.

It is good if the veranda will complement the overall interior of the house, so it is important to take into account all the nuances and choose suitable building materials.

Before figuring out how you can sheathe a veranda from the inside, let's get acquainted with the types of verandas:

  • combined veranda - you need to enter the house through the veranda (common main entrance). Or another version of the combined veranda, then you can get into this room from another room. You will not be able to go outside through the veranda.

When the veranda was not provided for during the construction of the house (this structure is absent in the project), the owners decide to independently attach the veranda to the house or even abandon this venture. You can build a veranda yourself, you do not need to invite a construction team and punch a hole in the wall of the house, you can make an extension close to the main facade, directly in front of the front door, then you do not need to break load-bearing wall and carry out heating.

What else needs to be considered when building a veranda:

  1. The structure must be in harmony with the overall structure of the house. For the reliability and stability of the extension, you will have to make a foundation. It is advisable that you have time to complete all the work before the onset of cold weather, so that the ground does not crouch, and the structure itself does not move away from the wall.
  2. In order not to spoil general form, it is worth considering in advance what materials can be used to build a veranda.
  3. It is advisable to erect a columnar base (that is, a foundation) under the structure in order to be sure that the veranda will firmly "stand". The choice of the type of foundation is very important not only for this reason, because the extension will have to be sheathed from the inside. Often at the construction stage, the owners of a private house or summer house are interested in how to sheathe a cold veranda. The choice of materials is huge, it is important to choose the golden mean and take into account the load on the foundation.
  4. If you want to build a large veranda, 2 or more meters long, then you will have to strengthen the foundation structure and make additional brick supports.

How can you sheathe the veranda outside? Popular materials are decorative rock, hollow decorative bricks, lining, ceramic tiles. It all depends on the budget and personal preference. It is desirable that the veranda does not differ from the house itself.

In order for the work to argue, it is possible to sheathe the inside of the veranda in a few days, if you have the necessary finishing materials and tools.

For work you will need:

  • power tools: screwdriver, electric jigsaw, drill, puncher;
  • building level and plumb line;
  • pencil or marker, building meter;
  • fasteners: screws, rail slots, staples, nails.

What can be used

The most suitable material for making a ceiling on the terrace is boards or lining. The tree, which will serve as the basis for the composition in this case, is natural natural material and it looks great. In addition, the cost of finishing with a board or clapboard will not be too high, and all the work can be done independently.

The disadvantage of this solution will be the not too long service life of the tree without special processing. However, in stores there are enough different impregnations and varnishes to protect the surface. wooden structure... It is enough just to process all surfaces after installation and then they will last much longer.

The stretch cover can be used if it is made from specially treated fabric.

However, the strength of the canvas is rather low and some rules must be observed during installation - the height of such a ceiling on the terrace should be large, since there is a risk of damaging the thin fabric by negligence. The advantages of this design include an excellent appearance, the ability to choose textures and a rich color range.

Another good option for decorating a ceiling on a terrace is panel or rack structures. Panel coverings can be made of plastic or. The first option will be more preferable, since plastic is not afraid of water or cold, but MDF does not tolerate them well. Rack covers are also great as they are generally made of metal that can withstand the harshest operating conditions.

MDF for veranda

For you can use MDF. These are blocks in the form of wide boards, which have a length of 2.6-3 m and a width of 15-30 cm. Today, a fairly large color range of panels is offered, which makes it possible to decorate a room in almost any style. In addition, the surface of the panels can imitate the surface of natural wood.

Of the advantages that differ MDF paneling, it should be noted:

  • visual appeal, a variety of color shades;
  • practicality, such panels can be easily washed, dirt hardly accumulates on their surface, and dust can be easily removed with an ordinary damp cloth;
  • extremely simple installation of the lathing lathing;
  • acceptable cost.

Installation of such panels is easy, it is enough to strengthen the rails for the frame on the surface. The thickness of such wooden slats is only 2 cm, the width is 4 cm.

The slats are fastened with nails, they perfectly eliminate small irregularities in the walls, making it possible to do without time-consuming and expensive leveling.

The scheme of covering the veranda with clapboard.

In the work, it is necessary to use a special plumb line or a building level so that the wall cladding turns out to be even and neat.

The panels themselves have grooves, with the help of which the fastening is strong and reliable. Before nailing one panel next to another, insert it all the way into the groove. The panels are very easy to cut if necessary. For cutting, you can use a regular jigsaw or saw. Ceiling and floor joints can be covered with a special skirting board in the selected color.

A wide variety of colors of the material allows you to use the most unexpected combinations for decoration. The veranda wall, sheathed with MDF panels of two or even three colors, turns out to be much more advantageous and interesting than finishing with expensive plaster. In this way, you can zone a large veranda, arranging a separate sitting area, dining area, outdoor work space.

Requirements for finishing material

Before looking for material and a way to sheathe the veranda inside, you need to look at the conditions of the room, and only then look for the right material inexpensively.

Let's dwell on the main ones:

  • Indoor temperature and humidity. It depends on which side of the house the veranda is located on, sunny or shady, whether it is possible to sheathe the walls inside with materials based on cellulose fibers, or whether you have to buy plastic, inexpensively and reliably;
  • The frequency of people living in the house and using the premises. For a house in which a constant temperature is not maintained, and people live with long interruptions in time, the problem of how to sheathe the walls inside turns into a question of combating water condensation;
  • The age of the veranda and the entire building. There is no point in trying to sheathe the walls inside the room until the processes of shrinkage of the foundation and the building box are over.

In the simplest case, you can sheathe the walls from the inside. cement particle board, very inexpensive, practically not afraid of dampness, does not give warping even with strong condensation. But from an aesthetic and practical point of view, most owners would like the cladding inside the veranda, first of all, to be comfortable and safe for health, and only then it was inexpensive and practical. Therefore, out of more than two dozen cladding options, we will leave only the most suitable for the listed requirements.

For your information! For a newly built veranda made of wood, it is advisable to make a temporary sheathing of tongue-and-groove planks.

How to sheathe a veranda with wall shrinkage, inexpensively and efficiently

Instead of the traditional vertical planking, you can sheathe the walls with horizontal padding on a cross batten. It will turn out to be inexpensive and practical. To prevent the finish from being ripped off the walls during shrinkage, the board is stuffed with a maximum gap at the spike-groove joint and the obligatory laying of insulation, for example, from expanded polyethylene.

After three to four years, the veranda trim can be inexpensively updated:

  • Remove the board, insulation and crate;
  • Treat wood with antiseptic impregnation, stain and varnish;
  • Lay the lathing, insulation and sheathe the walls again, but with the correct gaps in the joints between the boards.

In this way, you can inexpensively sheathe any room in a house made of wood, a sauna from a bar. For brick and block buildings with significantly less shrinkage, the veranda can be immediately sheathed according to the finishing scheme.

Outdoor decoration

The house will be wooden. Perhaps, with the decoration of the facades, it is not yet known what. Therefore, I am considering all possible options.

1 - Wood

The ideal material to combine with any other and allow you to realize the most different design from the Russian village with twisted pillars and carvings to the modern one with square-section beams.

Here are some combinations for example:

  • Wood + wood;

Wooden house with an open veranda

Closed structure, finished with wooden lining

  • Wood, glass, forged items;

Modern frameless glazing blends perfectly with wood

  • Wood and brick.

Brick house with a wooden veranda

The only one, but weighty lack of wood - its instability to precipitation and other weather and natural phenomena, including the sun's rays and bugs that love to gnaw and live in it. Well, and the fire hazard.

The instruction prescribes that it is imperative to process construction wood with all kinds of fire retardant and antifungal impregnations, and cover it with paints and varnishes.

In my humble opinion, such processing deprives the tree of its main positive properties- environmental friendliness. In addition, it must be repeated periodically so that the structure does not lose its attractive appearance. And this plunges me into despondency due to natural laziness and the knowledge that there is enough work in the house even without annual paintwork.

Wood is an aesthetic and natural material, but rather capricious

2 - Brick and stone

The foundation and supports holding the roof of the veranda attached to the house can be made of brick, stone or concrete. This design goes well with the main structure of a similar material or plastered, lined with artificial stone, basement siding.

Base and supports made of sulfurless blocks. The design looks very impressive, solid

Brickwork of the veranda - continuation of the house

Such an extension to a wooden building would look somewhat ridiculous and alien.

3 - Plastic

Plastic double-glazed windows, vinyl siding - all these and similar artificial materials perfectly tolerate any weather disasters:

  • are not afraid of moisture,
  • frost,
  • heat,
  • practically do not fade from the sun.

And if you really decide how to decorate the veranda outside, so as not to think more about maintaining it in its original form, then preference should be given to them.

  • Plastic insulating glass units themselves are both a supporting structure and a glazing. The option presented below is very convenient to use: such surfaces are easy to care for, the veranda with the windows and doors closed becomes almost airtight, and it will stand for many years.

Plastic insulating glass construction with sandwich panels

  • But I don't like it externally, I would choose not white plastic, but wood-like. Or a completely transparent design like this:

The photo shows wood trim repeating the railings of the balcony. But even without it, the general view is much more attractive than in the previous picture.

  • Another popular material is cellular polycarbonate. It can be both transparent and colored, which allows you to visually connect the veranda with the house into a single ensemble. In combination with metal frame, it is used both to create a transparent or translucent canopy for an open veranda, and as the main material for the construction of a closed one.

Polycarbonate canopy

This closed design with sliding doors resembles a greenhouse

  • Soft windows. Another type of PVC materials. They are a dense transparent film, edged around the perimeter durable material with mounting holes. It is mounted on a frame, mostly wooden.
    Soft windows are comfortable because they are not afraid of moisture and do not rot, they can be easily dismantled for the summer and returned to the place with the arrival of bad weather, on on their own turning a closed veranda into an open one and vice versa.

Removable PVC film window-walls

  • Vinyl siding. In my opinion, such an exterior finish looks good - only if it is a continuation of the facades of the house. But I have a personal inexplicable bias towards this material, connected exclusively with the appearance.
    Perhaps because there was too much of it around. But with a limited budget, I admit this option.

Siding decoration

Basement siding under a stone or brick looks much more solid, moreover, it is thicker and stronger than wall siding.

PVC panels for interior decoration of the veranda

What else can you sheathe the veranda with? You can save money and sheathe the walls inside the extension with plastic panels. This finishing material perfectly adapts to increased humidity and temperature changes. PVC panels are an inexpensive and practical material. The cost of the panels is low, everyone can cope with the installation, it is very easy to take care of the panels. It is enough to wipe the walls with a slightly damp sponge. By the way, due to the ease of installation and the inexpensive cost of this finishing material, PVC panels can be renewed every 3-5 years, changing the appearance of the room. Let's say you liked the panels that imitate wood - you can try to make this room in an eco-style. If you are tired of the “wood-like” walls, the panels can be easily replaced with new ones that imitate fabric, metal surfaces and even a natural stone... A wide selection of textures and shades, plus low cost and ease of installation - these are the main advantages of PVC panels. By the way, not only the walls on the veranda, but also the ceiling can be sheathed with panels.

To cope with the work yourself, you will need a wooden rail for the frame (size 30x20 mm or 30x10 mm). If there is no tree, then you can purchase a special profile (for fastening drywall). Please note that here you need to choose the material for the frame, taking into account the type of veranda. If the walls protrude outward, then it is better to buy wooden slats, since the metal will be a "cold bridge".

The panels are attached to the frame using fastening material (screws or nails), only you need to leave a small gap between the ceiling and the wall for the board to "breathe". A gap of 2-3 cm will be sufficient.

This finishing material has not only advantages, but also disadvantages: the panels are fragile, so if you accidentally hook on the wall while bringing furniture onto the veranda, you can break the panels.

Advice: if you plan to equip the veranda as a summer dining room, then in order for the backs of the chairs not to deform the walls made of PVC panels, it is advisable to nail additional protection to the wall at the level of the back. A decorative wooden plank with a pattern or a board covered with a beautiful fabric looks beautiful. It will turn out beautifully and unusual, and the veranda will become your favorite resting place.

Self-supporting PVC panel veranda ceiling

PVC panels on the ceiling of the veranda

It will take a little more effort than covering it with natural wooden clapboard. By diligently following the proposed recommendations, you can easily finish the ceiling country veranda do it yourself, saving on the costly call of a team of professional veneers.

  1. The starting profile is securely fixed to the wooden lathing. Subsequently, individual plastic fragments are connected with its help into a one-piece ceiling structure.
  2. Panel sheets are fixed in the grooves of the original profile. The stability and reliability of the system is facilitated by the use of special clamps. It is allowed to use self-tapping screws available to every home craftsman as fasteners.
  3. Installation of the next panel is carried out in the same way of fixing in the initial profile.
  4. The further process is a periodic sequence of the manipulations described above.

When performing self-assembly, it is necessary to take into account the ability of the plastic material to expand when heated. The presence of a small gap of up to 20 mm will help protect the ceiling structure from troubles caused by the negative influence of heat.

What materials need to be prepared before making a siding ceiling on the veranda

In order to sheathe the ceiling with siding, guide profiles are required, wooden beams and vinyl siding.

To begin with, of course, it is necessary to correctly calculate the amount of materials and decide on what else should be stored before the repair begins. In this case, you will need:

  • vinyl siding;
  • guide profiles for fastening it;
  • wooden beams.

Price Supplies will be about $ 5 per 1 sq.m. If you also want to install recessed ceiling lighting, then, in addition to wiring, you will need to purchase lamps in advance.

For installation, you will need, in addition to materials, also tools. These include:

  • saw for wood;
  • screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • puncher;
  • roulette;
  • scissors;
  • pencil.

The pitch of the bars is 30-40 cm

At the same time, it is important to observe the horizontal installation of wooden elements, for which you need to use the building level.

Also, a waterproofing material must be fixed to the rafters, which will protect the heat insulator and finishing materials from moisture. Thermal insulation materials in the case of a veranda can be mineral wool slabs, polystyrene and other traditional insulation.

  • During the installation process, it is necessary to leave a small gap of 10-20 mm in size, which will ensure trouble-free expansion of the plastic material when exposed to high temperatures.

Heaters for the ceiling on the veranda

When choosing a finishing material for the ceiling, do not forget about insulation. There are a huge number of manufacturers who are happy to offer a wide selection of insulation material. Among the most common are mineral wool and foam. But recently, penoplex has also become popular. There are materials in the market in different thicknesses: from 1 cm to 5 cm.

Thanks to high-quality materials, you can well insulate the veranda, while a lot of money will be saved.

Penofol is a modern material, a high-tech heat insulator made of foamed polyethylene, which is covered with a sheet of aluminum foil on top. It can be used in conjunction with other thermal insulation materials, but among them penofol is the most effective.
If you remembered about insulation in the cold season, then you can carry out all the work indoors. Modern insulation can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

Execute renovation work the ceiling on the veranda or terrace is easy on your own. There is a wide variety of materials on the market for ceiling decoration. There are both expensive and budget options. Many people choose cheap materials, but they are as effective and aesthetic as expensive ones. They are able to perfectly tolerate high and low temperatures, and are also not afraid of mold and mildew. Their main advantage is the ability self installation, and all the work will take not so much time.

What kind of corrugated board is better for the roof of the house?

How to paint the floor on the veranda in the country with your own hands

Painting your veranda is an excellent option to protect your floor finish. The paint protects the floor from damage and corrosion. Various materials lend themselves to painting:

  • wood - boards, MDF, decking;
  • concrete.

How to paint the floor on the veranda in the country, except not with acrylic paint

For painting the wooden floor of an open veranda, acrylic, alkyd, nitro-enamel and oil paints are most optimal. For good woods, you can also use wood stain or varnish. Before painting the veranda board, the floor must be cleaned from the remnants of the previous paint, if any, and sanded.

When painting, you need to dip a brush or roller from excess - otherwise, accumulations of paint will form in the recesses, which will spoil the appearance. It is better to polish the varnish after painting, otherwise it will be too slippery for walking.

Concrete floors are best painted with epoxy, acrylic or polyurethane enamel. Epoxy paint is not completely painted - it is rather “rolled” on the floor with a special spatula to an even layer. It does not wear off over time and gives a very bright color.

How to paint the floor on the veranda in the country? Choose acrylic paint and polyurethane enamel. They are applied with a regular brush or roller. Before painting, it is better to clean the surface from dust and prime it, which will ensure a better adhesion of the paint.

Plastic paneling

A good option would be finishing with plastic panels. It should be noted that the use of panels is a common solution for all types and designs, since plastic Wall panels relatively inexpensive, lightweight, easy to install and are not afraid of moisture or temperature extremes. If necessary, they are quickly replaced with new ones.

A metal slatted ceiling can also be used. It is made, most often, of aluminum, so exposure to moisture or temperature changes is not terrible for it. Aluminum does not rust, does not lose its appearance and is quite suitable for decoration in any conditions, both on open and closed verandas.

Closed veranda ceiling

Closed rooms are much more favorable for cladding materials in terms of operating conditions. However, there are two types:

  • Unheated.
  • Heated.

Oddly enough, for an unheated veranda, the operating mode is to some extent milder, since there are almost no temperature changes. Compared to outdoor conditions, closed rooms have softer and smoother temperature regimes. The main problem is condensation, which settles on cold surfaces when warm air enters from inside the house or outside, when the sun's rays have already heated the air to some extent. Therefore, it is not recommended to install ceilings made of materials that do not tolerate moisture on unheated verandas. For example, suspended ceiling type "Armstrong" will fail pretty quickly.

If you hem the ceiling with clapboard, then you just need to pre-saturate the material with antiseptic and fire retardant compounds, which protect from decay and reduce the degree of flammability of the wood. Plywood surfaces show themselves well, but they also need processing. on the veranda it is very common, since it is easiest to sheathe it with sheet materials and you can do it yourself.

Heated verandas, in fact, are similar to full-fledged interior areas of a house, so the choice of material is the widest. You can finish the ceiling in any style and using any materials. Most often, the design is made in the same style with all the other rooms of the house, but there are other solutions. In particular, a stretch fabric ceiling can be installed, or suspended structures any type.

Rare repair methods

If you want to be known as the original, then when choosing how to sheathe the ceiling on your veranda, you can pay attention to one of the materials named below. They have not yet earned such popularity as the previous ones, but they look very original and are suitable for decorating this part of the house according to their characteristics.

  • Moisture resistant plywood - it is quite suitable as very original way registration. You will need to additionally cover the surface with varnish or stain, but such a ceiling looks very beautiful.
  • ... You will also need to choose the variety that can withstand the effects of water. The appearance of the coating depends on the assortment of the store - the choice is very rich.
  • Reed or bamboo wicker mats. Such designs are very original, although it is not very easy to find such materials on sale. They are used as an external coating on an already installed base surface of slabs.

In principle, there are a lot of finishing options.

It is important to consider whether the room will be open or closed. For open verandas or areas with partial glazing, it is better to choose a finish with increased resistance to weathering and durability.

Completely enclosed areas can be decorated with less weather-resistant materials.

Wall decoration on the veranda inside

One of the popular ways to make a closed-type terrace not only beautiful, but also warm is to decorate the veranda with plastic panels (you can see this option in the photo).

By itself, it is a lightweight structure, therefore, the interior decoration of the veranda in the country (the photo illustrates one of the options), the ability to make windows without using a double-glazed window. It will be much more effective to take care of the insulation of the floor and walls. As a decoration inside the veranda in the country, moisture-resistant gypsum plasterboards are suitable; first, you should hydrophobize the walls of the structure on both sides: from the inside and outside. To insulate the walls, you can use mineral wool or extruded polystyrene foam. The interior decoration of the veranda (photo) is a lining of insulation, which is carefully layered with a vapor barrier film, and sheets of MDF, drywall are applied on top, reinforced PVC panels or clapboard.

Advice! When choosing mineral wool as insulation, remember about its moisture absorption, so that soon the insulation does not crumble into dust, provide waterproofing to the walls!

Wall panels for interior decoration for the veranda can be made of any material, even painted with decorative plaster. Wooden panels will look very impressive and respectable, but you need to remember that they need to be cared for. It is cheaper and more practical to finish the veranda with an imitation of a bar (photo), even on an open structure, this type is preferable due to its durability.

Finishing the walls and floor of the veranda

It is quite simple to decorate the walls of the veranda: first of all, it is necessary to mount a wooden frame made of bars

It is important to make the installation as smooth as possible, checking the accuracy of the installation with a building level.

Nice wood paneling.

If you intend to make a warm veranda, then after installing the wooden sheathing, the walls must be insulated with a suitable thermal insulation material. Before installing the insulation, a waterproofing film is installed, which will protect the insulator and finishing materials from moisture and condensation. All wood materials used must be treated with an antiseptic compound. After that, the selected facing material is attached to the wall.

The veranda flooring needs special attention. The choice of this or that type of coating will largely depend on the operating conditions.

For finishing the veranda floor, you can use a terrace or solid board, laminated panels, ceramic tiles and other popular flooring materials. Waterproof laminate and decking are the best option for finishing.

Features of finishing the summer veranda and porch

The specificity of these elements of the house is such that they are located on the border of the internal premises and the external parts of the structure. It is impossible to use materials that are unstable to changes in temperature or humidity. At the same time, the porch is almost completely outside, its design is considered as part of the external finishing work. For example, if siding is used for the walls, then it is logical to sheathe the porch ceiling with this material. For the veranda, the same rules apply - finding the best match for the style with the rest of the house.

The most suitable materials for these areas are:

  • Lining or block house... These are wooden grooved boards suitable for both exterior and interior decoration. They create a certain style and flavor, are durable and easy to install.
  • Siding... Installed indoors or outdoors. Sheathing is simple, but it requires compliance with certain rules, the main one of which is loose attachment to supporting structures for the possibility of temperature shifts.
  • Filing with chipboard, plywood or MDF... If you approach the issue correctly and design the surface in the style of a coffered ceiling, the result will be quite high-quality and attractive in a decorative sense. The main condition is to impregnate or apply at least two layers of paint on both sides of the panels to protect them from atmospheric humidity.
  • Metal slats... This option is quite expensive, but in terms of durability and practicality it is ahead of all other methods. Suitable for richly decorated interiors, well-groomed and solid, made in Hi-Tech style.
  • Cellular polycarbonate... The most popular material used for covering canopies and canopies over the porch. Easy to install and maintain.

The choice of finishing method is the prerogative of the home owner. The appearance directly depends on the craftsmanship and quality of the materials used.

Therefore, it is important to strictly follow all instructions and guidelines on the packaging in order to avoid erroneous actions and create a stylish, aesthetic version of the veranda design.

For closed analogs

Considering that there is not always heating in gazebos of this type, frost-resistant materials made of polyvinyl chloride will be needed. This refers to products with a smooth surface, resistant to moisture and temperature extremes. Structures of this type can withstand up to 80 liters of liquid per 1 m². Simple and quality installation possible without the participation of professional builders.

In the choice of materials, it is better to prefer suspended and rack structures made of natural wood. If there are a lot of tiles left in stock, try a cassette ceiling.

Minvata

Despite the low cost, this material absorbs noise well, is non-flammable and retains heat. It is acceptable to use it in private houses with high ceilings. If the height of the surfaces does not exceed 180 cm, it is better to refuse mineral wool. When choosing a heater, the first step is to evaluate its density, thermal conductivity and thickness. The ability of the owners to spend the winter on a terrace with maximum comfort for every household.

It is more logical to use glass wool in wooden structures. It is a fairly lightweight and refractory material. For better soundproofing of the premises, you will need stone wool with a long shelf life. If you need the most durable insulation that can be used even instead of gypsum plaster, buy ecowool.

Styrofoam

At prices such coatings are available only to well-off buyers. Of the advantages, it is worth highlighting:

  1. Light weight of products.
  2. Simple installation.
  3. Possibility of painting the panels.
  4. Good heat and sound insulation properties.
  5. Independent processing of parts without professional technology.
  6. Variability colors meeting the needs of people with different views on the sophistication of small architectural forms.

Seamless panels form an integral canvas without visible boundaries between individual pieces of products. If you choose the right pattern, it will turn out to hide the irregularities on the ceiling.

Polyurethane foam

This coating follows the relief of a hard surface well, so there is no need for a final fit. Material with an optimal thickness of 18–20 mm can actually be fixed even with the help of improvised means. To do this, you do not need to create heavy structures, which cannot be said about roll insulation. If you lay polyurethane foam not only inside, but also outside the room, you get:

  • keep up to 50% of the heat in the gazebo in the cold winter;
  • protect floor slabs from 40-degree frost;
  • to preserve the useful area of the structure, which is especially important for owners of compact lumber buildings;
  • fill voids, cracks and crevices in the ceiling;
  • protect metal structures from corrosion, and wooden structures from fungus and mold.

Penofol

Of the many modern materials designed for warming gazebos, he has practically no equal. The composition of penofol is dominated by synthetic components, due to which noise is better absorbed and heat is not cooled. From the outside, it is treated with heat-reflecting aluminum foil. As a result, even in a fierce winter, you can walk in your pajamas on a well-equipped veranda and watch movies until late at night.

Penofol cannot be fixed on self-tapping screws. Otherwise, it will cease to keep warm. It is better to replace self-tapping products with glue. The optimal gap between the insulation and the ceiling is 2.5 cm. Penofol consists of foil and food grade polyethylene by almost 45%. Therefore, the possibility of poisoning with toxic substances is excluded.

Insulation of the ceiling surface

Initially, it is worth understanding the amount of work and the necessary financial costs

This is especially important if the veranda ceiling is finished with your own hands. Suitable for insulation are expanded polystyrene, mineral wool, polystyrene, polyurethane foam

The most common and economical are foam and mineral wool. Their use will help make the veranda warm and cozy.

It is important to take into account in advance that the foam has a rather large thickness - about 12 cm. This feature leads to a decrease in the area of the room. Minvata is distinguished by higher heat retention rates. Its installation, in comparison with the previous material, is easier and faster. Thermal insulation with the use of an external foil coating and double metallization will help to insulate the terrace with high quality without unnecessary financial costs.

If the veranda is spacious, and the owner is going to use it in the winter, it is worth using the combined insulation technology. For this, a roll coating of mineral wool and sheet polystyrene is used.

Before insulating the ceiling, it is necessary to carry out the same procedure for the floor and walls. The surface is exposed to moisture, therefore it is important to create a reliable protection in the form of a waterproofing layer. Often, a special perforated film is used for this, which is fixed with metal-sprayed glue.

When installing wooden structures and insulation, you must use protective goggles, since small chips can get into the eyes.

Inexpensive finish wicker ceiling for the veranda

If you want an unusual veranda, make a wicker ceiling.

In order not to be boring, you can use the option of a wicker ceiling, which is perfect for a light garden furniture... Its surface slightly resembles the walls of a basket, but the coating is reliable and stylish.

Today, such a coating can be easily assembled with your own hands from ordinary plywood. For example, for a terrace with dimensions of 6 * 2.3 m, 6 sheets of plywood 1220 * 2440 mm with a thickness of 3 mm are required. It is better to take plywood moisture resistant. Using a conventional machine, the sheets must be cut into separate strips 10 cm wide. All ribbons must be smooth and neat so that the weaving is beautiful and durable.

Weaving is first performed on a flat and free floor surface. If the weather is fine, then you can lay a film on the lawn, spread the materials and start weaving outside. Weaving is performed in a checkerboard pattern; no fasteners are required at the end. In order for the individual strips to fit snugly, it is necessary to knock them out with a rubber mallet. The tails of the ribbons must be hidden on the seamy side. Such a wicker ceiling turns out to be very durable, even if the canvas is lifted, it does not diverge in different directions, but keeps its shape perfectly.

But the installation may raise some questions, since the weight of the coating is impressive, it is definitely not possible for one person to lift it up. Usually, ropes are used for this, block systems that help to raise the canvas in stages. It is fastened with slate nails.

It is necessary to start the ascent from the door, i.e. from the narrow edge of the resulting carpet. Next, you should gradually move on to the rest of the parts, strengthening the coating on the ceiling. A rope is drawn under the edge, the material rises slowly upward. Scheme of an isolated terrace.

  • strength, resistance to mechanical stress and shock;
  • practicality;
  • attractive appearance;
  • delightful smell of natural wood;

A solid board consists of a single, processed piece of wood, which can be chosen for finishing the interior walls of the veranda. It must be remembered that the lining is additionally divided into 4 classes. But the "extra" class, which is distinguished by the highest cost ", is a spliced lining, that is, it should not be taken for a veranda. Classes A, B, C - solid materials that may have slight knots on the surface. The material of such classes has already been treated with putty, which greatly simplifies the finishing work. When buying material, it is necessary not only to clarify the type of lining, but also to open the pack, since defective strips are often encountered.

The installation of the material is extremely simple, it is carried out on a crate pre-fixed to the wall, but the strips themselves can be attached in several ways:

  • using galvanized nails that are driven into the surface of the board;
  • using self-tapping screws for wood, the caps of which are closed with a dowel. The result is a hidden mount;
  • when using a conventional construction stapler;
  • using metal clamps.

After installation, the inner lining of the veranda is covered with colorless varnish or a special glaze with UV protection. This allows the material to last longer.

For the interior cladding of a room such as a veranda, you can use a variety of building materials, but with the condition that they can be used with changing humidity and temperature. Ceiling decoration

The beams are fixed to the roof truss system with self-tapping screws.

Self-supporting PVC panel veranda ceiling

It will take a little more effort than covering it with natural wooden clapboard. Diligently following the proposed recommendations, it is possible without any particular difficulties to finish the ceiling of the summer cottage with your own hands, saving on the costly call of a team of professional cladders.

The use of other materials for finishing the ceiling

If you plan to clad the veranda with siding, such a coating is quite suitable for self-decoration of the ceiling. The installation process is similar to the installation of PVC panels. In the same way, you can finish the terrace ceiling with MDF boards. Manufacturers provide the construction market with a huge selection various designs siding and MDF, providing the growing popularity of these materials.

When using gypsum plasterboard sheets as a ceiling covering, it is recommended to replace the wooden frame elements with a metal profile. The installation of special elements is carried out directly on it. Such details are the basis for fixing drywall sheets. Self-tapping screws are used to fasten the fragments of the coating.

After fixing the drywall, it is recommended to prepare the surface for finishing. The ceiling must be putty and thoroughly cleaned.

Self-lining veranda walls

It is used only for closed premises. Open terraces do not require walls.

Finishing should begin with the formation of a frame system from wooden blocks. The accuracy of the installation is controlled by the building level.

Laying a special heat-insulating layer will allow in the future to use the veranda for relaxation and in a cool period. It is preliminarily recommended to protect the room from moisture and condensation. For this, a special waterproofing film is used, which is fixed under the insulation.

A prerequisite is the initial treatment of all wooden elements with an antiseptic composition. This precaution will protect the structure from rotting damage.

The simplest option for the internal facing of the veranda with your own hands is considered to be the decoration of the walls with wooden clapboard. Also, the increasing popularity is gained by covering from MDF panels. PVC products are in no less demand.

Veranda flooring

The choice of material for the terrace floor is determined by the operating conditions of the room. Today, solid or decking, ceramic tiles, laminate and other well-known finishing materials are used as the flooring of the veranda. Much depends on financial capabilities.

The best option for a summer cottage is a floor covered with a terrace board or waterproof laminate... Such materials are distinguished by the availability of self-assembly, unpretentious maintenance and durability.

An alternative solution is to use modern PVC panels for flooring or traditional ceramic tiles... Inventive and creative personalities prefer tiles due to the ability to embody their own fantasies. By arranging the fragments of the covering in a certain order, they create unique patterns and original ornaments under the feet. Wealthy owners of country estates can afford finishing with new linoleum models with improved performance characteristics complementing a fairly respectable appearance.

External cladding

The variety of modern finishing materials does not allow for their detailed description in one article. Therefore, we will consider the most popular options.

Many summer residents tend to sheathe the outer surface of the veranda with wooden clapboard. However, even careful processing with special compounds is not able to preserve the natural beauty of natural material for a long time. Changeable weather, atmospheric precipitation leave their mark, violating the pristine beauty of the cladding.

Manufacturers supply horizontal siding, which is usually used when performing facade work, with a special locking mechanism. Such a simple device makes it easy to connect separate fragments. This quality attracts ordinary people who want to independently implement outer cladding terraces.

It should be noted that the installation of siding panels is preceded by preparatory stage... It consists in the formation of a special frame (lathing), on which the plastic elements of the outer skin will be fastened.
