Design options

Deepening not only takes on a functional load, but is also an excellent decorative element, so the designers have developed several options for its design.

  • In the form of a box

This is a decorative structure with open shelves and various shelving units.

  • Niche on a smooth wall

There may also be drawers, lockers. It turns out a kind of plasterboard wall for a TV.

Additional shelves and racks can also be arranged in different ways:

  • Asymmetrical

This arrangement is suitable for ergonomic use of space. Suitable for zoned and combined rooms.

  • Symmetrically

The symmetrical niche will perfectly fit into the interior, furnished in classic style... You can thus place the TV in rooms designed for rest and sleep.

The niche made of plasterboard with backlighting for the TV is also very popular. Backlighting can serve not only as a decoration, but also as a separate source of lighting.

Sketch development

This is an important stage in creating a drywall construction for a TV. The more detailed you think about everything, the less likely that the work will need to be redone.

  1. The basis of the sketch is the drawn frame of the future niche. Here you should depict all verticals and horizontals, think over the location of all bearing profiles, take into account the load on them, etc .;
  2. Image of electrical wiring changes. Location of drywall sheets. Drawing the main lines of structures;
  3. Placement of finishing materials, taking into account their thickness, impact on general form constructions.

To make the calculations correct, adhere to the following recommendations:

  • The depth of the structure must match the length of the TV so that it does not protrude beyond the edges of the drywall sheets. If there is an outlet behind the TV, the depth must be increased several times more.
  • The shelf should be 20 cm wider than the TV. It is also necessary to leave a small distance on the sides so that it is convenient to connect and disconnect equipment

All other dimensions can be controlled at your own discretion.

Required tools and materials

Any installation work assumes the presence of certain tools and materials, without which it is impossible to complete it quickly and efficiently. To build a high-quality plasterboard niche in the living room for a TV, prepare:

  • Metal profiles. They will be needed to build a rigid frame - the basis of a future niche or drywall shelves for a TV. For any shape, you will need 2 rack-mount and 2 guide profiles. If the design of the structure is curved, you will also need an arched profile.
  • Plasterboard sheets. This is the main material for creating a groove. To fix them, you need to prepare special screws
  • Dowel. These are special fasteners that allow you to firmly fix the guide profiles. They are ideal for fastening metal frame to concrete and brick walls
  • Decoration Materials. Any plasterboard construction involves the use of compositions for leveling and processing. For this purpose, it is worth getting a putty and primer. To give the niche a beautiful, aesthetic look, tiles, wallpapers, mosaics, paint, etc. are used.
  • Tools. To work with metal profiles and drywall sheets, you need to acquire: a drill, a screwdriver, a screwdriver, a hacksaw, a plane, a construction knife, measuring instruments

The socket strip is usually located at the bottom. The wires will be hidden behind the TV.

Which finish to choose?

  • Dye

This option for finishing the niche under the TV with plasterboard is suitable if the putty is applied accurately and with high quality. To give the surface texture, use a special spatula to paint the paint.

  • Wallpaper

This is the cheapest and easiest finishing option. The same wallpaper can be used for pasting the niche and the entire wall. The niche will be completely invisible.

  • Fake diamond

This kind of finishing will take a long time and will require maximum effort. The material can be cut with a grinder if necessary. It is convenient to use liquid nails when working with artificial stone.

  • Polyurethane

Foamed plastic is great modern material for decoration. You can create a variety of patterns and textures from it. It is great for classic-style room decor.

A TV in a drywall niche on the wall will update your interior, make it interesting and original. If you want to "freshen up" the room, be sure to consider this option.

A new TV is always good, but along with it the question inevitably arises of where to put it. Sideboards, brackets, furniture sets with special compartments, stands and hanging shelves- among the assortment of shops, eyes run up. But what if you don't want to clutter up the room with unnecessary furniture? There is a way out: a neat and elegant plasterboard niche! And we will help you figure out where to place it and how to do it yourself.

Advantages of drywall niches

Plasterboard structures have long and firmly rooted in modern interiors... They are good for zoning and rational use spaces, bring individuality to the chosen style, allow you to experiment with forms.

A TV in a niche is simultaneously effective, neat, convenient and functional. It has several significant advantages over classic pedestals! Unlike furniture, it does not take up space, because it is built into the wall. You can make a plasterboard niche yourself, and it will be cheaper than custom-made body structures.

The TV is embedded in the plasterboard structure, which means it will not just hang in the middle of the wall and protrude forward. It is easy to hide all wires, built-in lighting and other communications inside the box. The niche is more compact than the wall shelves and does not take up aisle space.

The shape, style, size, configuration, number and location of compartments, design - you can choose all this yourself. Also, it is easy to sew additional noise insulation into drywall, and a working TV will not interfere with neighbors or households in another room.

It's almost impossible to imagine a modern living room without a large TV. Even strict opponents of television do not deny themselves the pleasure of displaying their favorite films or clips on the screen.

But finding a comfortable place even in a spacious living room is not always easy, because you still need to fit a couch, a table, cabinets, a work area, shelves and books in it, musical instruments and a lot of other little things. Therefore, modern ergonomic designs come to the fore.

Plasterboard niches can easily replace old clumsy walls. And also - they will help to competently organize the space, because it is a powerful tool for visual zoning of a room.

The bedroom is an atmosphere of peace, relaxation and comfort, where there is no place for anything superfluous. And this is not a whim at all, because well-being, mood and performance directly depend on healthy and full sleep.

Do not clutter up the bedroom with unnecessary furniture and appliances - and there will always be peace and romance in it. But this does not mean that you need to give up a new episode of your favorite TV series before bed.

A drywall niche in the bedroom is not only an ideal place for a TV that will not get in the way, but also a stylish atmospheric accessory. Elegant decor, gentle muted lighting, fresh flowers or your favorite photos around - and the bedroom will be transformed.

Functionality is always in the first place in the kitchen, because this is the main working space in any apartment. But the TV will not hurt either, because it is more fun to do routine things with it and it is more pleasant to spend time with your family while watching your favorite films.

But when installing a TV in the kitchen, the hardest part is finding a place. It is important that it does not interfere, is not too close to the stove or sink, that water and grease does not get on it, and that the protruding structure does not interfere with the passage.

Most often, the kitchen area is limited and not too large, so we are not talking about any cabinet cabinets. Placing the TV directly on the work surface between the combine and the microwave is far from the best way, so a plasterboard niche comes to the rescue.

Do-it-yourself drywall niche

Cope with the arrangement of a drywall niche with your own hands is much easier than it might seem at first glance. This does not require special knowledge and skills - a simple set of tools is enough. But it's better to do this after buying a TV, so that it probably fits in size without any problems.

Determine the location of the future niche, take all measurements, make a drawing and transfer the markings to the wall. For work, you will need measuring instruments, a level, a construction knife, a plane, a manual screwdriver and a drill, screwdrivers, screws and dowels for sheet materials.

Remember that the screen should not fit snugly against the structure. Leave some room for easy installation, connection and cleaning: on average, the shelf will be 20 cm wider than the TV.

Decide which shape will harmoniously fit into your interior: strict rectangular classics, futuristic polygons, original circles and ellipses, elegant rounded corners. All this can be done from drywall!

It is important that the TV does not protrude beyond the edges of the niche, and if an outlet is supposed to be behind, an even greater margin of depth will be needed. The most reliable are moisture-resistant sheets, which are more durable and resistant to changeable conditions, this is especially important in the kitchen with its temperature and humidity regime. The thickness depends on the shape and size of the niche, as well as on the expected loads.

The future structure is attached to the guide profiles, so you need to install them first. Fix the frame with self-tapping screws along the marking lines - and the outlines of the future niche are ready. Suitable for cutting drywall sheets special knife, but make sure that all edges are even.

When laying drywall on the frame, make sure that all joints are even, without sharp indentations or protrusions. Use self-tapping screws and special butterfly dowels. Along the perimeter, all joints and corners will have to be reinforced with profiles again. This will give the structure additional strength, and it will look neater.

After that, you can move on to finishing and decorating the niche. And then - to the installation of the TV, the brackets for which are included in the kit or sold separately.

Materials for decoration

A niche in the wall can be made of absolutely any shape and configuration. Among them there are several of the most common: under a furniture wall with shelves and decorative elements, under a window and decorative fireplace installed under the TV. Depending on the style and decoration of the room, choose and Decoration Materials with decorations.

Niche painting

The simplest solution is to paint the plasterboard structure with regular paint. But first, carefully putty the base to smooth out all joints, abutments and attachment points. For more expressive decorative effect use textured plaster. Paint the niche to match the rest of the walls for austere or classic interiors, or in a bold, catchy color for trendy contemporary accents.

Pasting a niche with wallpaper

The wallpaper option is as simple as painting, and in the same way allows you to make the niche as invisible as possible. For variety, use companion wallpapers that are in the collections of most brands. Now the combination of different textures and patterns is back in vogue, so combine a solid color with patterns, and stripes with large flowers.

Stone decoration

A natural stone not suitable for cladding plasterboard structures - it is too heavy. But the artificial one will perfectly cope with the task at hand, but outwardly it is almost the same. Stone niche in a lush classic interior always looks monumental and luxurious.

Wood trim

Wood finish- another win-win classic, because such a niche is not inferior to a full-fledged furniture set. But, as with stone, choose light woods, lightweight wood materials, or imitation. For cladding, it is convenient to use panels, such as lining, which are quickly mounted and hide minor defects.

Niche decorative trim

When designing a niche for a TV, feel free to use everything that you have a heart for. Painting, stencils, mosaics made of small particles, glass or mirror inserts, stucco moldings and complex polyurethane structures are used. You can frame the niche like a painting, or decorate the sides with graceful semi-columns.

Plasterboard niche lighting

Backlighting - stylish and handy tool decorating plasterboard structures and niches. In terms of ease of installation and fire safety spotlights and LED strip have proven themselves best. Duralight, neon tubes and threads are good for creative interiors.

Direct the light flux into reverse side away from the room, otherwise it will be too bright. The most comfortable shades for vision are white and yellow, and colors can be added with blue, green or neon red. But it is not recommended to keep colored or flashing tapes on all the time: they strain the eyes.

Take your time with arranging a drywall niche for a TV: first, analyze all the variety of options, and only then choose the perfect solution. To do this, we offer you our selection of photos with real interiors!

There are many ways to place your TV in a room. You can purchase a special cabinet at an electrical store. The device is built into a wall or furniture niche or hung on brackets. The owner decides for himself where to place the TV: in the corner of the room or against the wall. Next, we will talk about how to arrange a niche where you plan to put the device.

Do-it-yourself niche made of drywall

To make the portal for the TV receiver attractive appearance, you need to work hard. Prepare in advance:

  • Aluminum profile. Take a runner with a ceiling-to-wall runner, flexible may also be required.
  • Components
  • Fasteners.
  • GKL. Needed standard sheets and arched, if the need arises.
  • Primer and putty.
  • Special tape to close up inner corners and joints with seams.
  • Finishing materials.

If you are just going to buy a new TV, then measure the dimensions of the niche in the wall in order to choose a model for the installation of which you will not need to further deepen into the wall. Prepare tools for work.

A puncher is needed to drill holes in the wall. With the help of a laser level, you can control the installation process in order to avoid distortions. The screwdriver will allow you to quickly tighten the fasteners. To work with drywall, you need scissors, a knife, a hacksaw for metal, a painter's thread, sandpaper to grind the gypsum board, and a spatula with a roller.

Determine for yourself what the niche design should be. It can be protruding, recessed and with open corners. The latter option involves a lot of work. The master will have to close a significant part of the wall with the help of gypsum board, but the interior will only benefit: it will look solid and stylish.

As for the form, you have all kinds of options available. Look at the photo of a TV niche and choose the one that you like best: curved, in the form of a rectangle, square or oval. Structures can be positioned horizontally or vertically.

You need to remember about the standard rules that work here. The vertical installation raises the ceiling visually, while the horizontal installation expands the narrow wall. In addition, unusual geometry can be used for rooms with a large area or non-standard layouts.

Near the television receiver, as a rule, they additionally install shelves for a stereo system, placing books, exclusive souvenirs and other decorative items.

Buying a roomy cabinet with a TV niche is a great solution. But if you wish, you yourself can make a drywall rack, and as a result, you will have a holistic structure.

Installation work is carried out in stages. First of all, apply the markings. To do this, use laser level with a tape measure. Draw a drawing of the future portal and proceed with the construction of a metal frame. Calculate the depth of the niche, for this you will need to know the thickness of the TV receiver.

It is necessary to add another 5 or 7 cm to the resulting value for the gap. Then it will be possible to hide engineering communications. There should be some space between the wall surface and the screen so that air circulates freely and cools the turned on device.

It is important to leave space on all sides of the monitor. Then there will be no problems when you need to hang it or, conversely, remove it. In addition, it is possible that after a while you will want to buy a model with a larger diagonal.

Before you start working, decide how the electrical wiring will go. Make special channels for the wires or install skirting boxes where you can hide the electrical wiring.

First, you need to fix the guide profile, the distance between adjacent dowels should not exceed 40 cm. After that, the vertical elements are mounted, they are fixed on the floor and on the ceiling. Another option is to make the base of the niche separately and, already assembled, install it on the wall.

At the next stage, the frame is to be covered with gypsum plasterboards. Previously, sheets of drywall are cut into appropriate shapes. Start with small details and complex elements. Fix them with self-tapping screws in increments of 25 or 30 cm.

After installing drywall, it must be leveled using a primer and putty. Reinforce the seams and joints with a serpentine tape. Cover the outer edges with perforated metal corners. After sanding, apply a layer of finishing filler to the plasterboard surface.

Decoration

A beautiful niche in the interior can serve as a real decoration of the room, if you approach it creatively. There are many finishing options, the main thing is to maintain a sense of style.

You can paint the structure water-based paint, sheathe it with decorative stone, paste over with wallpaper or fabric, decorate with mosaic tiles or polyurethane stucco, apply images to the surface using stencils or paint with your own hands.

Portal in the living room

A living room with a niche for a TV is an opportunity to equip a room in a modern way. After all, around the TV screen, you can arrange a wall with the compartments that are needed. Interesting lighting, exclusive decorative elements and works of art help to make the design original. In addition to paintings, you can put graceful figurines in the wall.

A drywall niche requires less space when compared to standard pieces of furniture such as cabinets or shelving. In addition, the plasterboard construction looks more stylish. It is really unique: you cannot buy it in a store.

The design is successfully used for zoning a room as internal partition... It partially replaces furniture, saving usable space. If you are making shelves for books, then it is better to take boards. Wood or glass can withstand significant loads. These materials add variety to the design.

When decorating a niche, focus on the style of the interior. For country - the optimal solution is a raised fireplace made of decorative stone For Art Nouveau, asymmetry is considered appropriate, for minimalism - clear geometry, for Provence - floral ornaments, and for classics - columns, gilded decor and stucco molding.

And the main highlight is the TV, which occupies the central place. Do not use a lot of bright elements... Lurid details will compete with the footage, which can be annoying.

If you decide to make a niche in other rooms: in the bedroom or in the kitchen, then the sequence of work remains the same. The only caveat is the finish; pastel shades and soft lighting are suitable for the bedroom. In the kitchen, it is appropriate to use green, which is considered the most pleasing to the human eye.

Browse online directories to find design solution that you like. Original models will serve as a source of inspiration for you, and you will create a beautiful interior with your own hands.

Photo niche for TV

The layout of the interior can make you nervous: suddenly it turns out that there is nowhere to put the TV ... But this is not such a problem - the electronic device will perfectly fit into the situation if you create a niche of drywall for it.

Why a niche is needed for TV

Today, a TV box the size of a box is a forgotten past. It is not on sale, and only a few have kept such a huge electronic device at home. There is no need to fit shelves or bedside tables under TVs with thin plasma and LCD screens, because they have mounts that allow you to fix the screen to the wall or hide it in a niche.

A drywall niche is a great place to install a thin TV

It is important that the thin plasma is inside the wall, without protruding even a centimeter forward. True, it is not so easy to equip an ordinary wall for such an arrangement of an LCD TV. The walls have different thicknesses - some are very thick and others are thin.

You won't have to worry about creating a depression in the wall if you arm yourself with drywall. Niche in this building material will make the interior original.

Advantages of placing TV in a box

  • Tucked into a drywall niche, the TV will not seem like a foreign object, it will completely harmonize with the decor in the room;
  • On the shelves of the niche, you can place not only the liquid crystal panel, but also books, a player and discs, and other design elements;
  • Thanks to the niche, the TV will be protected from accidental grazing, which means it will not budge or be damaged;
  • The speakers can be removed into the manufactured niche so that they are also completely safe, for example, from the pens of small children;
  • The equipment from the TV (wires and cable) in the plasterboard niche will be completely hidden from view;
  • Lighting devices can be built into the created recess, which will significantly decorate the room and make it brighter;
  • The niche looks like an expensive interior decoration, although it doesn't take much money to make it.

Types of plasterboard structures

If the owners of an apartment undertake to create a niche, then they consider three options for its shape. The design can be rectangular horizontal, rectangular vertical or oval. Sometimes it is possible to combine several types in one niche.

Types of plasterboard niches:

  • Usually a rectangular horizontal plasterboard niche is preferred. It will be able to ideally position a thin screen and make a couple of shelves for additional things.

This niche is created without shelves, but backlit

A rectangular horizontal niche is a good solution for decorating both large and small rooms. If you create such a niche in a room of short size, you will be able to make it visually more spacious.

  • Rectangular vertical niches are unique in that they take up wall space from flooring up to the ceiling. The TV is certainly installed in the middle of such structures, and next to it, space is left for additional equipment that decorates the interior of elements, books or paintings.

This niche has an unusual curved shape.

A rectangular vertical niche will visually increase the space above your head. Therefore, it is better to build this structure in a room with very wide walls.

  • Very rarely they resort to making an oval niche, since it has a complex manufacturing technology. But it is much more interesting than a simple rectangular design. True, the owners of small rooms about the niche non-standard type can only dream, as it optically reduces the surrounding space.

Oval niche - perfect option for rooms with a large area and high ceilings.

Oval niche goes well with a round ceiling and a spherical chandelier

What you need to make your own hands

To create a drywall niche and later not doubt its aesthetics and reliability, you need to have all the materials at hand:

  • Aluminum profiles discontinued under the designations CW and UW. The first mark indicates that the profile can be attached to the wall and ceiling. And the second indicates that the profile can be used as a load-bearing element for fixing drywall panels;
  • Wooden beams, necessary to create the base of the structure;
  • Plasterboard panels 12.5 mm thick;
  • Connectors for metal profiles;
  • Packing with dowels and screws.

When planning to create an arched drywall niche, you need to purchase an arched profile and drywall sheets of such a thickness that they can bend.

Of the tools during work, come in handy:

  • A drill on which you can change the speed;
  • Screwdriver and screwdriver;
  • Hacksaw for metal and power tools for processing profiles;
  • Construction knife and planer for cutting and smoothing drywall panels;
  • Measuring instruments (tape measure, cord, building level and a plumb line).

What needs to be considered for the calculations to be correct

  • Before starting work, you need to sketch on paper a drawing of the future structure. From the drawing it will be clear which shelves and where will be made. In it, it is important to designate all the dimensions of the niche, which are calculated based on the parameters of the plasma TV.
  • The depth of the recess is necessarily equal to the length of the TV, otherwise it will protrude beyond the edges of the drywall, and all the work will be done in vain. If you plan to make an outlet behind the TV, then this size must be increased, because in the niche you will have to hide the wires.
  • The niche should be 20 cm wider than the TV, because it is customary to leave a small distance on the sides of the plasma screen. Such gaps between the plasterboard wall and the TV screen are necessary so that you can stick your hands in them to connect or dismantle the TV.

There are no strict limits for all other sizes. The only thing is that each line in the drawing should be drawn straight. Therefore, when applying the markings on the wall, you need to use the building level. They begin to draw exclusively from the center of the wall.

The drawing shows the dimensions of the TV niche and the shelves at the top

  • The strip of outlets for speakers and other additional equipment is usually located at the bottom. Most wires can be removed behind the TV. If this option does not suit you, the wires are brought to the TV directly along the wall, after having hollowed out the channel with a puncher. Then the wires embedded in it are masked with putty.

Installation of plasterboard construction

Stages of creating a niche:

  1. First of all, the UD profiles are fixed on the wall exactly according to the marked markings using self-tapping screws. CD profiles are vertically inserted into them; It is important to install each CD profile 0.6 meters from the other. They do not loosen if you fix them on the wall using U-shaped mounts.
  2. On the sides of the niche, the CD profiles must no longer be fastened vertically, but horizontally. After assembling the frame, a TV cable and an electric wire for the backlight are laid on the wall;

    It is possible that other fastening methods may be needed when assembling the frame.

  3. Now you can go to the frame skin. First, sheets of drywall are cut into pieces in accordance with the required dimensions. The finished pieces are applied to the metal frame.

    Stages of creating a niche: construction of the frame, plasterboard sheathing and finishing the walls with putty

    The edges of the drywall pieces should not protrude beyond the profile. One piece should be in close contact with the other. Excess millimeters of material should be removed with a clerical knife;

  4. Pieces of material are screwed to the frame with self-tapping screws, whose heads must "sink" in the material so that later they cannot be seen under the layer of putty;
  5. Having sheathed the frame with plasterboard, you can carry out finishing work:
    • It is important to putty all the seams between the pieces of material and stick the serpyanka strips on them. When the putty at the drywall joints dries, it will need to be smoothed with sandpaper;
    • Then a primer is applied to the drywall;
    • As soon as the primer is dry, the entire surface of the niche is covered with a thin layer of putty, leveling out small pits;

Today drywall in the home is used to create the most incredible yet practical designs... One of them is a plasterboard niche for a TV.

Almost everyone in the house has a TV and its location in the room is a rather difficult thing. Old and oversized models have become a thing of the past, and they have been replaced by flat-panel LCD TVs. But it can still be difficult to place them correctly in the room. An excellent solution in such a situation is the creation of a niche in the wall.

A niche for a drywall TV has a number of undeniable advantages:

  • it will improve the design of the room;
  • can replace some elements of furniture. For example, sections of its compartments can be used as a shelf;
  • easy to do with your own hands;
  • is integral with the wall structure. Therefore, it is impossible to hit it;
  • in it you can hide the wires of the Internet cable, wires of other equipment, etc.;
  • may contain built-in lighting, which will help in additional lighting of the walls and the adjacent space of the room;
  • there is no need to purchase bulky dressers and cabinets.

This design will be an excellent addition to the interior of the room and will perfectly fit into any room design.

Niche design options

Today, you can create a niche for a drywall TV of any design.
A television niche can be:

  • horizontal or rectangular. They are the most popular, as they allow you to place your TV in the most efficient and practical way. Also, if necessary, an additional shelf can be installed here. With such a design, you can easily increase the functionality and practicality of the walls. Most often used in the design of a wide room;
  • vertical or oval. As the name implies, it has a vertically elongated oval shape. Such a niche can occupy the space of an entire wall - from the floor to the ceiling itself. The structure is equipped with additional shelves. The shelf can be one or more, depending on the size of the niche itself. Its design is the most diverse. These niches look best in a spacious room.

Remember! If you are designing a niche for a specific TV, then when you buy a new one, it may not fit into an existing structure.

If only a TV will be placed in a niche, then to create a circuit, you just need to measure the length, width and depth of the equipment.
Note! For convenience, the niche should be designed in such a way that your hand can freely go behind the TV.
If a shelf is additionally mounted in it, then its dimensions should also be indicated in the drawing. Also, the diagram should take into account the thickness of the drywall sheets.

Tools and materials required for work

To create a TV niche with your own hands, you will need:

  • drill;
  • spatula;
  • tape measure and pencil;
  • skin for stripping;
  • grinder with a circle for cutting profiles and metal;
  • knife for cutting drywall.

In addition, you will need the following materials:

Necessary materials and tools

  • drywall sheets;
  • putty;
  • primer;
  • profiles;
  • metal beacons;
  • slope corners;
  • screws and dowels.

To create a better design, materials from one company should be used. Today, the best quality products are offered by Knauf, which produces not only gypsum plasterboards, but also finishing materials for them.

The order of work

To improve the design of the room and ideally fit a niche for the TV into it, it is necessary to adhere to a certain sequence of work performed.
The preparatory stage is as follows:

  • choose the location of the future structure;
  • level the working surface with a starting putty;
  • determine the side of the wire supply and install the sockets;
  • lay the wires into the channel and coat it with starter putty. Then connect them to the junction box;
  • mark the wall from the drawing. Wall markings should be carried out using a level to draw all lines evenly;

Marking

  • choose a way to mount the TV. It can be fixed using special fasteners or simply stand on its legs;
  • the depth of the niche itself depends on the choice of fastening. If the TV is flat and stands on a leg, then there will be enough depth of 3-5 cm. Be sure to take into account the presence of wires here. A hand must freely pass behind the TV in order to be able to connect it. Therefore, it is best to make a depth of 8 cm. This is how the niche design will look most successful.

Now you can start installing the frame structure:

  • to the drawn lines we apply the guides of the "UD" profile and cut them into the necessary pieces;
  • we fix them around the entire perimeter of the niche. Remember to cave in the correct distance from the walls to create the correct depth;
  • fasten with self-tapping screws;
  • insert the vertical rack profiles "CD" into the attached profiles. The distance between them should be 60 cm;
  • mount CD-profiles to create more solid construction follows with the help of "peshek";
  • then we fix the CD profiles horizontally, but already along the edges of the structure;
  • we also fasten UD profiles around the perimeter.

Finished niche frame

Now you can start installing the plasterboard sheets on the frame. In this case, decorating the walls with your own hands involves the following actions:

  • cut the sheets of gypsum board into the desired pieces according to the parameters of the drawing. It should be cut like this - first we cut the paper on one side of the sheet, then we beat it on the sheet and cut it on the other side;
  • try them on at the place of future fastening. With a perfect fit, the sheets can be attached to the frame;
  • should be fixed with self-tapping screws in the middle of the profile;
  • then we do similar manipulations with the side walls of the niche;
  • for the evenness of the corners of the structure, we insert metal corners;
  • corners and all joints of sheets should be sealed with putty;
  • after it dries, sand all the irregularities and roughness;
  • prime the surface;
  • when the primer is dry, you can make the final putty. We apply a thin layer to obtain a flawlessly smooth surface. If necessary, remove the roughness with sandpaper.

TV niche

Now the entire structure can be finished with decorative stucco molding, artificial stone, or simply painted. The main thing is that its design fits perfectly into design rooms.
As you can see, it is quite possible to make a television niche from drywall on your own.
