The dimensions of the profiled sheet for the fence may be different. The types of this material differ in a number of parameters: length, height of the sheet and corrugated profile, metal thickness, configuration. They all participate in the choice. However, it is better to use a certain type of profiled sheet for the fence. It should combine reliability and attractiveness. If unsuitable material is used during construction, this may affect its operation.
The profiled sheet is divided into groups. The material of each of them is intended for use under certain conditions. This is due to the fact that the dimensions of the corrugated board for the fence are different, which means that the material will withstand different levels of load. Profiled sheet types:
The first of the options is universal. The thickness of the NS type profiled sheet allows it to be used both in the construction of the roof and in the construction of fences. Such material is used as a facing material for the purpose of finishing objects. It is reliable and looks attractive. However, profiled sheets of HC are more often found on roofs and other structures.
If it is necessary to choose a profiled sheet for the fence, they usually consider type C or wall material. It got its name from the fact that it is used for the construction of vertical structural elements, in particular fences. Another area of application is walls (interior and exterior). A metal profile for a fence has advantages: resistance to corrosion, reliability, and a long period of operation. Less commonly, type C material is used in the arrangement of the roof, for the purpose of facing the facade.
The material of group H is characterized by increased strength and reliability.
It is used in construction load-bearing structures, less often - for the construction of a fence, which is exposed to significant wind load, and also for the purpose of repairing or arranging a roof with special characteristics. High level the reliability of such a corrugated board is provided due to the thickness of the metal and the configuration of the corrugated profile.
In addition to the main dimensions, the brand of the profile is also taken into account: A or R. The first option is more suitable for a fence, since it is characterized by the absence of a water seal. Another feature of this material is that the painting is done on one side. Among all the varieties, the most popular is the corrugated board type C8, C10, C20, C21, HC35.
From the designation, you can find out the height of the corrugated profile of the metal sheet.
It can be respectively 8, 10, 20, 21 or 35 mm. Length, width, height - all these parameters, including the height of the corrugated profile, for materials of different types can be found in GOST 24045-2010. It should be remembered that two factors ensure the resistance of the material to wind load: the thickness of the metal and the height of the corrugated profile. The larger the value of the last of the parameters, the more reliable the fence will be. The same dependence is the thickness of the metal and its level of strength.
In addition to the basic parameters discussed above, the manufacturer provides characteristics such as useful and full width. When it comes to dimensions, consider the full width. The value of this parameter is determined by measuring the entire length of the sheet. Useful is the width, which is determined by the distance between the center points of the extreme profiles. It is here that fasteners are laid if it is necessary to connect two sheets.
The standard height of the corrugated board is 2 m. The dimensions are the most simple option- sheet with a profile height of 8 mm (C8):
If we consider another profiled sheet for the fence, the dimensions of the sheet for type C10 will be different:
Profiled metal of the C20 type is characterized by other parameters:
Profiled material type C21 is characterized by a corrugated profile height of 21 mm and other parameters:
The material with improved characteristics (corrugated board of the HC35 type) has a rib height of 35 mm and a metal thickness of 0.5–0.9 mm. Other parameters:
Considering that the thickness of the metal, the height of the stiffeners, the length and height of the sheet vary greatly, it is sometimes difficult to make the final choice. For example, material with increased strength characteristics is expensive, and in addition, when building a fence, there is usually no need for high-strength metal. If you choose a cheap corrugated board for a fence with the simplest characteristics, it will not last long and will begin to deform under the influence of wind loads. For this reason, it is recommended to purchase material with optimal parameters for the fence.
The height of the leaf is usually 2 m, as this is enough to cover a person of average height (1.75-1.85 cm). In addition, when building a fence around the perimeter of the site, they are guided by the requirements and rules regulated regulatory documents... The fence, which is located on the border of private estates and the street, should have a height of 2 m. This means that corrugated board of standard sizes is quite suitable for this purpose.
The thickness of the metal is also different: from 0.4 to 0.9 mm.
There are even versions of 0.35 mm. However, this is the Chinese version of the profiled sheet. It is too thin, so it cannot be used for the construction of a fence. For fencing, material with a thickness of 0.4–0.7 mm is usually used. However, the average wind load on the construction site should be taken into account. If the object is located in an area closed from the wind, for example, in an area with dense buildings, a corrugated board with a thickness of 0.4–0.5 mm is sufficient.
Taking into account the wind load, the option is also selected according to the height of the stiffeners. Usually, material of the S8-C20 type is used for the fence, however, the version with a profile height of 8 mm is less reliable than the analogue with ribs of 10–20 mm. It is not the most expensive material, but it is reliable, which allows it to be used on terrain with constant wind load. Reinforced structures (made of HC35 material) are constructed where it is necessary to provide protection from external factors: strong wind, difficult weather conditions.
The length of the sheet, like the previously considered parameters, is also taken into account when choosing a profiled metal. Manufacturers offer material from 0.4 to 12 m in length. Too short sheets are impractical to use when erecting a fence, since this will result in a large number of joints that can weaken the overall structure. Considering that the recommended length of the fence section is 2.5–3 m, sheets of the same length should be used. In addition, it is difficult to work with large-sized sections (more than 3 m) in a domestic environment, therefore, sheets with a standard length are more often used.
The first stage is to determine the perimeter of the site, as well as the location of the gate, wicket. The material is purchased with a small margin. Having determined the perimeter, the length of the fence is calculated, for which it is necessary to subtract the width of the gate and wicket. Next, determine the number of pillars, their dimensions (diameter of round or width of square supports).
To understand how many pillars will be installed, you first need to set the width of the section (2.5–3 m).
Having calculated the total length of the fence, subtract the value equal to the sum of the widths of all the pillars, and get the amount of corrugated board that needs to be purchased.
There are also subtleties when choosing and calculating materials. So, the higher the fence, the more lag will be required. For example, for a corrugated board with a height of 2.2-2.5 m, 3 shaped pipes are needed. If the height of the sheet reaches 3 m, 4 logs are already used. The price difference will be significant. The cost price of 1 lin. m of a fence made of corrugated board with a height of 1.8-2 m is almost 2 times lower than in the case of a structure with a height of 3 m.
When calculating the material, the method of arranging the sheets on the logs is also taken into account.
The metal can be installed in the form of a continuous strip, while the corrugated board will overlap the pillars. In this case, the amount of metal is calculated without taking into account the supports. If the profiled material is fixed in the form of separate sections, and there is a small distance between them under the pillars, then the material calculation scheme discussed above is used.
Professional sheet is construction material, which is made in the form of separate metal sheets, which are specially designed to cover any premises in order to protect them from precipitation, wind and other external factors.
This material is made from galvanized steel, using the method of cold profiling, after which the surface of the sheets takes on a wavy shape.
Profiled sheet is one of the highest quality and durable materials and therefore the demand for its purchase and use in the process of building structures is gradually growing.
Profiled sheet, in comparison with more rigid, durable and its range is much larger.
The corrugated board is characterized by a high degree of noise absorption, but when finishing the roof with a corrugated sheet, additional sound insulation materials must be used. Also due to the fact that the corrugated board is a rigid structure with a complex relief - this allows it to be used during installation at any height, and it can withstand heavy loads.
In fact, corrugated board and corrugated sheet are the same material, only the profiled sheet is most often called roofing material, and profiled sheeting is a universal coating.
The advantages of the material on the face:
Disadvantages of a professional sheet:
As you can see, the disadvantage is a minority, and this allows us to talk about the versatility, high practicality and functionality of the material.
The bearing type is intended for creating partitions and wall decoration. It can be bought for a small price, as well as issued individual order when you need sheets of a certain size.
With its help, you can not only build some elements of the building, but also easily repair the roof, decorate the facade, its walls, ceiling and even build strong fences.
When calculated per square meter, this material has a low weight and good strength.
The wall profiled sheet has a rectangular or trapezoidal profile with a polymer coating or can be galvanized. If you make walls from it, then in terms of their mass they will be much lighter than buildings made of reinforced concrete. Wall profiled sheet is convenient and easy to cut if you need to do cladding facade or facing work, installation of load-bearing elements, as well as to make decorative metal structures.
Which trapezoidal sheet is best for the roof of a house? Roofing profiled sheet (series H) is used for the construction of roofs and any fences that will be able to withstand bad weather. It can withstand heavy loads.
Types of professional sheet
Before purchasing materials from a professional sheet, it is recommended to find out some details about the features of its application in construction for several reasons:
Profiled sheets have a wide range of lengths and thicknesses. In accordance with the rules of GOST 24045-94, the length for all types of profiled sheets can be from 2.4 to 12.6 meters, and the width becomes from 600-1850 mm and is determined based on the manufacturer's brand. The strength of the profiled sheets, first of all, depends on their thickness.
The standard thickness of the corrugated sheet for the roof is 0.5 and 0.55 mm.
You can see the weight of the profiled sheet in the table:

It is also quite often that sheets are made with a thickness of about 0.75, 0.8, 1 m. The dimensions of the corrugated sheet for the roof depend on the area on which they are planned to be installed, purpose, loads and climate.
The width of the profiled sheet depends on its brand, for example, for the HC35 brand, the profiled sheet width is 1060 mm, and the height is 35 mm. Accordingly, the height will be from 0.5 to 0.8 mm. If you have chosen the grade of sheet H75, then the width of the sheet will be 800 mm, the height of the profile - 75 mm and the thickness of the metal - 0.7-0.8 mm.
Sheet dimensions
Profiled sheets are specially marked in order to indicate their differences between each other, including their purpose and their types. They are denoted by Latin letters ( С - wall, Н - bearing).
NOTE!
The durability and strength of the entire structure is ensured by the fact that the profiled sheets have 8 protective layers.
Due to the fact that high-quality profiled sheets during their manufacture are covered with a varnish coating (polyester, polyvinyl chloride), they look aesthetically pleasing. Their shelf life is also increased.
The material has many positive properties:
The material easily transfers any external influences and is environmentally friendly.

Today there are a large number of materials from professional sheets and, as a rule, only some of them are most actively used, which are much better and easier to use. The most popular markings for profiled sheets include:
To calculate the material for the roof, you will definitely need information about the dimensions of the material used and the roof. To start it is recommended to start by calculating the rafter system.
You also need information about the estimated weight of the finished structure, and the values of the cross-section of the beams, taking into account the coating material.
The main components of the rafter system are logs and beams., which are intended for the construction of the roof frame. done after calculating the load on the roof, which takes into account the weight of the roof, its covering and its own weight.
This is done to accommodate all possible roof loads. In addition, the weight of the workers is included in the calculation of the load, which will be engaged in it and strong gusts of wind.
Attention!
To calculate the coverage and rafter system, use our! After calculating the total load, the amount is calculated wooden beams that is distributed in a certain direction at angles.

The use of profiled sheets is quite diverse and ensures a long service life. Thanks to this material, it is possible to make both separate structures in the form of fences, and to install the roofing pie of the roof. Unlike corrugated board, it has many advantages that make it indispensable in the construction process.

In private construction, fences and roofs made of profiled sheet metal are actively practiced. Consider the characteristics of galvanized corrugated board, as one of the varieties of this material.
Despite the appearance and widespread use of painted corrugated board, galvanized steel has not lost its popularity. This is due to the fact that, at a low cost, the scope of its application is not limited, and, in practice, is much wider than that of a colored analogue.
The use of galvanized profiled sheet is advisable in cases where it is necessary:
Advice. Galvanized corrugated board cannot be painted with ordinary paints. This should be taken into account when planning to build a permanent permanent structure.
For sheathing (decorating) vertical surfaces, a sheet with a wave height of 8 to 21 mm is used. This size is due to the fact that with a low profiling wave, more useful area of the sheet is retained, and stiffness with vertical mounting to the wireframe is not a defining parameter.
Note. Installation of corrugated board on vertical surfaces can be performed both vertically (the stiffening ribs of the sheet are located perpendicular to the line of the building base), and horizontally (lines parallel to the foundation).
It is used for use on horizontal and inclined surfaces. A sheet with a wave height of 20 mm or more is suitable for the roof. In practice, the larger the pitch angle of the roof, the lower the wave height can be applied. Conversely, on flat roof they install corrugated board with a wave height of 45 mm, and taking into account the amount of precipitation in the region, the thickness of the snow cover, the configuration of the roof - with a wave height of 75 mm.
Advice. Installation of corrugated board on the roof is carried out only in accordance with the direction of water flow.
For the formation of floors, it is reasonable to use only a zinc-coated profiled sheet, because here the determining parameter is the stiffness and load-bearing capacity of the sheet, and not its aesthetic properties or resistance to corrosion. For these purposes, it is preferable to use a corrugated sheet with a wave height of 75 mm.
Regardless of the purpose, a profiled sheet is manufactured in accordance with the standards contained in GOST 24045-94 "Galvanized profiled sheeting" on special equipment. As a result of the passage of the galvanized sheet through the shafts, waves are formed - profiles (stiffeners), which inform the finished corrugated board of its properties.
Galvanized corrugated board has two defining parameters:
On the market there is a profiled sheet with a thickness of 0.3 to 1.7 mm. The most popular is the thickness of the corrugated board 0.45-0.7 mm.
This indicator directly affects the anti-corrosion properties of the material. GOST regulates that the thickness of the galvanized coating should be 275 g / m2. The estimated service life of such a profiled sheet is 15-20 years. A decrease in the thickness of the coating entails a decrease in price, but also a decrease in the service life.
Note also that zinc is a volatile material and will erode from the steel base over time. In addition, violation of the integrity of the layer ( mechanical damage) also contribute to the rapid development of corrosion.
Advice. For temporary fencing, in order to save money, it is reasonable to use corrugated board with a zinc coating of 100 g / m2. Its estimated service life is 5-7 years.
Galvanizing sheet steel not only determines the service life of the profiled sheet, but also its appearance.
There are three types of galvanized surfaces, depending on the crystallization pattern:
With a normal crystallization pattern, the appearance of the sheet will be covered with "stars", "snowflakes", etc. The choice of "pattern" depends on the preferences of the buyer.
Note. Uneven crystallization indicates violations in the technology of applying a zinc layer.
Due to the fact that the sheet is profiled from a roll blank, the width of the corrugated board is determined by the height of the wave - the higher the wave, the narrower the sheet. This property must be taken into account when calculating the corrugated board. In addition, it should be borne in mind that different manufacturers have different roll forming equipment installed. Those. the configuration of the wave (its angle of inclination in relation to the plane of the sheet), which means that the working width of the sheet will differ. So, with the same wave height, the width may differ by 5-15 mm.
The length can be any and is determined by the needs of the customer. In terms of ease of transportation and installation maximum length the sheet of galvanized corrugated board for most manufacturers is 12,000 mm. The minimum length of the corrugated board is 200 mm. In this case, the dimensions of the profiled sheet are discrete 50 mm. Those. the equipment allows you to cut a sheet in a multiple of 50 mm.
When installing corrugated board without polymer coating (decorative finishing layer), you should be prepared that the appearance of the lined surface will change over time. Due to the volatility of zinc, the surface of the sheet will lose its luster and acquire a dirty gray tint. In places where the zinc layer is slightly thinner or there is mechanical damage, rust will appear on the sheet.
The thickness of the zinc layer only affects the rate of change, but is not able to prevent them.
The price depends on parameters such as sheet thickness, zinc layer thickness, wave height (working width) and differs depending on the manufacturer.
For comparison, the price of galvanized corrugated board of several manufacturers is shown in the table.

It is not surprising that galvanized corrugated board is firmly held among the most popular materials for construction and decoration. So, if you need to purchase a reliable and inexpensive material for a variety of needs, you should take a closer look at a profiled sheet with a galvanized surface.
When choosing a corrugated board for a roof, the dimensions of the sheet are of decisive importance, not only in terms of area, but also in terms of the depth of the wavy relief. If the number of panels for a certain section of the roof depends on the perimeter of the panels, then the stability depends on the depth of the corrugation roofing to leaks. In addition, in terms of the duration of operation, one should take into account such a parameter as the thickness of the metal - the mass of thick panels increases slightly, but they serve much longer.
Decking differs not only in color, but also in size
If the roofer chooses the size of the corrugated sheet for the roof, then he takes into account several parameters. These are: the configuration of the roof (the number of slopes and the complexity of the rafter system), the method (frequency) of the lathing, the degree of slope of the slopes - that will directly affect the preferred modification of the panel. And only in the last place it comes to the color of the material.
Marking of profiled metal panels
GOST 24045-94 regulates the standard size of the profiled sheet, and also obliges the manufacturer to label the panels.
According to this provision of the State Standard, panels are divided into three main types:
Usage table different types professional sheet
The marking of corrugated panels is not limited to one or two letters - in addition to them, there are a number of numbers indicating certain specifications.
The sequence in which the dimensions of the corrugated board are indicated is the height of the corrugation / thickness / width / length. For example, consider the C-21, which is more common on the construction market than others. If the label says C21-0.55-750-1200, then this means the following:
It should be noted that different types of metal profiles are not always used strictly for their intended purpose - very often panels marked "C" cover the roof, but this is possible only when certain conditions... The fact is that the melting of snow lying on the roof can cause leakage at the joints, but if the slope has a large slope, then the melt water does not have time to seep through the joint. In addition, in such cases, the lathing of the rafter system should be either continuous or very frequent.
Roof overlap with profiled sheet
If panels marked "H" are used for the construction of hangars or fences, then in such cases the weak shock-absorbing stability of the roofing sheets is taken into account. To compensate for this disadvantage, during the installation of the structure, additional beams and / or jumpers are installed to increase the density of the base.
But it is best if the finishing material is used strictly for its intended purpose - this affects not only the quality, but also the cost of the project.
It is almost impossible to consider absolutely all sizes of a professional sheet, since in this matter a lot depends on the manufacturer and / or customer. However, there are certain standards:
Corrugation relief indicators
Depending on the purpose, the thickness of the corrugated board changes:
In construction, the dimensions of the metal profile for finishing and roofing are coordinated not only with regard to the installation site, but also with the total area of the object. In addition, there is such a side of the issue as the cost of the material, which is also very closely related to these parameters.
A selection of metal profiled roof panels
If the installer knows in advance the size of the corrugated board in all parameters, then he will be able to determine its value for a particular type of work. You can pay attention to at least two factors that are immediately noticeable:
Sheet parameters C21
When choosing the size of a metal profile, you can be guided by GOST 24045-94 in order to check the information provided by the seller of the goods. That is, if the product has a marking, and it must be there, it means that the panel must correspond to the letters and numbers indicated there. Having checked the indicators with a tape measure and / or a vernier caliper, it will be difficult to accurately determine the conformity of the goods with the price list or invoice.
The most important factor for pricing in this case is the thickness of the profiled sheet, plus the amount of zinc and polymer in its coating.
The thickness of the rolled products directly indicates the amount of metal that is spent on the manufacture of products. This parameter can also be determined by the mass of one square place - the heavier, the greater the consumption, which means that the cost will be higher.
Installation of a long galvanized deck
Cheap finishing or roofing material is available only with a zinc coating (the length of a sheet of corrugated board of this type is the largest, since it is almost never cut and is sold in pieces of 4-6 m). The absence of polymer on the surface significantly reduces the cost, but at the same time the service life decreases at the same rate. Expensive panels are coated on both sides with polymer, which significantly increases moisture resistance as well as cost.
The working width of the corrugated board has a great influence on the pricing policy, this is especially noticeable when overlapping large areas... For comparison, you can take the width of two brands - C8 (actual 1200 mm, working 1150 mm) and C21 (actual 1151 mm, working 1000 mm). That is, the difference between the operating and actual parameters for the C8 is only 50 mm, and for the C21 - 151 mm, therefore, when using the C8, much less material is required, which means it is cheaper.
Use of short roof panels (1200 mm)
Also, the length of the material used plays an important role - I do not mean what comes out of the rolling mill, but the already cut products that are sold in the store. For example, for a slope 4 m long, you will need one solid four-meter sheet, or 3.5 pieces of 120-centimeter panels. As a result, in the first case, the working size will completely coincide with the actual one, and in the second - with a working length of 4 m, the actual one will turn out to be 4.2 m.
The choice of the brand and size of the metal profile sheet directly depends on the complexity of the rafter system and the steepness of the slope of the slopes. For example, if the slope of the slope is 45ᵒ or more, then the snow will not be able to linger there and will slide as soon as the temperature is above zero. Therefore, leaks at the joints are not terrible here. This suggests that such a project allows the use of a modification of the "C" type, that is, a cheaper one.
Multi-gable roof for corrugated board
If it is advantageous to use long sheets on straight long slopes, then in the case of a multi-gable roof, this makes no sense.
For example, the total length of one side is 4 m, but another one is attached to this ramp. rafter system, as in the photo above - there is simply nowhere to mount a four-meter sheet. Therefore, in such situations it is much more convenient to get by with shorter panels, 2000 mm or even 1200 mm.
In construction, decoration and roofing works there are many options when materials originally intended for some types of structures are used for other purposes, and this is quite normal. Nevertheless, if it is possible to adhere to the direct purpose, according to GOSTs and SNiPs, then this should not be neglected.
With a wide variety, roof sheeting is very popular. Sheet size and price are closely related. We propose to understand the advantages of this material, the existing varieties, the features of selection and calculation.

The metal profile for the roof is used for roofing on objects for various purposes... It can be seen on:
Depending on the price and size, roof profiles are also used for installation and wall decoration.
Regardless of how much a professional sheet costs, it is in steady demand. This is due to its undeniable merits:
The disadvantages include:
For the device of the roof, corrugated board of various types is used. The most popular are:
Decking differs in the type of protective coating. It can be:
When choosing a roofing sheeting, one should be guided by its size. Manufacturing companies offer material with various geometric parameters. We suggest that you familiarize yourself with the standard sizes to make it easier for you to choose the sheets you need.
For the manufacture of corrugated board, sheet metal with a width of 1250 mm is used. The final dimensions of the profiled sheet for the roof, its length and width, depend on the configuration and height of the profile being formed and the requirements for the geometric parameters of the material. So, the C8 has a useful width of 1.15 m with a total width of 1.2 m, and the HC35 - 1 m and 1.06 m, respectively.
The length of finished sheets can be up to 14 m. Due to the increase in transport costs, such material is not purchased, preferring sheets with a length of 2 m, 3 m or 6 m.
Manufacturers offer corrugated roof sheeting of various thicknesses. For manufacturing, metal sheets with a thickness of 0.45 - 1.2 mm are used.
Attention! The greater the thickness, the longer the corrugated board will last and the more reliable it will be in operation.
