DIY wall decor for brickwork. Imitation of decorative brickwork in a modern interior - photo

Brickwork brings in the interior a unique charm and the very "zest". And if the outer cladding of a building can still be done using various types of bricks, then indoors, especially in an ordinary apartment, it is not always possible to use such a heavy finish, because additional load on structural floors can lead to extremely unfavorable consequences.

However, there is a way out - you can create a beautiful imitation of a brick wall. There are several options for such a finish, and you can handle each of them with your own hands. The final result depends solely on your imagination and personal preference.

Before starting work, prepare the fixtures necessary for making decorative "brick" cladding. The list will vary slightly depending on the finishing method you choose, but in general you will need the following:

The simplest version of imitation of brickwork

The easiest imitation option to manufacture brickwork is drawing the corresponding elements of the cladding on a plain wallpaper or simply a painted wall.

Of course, in this case, there is no question of the realism and "bulk" of the masonry, however, the method has a number of great advantages, namely:

The disadvantage, as already noted, is the unnaturalness of the facing. And the finished result looks, to put it mildly, not very attractive. Therefore, it is recommended to use it only in some household and household premises type of dressing room, garage, etc.

For living rooms, choose a more effective method of imitating brickwork from the following ones.

Using masking tape, mark out the bounding paths

We mark the window according to the template with a narrow masking tape and paint over with "brick" acrylic

Homemade gypsum bricks look just as good as factory-made trims. The execution of such cladding does not require the performer to have special skills and large financial costs.

The first step is making a mold

Make a mold for making bricks. The thickness of an individual element can be 5-20 mm. At a lower height, the bricks will quickly break, and the use of large-sized elements will lead to a significant increase in the consumption of plaster for grouting. In addition, too large bricks will visually reduce the area of the room.

The second step is preparing the solution

Prepare a solution for the manufacture of cladding elements. To do this, dilute dry gypsum with water to a state similar to thick sour cream. Lubricate the form prepared at the last stage with soapy water or simple petroleum jelly and pour the finished mass into it.

Align the fill using an ordinary ruler. Leave the mold for 20-30 minutes, then turn it over and carefully remove the finished cladding. Paint the brick the desired color. Sometimes, to obtain the required shade, the product has to be painted in at least three layers. You can varnish the brick if you wish.

The third step is cladding

Start simulating brickwork. To do this, apply the markings to the section of the wall set aside for finishing. At the bottom of the wall, set aside the starting line from which you will begin laying the plaster stones.

To fix the bricks, use an adhesive specially designed for this type of work, for example, tile adhesive. Buy it from a related store.

Lay the first row of bricks in compliance with the selected joint width. Fasten further rows in a checkerboard pattern. Use a notched trowel to apply the adhesive to the wall. For more effect, you can gently break the outermost bricks in each row to make their edges look torn and uneven.

Leave the finish to dry for 1-3 days. You can check the exact drying time of the glue on the package.

Imitation Styrofoam Brick

An imitation of a brick wall can be made from a ceiling foam tile without a pattern. The recommended size of the "bricks" is 150x70 mm. A cladding made of elements with larger dimensions will look unnatural. The procedure for making bricks is extremely simple.

First step. Lay out the tiles. An ordinary gel pen will help you with this. Do not forget to leave small allowances for the tile joints.

Second step. Use a toothpick to push in neat, straight lines along the markings.

Third step. Make a crush. Take a lid from any tin can and cut an even strip out of it. Cut off the edges from one edge of the strip, making a "sting" no more than 2 mm wide. Use this tip to push the marking lines to the end.

Fourth step. Cover the selected section of the wall with ready-made bricks. Use tile adhesive for gluing. Start the cladding from the bottom edge of the wall. The seams do not need to be filled. Leave a 1 to 2 mm gap between the bricks.

Fifth step. Paint the finished veneer. Apply more paint to the gaps. This will create the most realistic imitation of brickwork.

Wood bricks

Imitation of brickwork can be done very easily out of wood.

First step. Buy material for making "bricks". You can use plywood, for example.

Second step. Cut the workpiece into the required number of rectangular pieces of the same size.

Third step. Sand the front of each piece.

Fourth step. Prepare the markings on the wall.

Fifth step. Lay out the bricks according to the markings, starting from the lower opposite corners. Fasten the elements at the same distance corresponding to the seam thickness you have chosen. A gap of a couple of millimeters will be enough. Lay out all the bricks.

Sixth step. Paint or varnish the finished masonry.

The advantage of imitation of a brick wall made of wood is environmental friendliness and impressive durability.

Decorative bricks can be made with dry tile adhesive.

First step. Dissolve the dry component in water until a mixture is obtained with a consistency close to very thick sour cream.

Second step. Divide the resulting mass into 3 approximately equal parts and add a small amount of paint to each of them. Coloring components should have a different shade.

Stir each pile thoroughly. As a result, you will get a lot of beautiful and interesting divorces.

Third step. Roll each pile into a "pancake" and then cut the resulting product into identical bricks. Let the elements dry.

Repeat the above steps until you get the required number of bricks.

Fourth step. Cover the wall with finished bricks. Use tile adhesive to fix the elements.

Fifth step. Fill the seams with a specially formulated compound. It is best to keep the core slightly darker than the cladding.

Sixth step. Cover the finish with a couple of coats of varnish.

Finishing decorative cladding

First step. Mix red and light ocher.

Second step. Add some whitewash to the mixture.

Third step. Treat decorative masonry using the tampon method. To do this, take a sponge, dip it into the thick mixture prepared in the previous steps, and evenly distribute the composition over the lining.

Fourth step. Take liquid paint of a brown shade or close to it. Spray paint over the veneer with a toothbrush.

For a more dramatic and natural look, you can use different tricks colors for each row. For example, you can treat the second row of masonry with hematite with cold, diluted water, cover the third row with a mixture of sienna and white, etc. Apply all coloring compositions according to the same tamping technique. Alternate shades in order.

Finish off with a couple of coats of varnish on the imitation brick wall. If you want to give the cladding a matte surface, carefully sand it with fine-grain sandpaper.

You don't need to be a great master to create an imitation brick wall yourself. Choose the method you like the most and start finishing in accordance with the instructions.

Happy work!

Video - Imitation of a brick wall with your own hands

One of fashion trends in the decoration of the premises - a brick wall. Good for those who have a brick house. All they need is to beat off the plaster and slightly "shaman" what is available. What should the rest of us do? There are wallpapers and tiles "like a brick", but not all of them are far from being believable, and good ones stand almost like a natural brick wall. The best option in this case is a self-made imitation brick for interior decoration... Moreover, "bricks-tiles" can be done separately, or you can arrange the entire wall in one go.

How to make an imitation of a brick wall: a short list of ways

The easiest way is if you have brickwork hidden under the plaster. Cover the plaster, clean the seams, prime and paint. The result is a natural brick wall. Moreover, it will look quite "old" and vintage. Those who are less fortunate will have to imitate this brickwork. The good news is that there are many ways, inexpensive materials available, to make “ brick wall»Can be used on concrete, drywall, plywood ... any more or less durable surface. By the way, most techniques take a little time. So, here's how you can make an imitation brick for interior decoration:

This is just a short list. There are several technological differences at each point. So imitation brick for interior decoration can be done in at least a dozen ways. Let's talk about some in more detail.

Sawn brick

It seems reasonable to have the idea to replace the expensive brick-like finishing tiles with bricks loose on plates. But a brick is needed good quality, without voids, irregularities, underburning or burnt places. In general, a brick is needed expensive. Or old.

An example of sawn bricks ... but these are two "beautiful" parts

It is better to cut it with a circular saw with water cooling. The result is a decorative brick-like tile in a natural color. Tile thickness - at least 8-10 mm. The advantages are clear: low price, no need to paint - there is a natural color. This homemade brick tile is then glued to the walls using regular tile adhesive.

For a more pronounced color, you can cover with a matte varnish

And this is for the decoration of the outer corners

But there are also disadvantages: you need a brick of good quality, but you still have to find it. Plates can break when sawing. Only two of them are obtained with a beautiful surface - the extreme ones. The rest will have to be finalized manually, creating a relief. It is dreary, dusty, long, difficult, and it is not a fact that imitation of a brick will really learn "at the level".

For all its disadvantages, this method is used. And this is the only, perhaps, option for a home-made imitation of brickwork, which can be used for exterior decoration ... For these purposes (finishing the facade of the building), by the way, you can saw the brick in two halves. Everything is cheaper than buying tiles.

How to paint brickwork on a wall

If "wet" or "dusty" work is not your strong point, but you can draw at least a little, you can draw a brick wall. Will be needed acrylic paints, brushes, a pair of natural sponges, masking tape, thick paper plates for mixing paints. When diluting paints, remember that acrylic paints darken as they dry. And one more thing: they dry quickly, but freshly applied ones can be removed with a clean cloth soaked in water.

The whole process in step by step photos

First, we prepare workplace: cover the plinth and the adjacent floor with polyethylene or old wallpaper (it is better to fix it with tape). We outline the borders with masking tape - at the top, on the sides. At the bottom, the limiter is a plinth, although in order not to get dirty, it can be removed.

How to draw bricks on the wall

It takes much longer to describe than to do it all. A beginner can draw about 30 squares of imitation brickwork in a day. For maximum likelihood, there are several secrets, which we will discuss below.

Final touches

To make the brickwork painted on the wall as similar as possible to natural, there are several small secrets:

With some skill and diligence, it is possible to achieve that the painted brickwork looks like natural. The main rule is imperfection and heterogeneity.

Imitation brick for interior decoration from plaster mortar

The general idea is simple: a layer of plaster or tile glue is applied to the wall, a seam is cut / squeezed through it. After processing the edges of the "bricks" and seams, painting, a semblance of brickwork of varying degrees of plausibility is obtained. Everything is simple, but there are significant differences and nuances.

Imitation of bricks for interior decoration of premises from mortar, plaster (ordinary and decorative)

What and how to make a solution

The first question that arises is: what solution and what is needed from? There are many recipes. Here are some options:

Regardless of what you make the solution from, it should be semi-dry, and should not leak in any case. It will not need to be leveled, so its plasticity is not important to you, and the adhesive ability will be provided by additives - tile glue and PVA. To adjust the consistency, add water in small portions.

Surface preparation

The wall on which we will make imitation of brickwork does not have to be flat. It should be free of dust and dirt, crumbling fragments and particles. This is where the requirements end.

The process of preparing the wall is a careful approach: first they make the markings

Before starting work better wall prime. The type of primer depends on the substrate. If the wall is concrete or loose, go through the "concrete contact". It will bind crumbling particles, create a sticky surface, on which any composition fits perfectly. If we decorate plywood, gypsum board or other similar material, you can do without a primer, or you can smear it with diluted PVA.

Technology No. 1. We use thin scotch tape for drawing seams

First, paint the wall in the color of the joints between the bricks. Someone plans a gray-brown, someone white-gray. We cover the wall with paint of a suitable shade. On the prepared base using a narrow masking tape (1 cm or a little less / more), we apply the markings. The adhesive tape will mark the seams between the bricks, so we glue it horizontally, at a distance of about 6-6.5 cm from each other. When the horizontal lines are glued, we glue the short vertical ones. They are at a distance of 23-25 cm from each other - this is the length of a standard building brick, but decorative ones can be shorter.

Now we take the solution and apply it to the wall. The layers are not the same, the thickness is 0.3-0.5 cm. We apply it according to the “how it will turn out” type, without achieving an even surface, smooth transitions ... How did it happen, so be it. We do not allow only obvious bald spots through which the wall shines. We filled the area, took a flat trowel (grater), slightly smoothed what happened. We leave it until it dries slightly: so that when pressed with a finger, the composition is slightly pressed.

We apply the solution without worrying about beauty and the same thickness

We pry the ends of horizontally glued strips of adhesive tape anywhere (sticking, leave the "tails"), pull, removing together with the solution adhered to the tape. We remove the entire mesh. At the same time, the edges of the "bricks" are torn and uneven. This is fine. Even good.

We take a toothbrush or paint brush with fairly stiff bristles. With a toothbrush we go through the seams, removing the remains of the solution. At the same time, the edges of the bricks are rounded. Then we take a wider brush and use it to go through the surface, adding naturalness, removing too sharp edges. Leave to dry at room temperature for about 48-72 hours. You cannot forcibly dry - it will crack. Although, if you want to have cracks ... If the composition was not painted in the mass, it is up to painting.

Technology number 2: cut the "seams"

This way of imitation of bricks for interior decoration takes less time: no need to glue tape. Apply a solution to the wall surface. Everything is exactly the same as described above, only the layer can be thicker - up to 0.8-1 cm. After waiting for the solution to "grab" a little, we designate the seams. Here again, there are options:

The second option is more accurate. But we must make sure that it is not too even. Although, due to the fact that the hand is shaking, the seam slightly "walks", which gives a more believable look.

Having made horizontal seams, we proceed to cutting vertical ones - also by hand. The width of the bricks is about 6 cm, the length is around 23-25 cm. Having finished, we are waiting for 12-14 hours. Until the composition grasps enough to pick it off. When the concrete begins to crumble with a strong pressure, we take a wide screwdriver (the usual one, which is a "spatula") and with it we pick out the solution between the cut strips.

During…

When the seams are cleaned, we take a stiff brush or brush, remove the remnants of the solution, crumbs. The bristles on the brush should be stiff enough. If the solution is dry, you can try more drastic measures - a metal brush.

Technology number 3: saw seams

This method of making an imitation of brickwork for interior decoration differs only in that instead of a knife we take an old hacksaw blade.

After waiting for the mortar to set and not creep, use a saw to mark the boundaries of the seams. Here you choose one of the methods described above. But there is no need to wait any longer: you can gradually paint the seams with a hacksaw. Long horizontal seams are made quickly, but with vertical seams it is not very convenient, since the canvas is not very suitable for short distances.

From afar and you will not understand that this is only an imitation of a brick

This method is good because there is no danger of "overdrying" the solution. You can do "jointing" as soon as the solution hardens a little. In this state, it is easier to round the edges of the bricks, giving them a natural "old age". Minus - you have to adapt, otherwise you can mess things up.

Making a mold for casting brick tiles from gypsum

Another imitation of brick for interior decoration in an apartment or house can be cast: you can make gypsum tiles yourself in the form of bricks. To do this, an impression is removed from interesting specimens of bricks (a mold is made to form an artificial finishing stone), then a gypsum solution is poured into it. The resulting tile is used for wall decoration. This technology is good in that it allows you to prepare several forms in which you can make bricks. different colors for different rooms.

We find bricks interesting in shape and a few almost ordinary ones, but with various small defects. We will use them for casting the mold. It is desirable that there are at least a dozen of them, and better - more. More varied will be "artificial brickwork".

The result can be very similar to real masonry

On the side to be "multiplied", we apply grease or heated wax mixed with kerosene. This is necessary to prevent the silicone from sticking to the surface. When everything is dry, apply a layer of silicone sealant to the treated side. The layer thickness is 1-1.5 cm. We leave until the silicone is completely polymerized (the time depends on the type, it is written on the package).

You can also make the following forms: imitation of bricks with marine motives

When the silicone has hardened, we take the polyurethane foam and coat the mold without removing it from the brick. After the foam hardens, remove the brick, level the bottom of the mold so that it stands level. Can be used by filling with plaster mortar. It sets quickly, if you have a dozen forms in 2-3 days, you can make a tile for a couple of squares imitating a brick wall. By the way, gypsum solution can be painted in bulk. Then new cracks and chips do not matter - like a brick.

How and what to paint

Recently, a white brick wall has become fashionable. If you are going to do just this, there is no problem: with a brush, the seams, the surface with a roller. If you want to have a not too monochromatic, add a little tint to the base coloring composition - gray, brown, yellow ... but at least pink or blue. Paint with this paint. Add more white to the rest and with this, lighter composition, add highlights using a semi-dry roller, sponge, brush. If desired, you can apply the upper "shadows" with silver, bronze, adding a little gold. Here, as you like best.

Imitation brick in the bedroom - it looks very stylish

If the seams in the imitation brick luggage should be darker, first go through them with a brush. Then paint over the very surface of the bricks with a roller with a short or medium pile. If you take a roller with an even shorter nap, dip it in paint of a different shade (lighter or darker - that's how it goes), in bronze, silver, gilding, etc. and with this roller, quickly, slightly touching, paint over the most protruding parts, you get an even more interesting effect. In general, you can experiment. With this approach, imitation brick becomes a design object and the main decoration of the interior.

People always strive to improve their home. The desire to renew the furnishings of the premises always finds an offer in the field of various design developments. The imitation of a brick wall in the interior of the dwelling arouses keen interest on the part of the population. To decorate a room with walls in the form of brickwork, you do not need to do this from natural material. It is enough to create an imitation of it. Few know how to make an imitation of a brick wall. Inventive people have come up with many ways to create various coatings walls depicting a brick wall.

Decorative wall surfaces in the form of brickwork

Brick in the interior can look not only in the form of convex elements of the correct geometric shape. It can be imitated masonry made of wild stone or other natural materials.

You can create an imitation of brickwork with your own hands or purchase a ready-made decorative brick in the form of a tile. In hardware stores, they offer a similar material in a wide range.

Whichever option is chosen to imitate brickwork in the interior of the room, it is necessary to prepare the bases of the walls.

Preparation of walls for decorative finishing

Before you start decorating the walls for brick with your own hands, you need to prepare the surfaces of the fences. The preparation is done in several stages:

  1. The walls are cleared of the old topcoat, dust and dirt.
  2. Surfaces are leveled with putty. The putty is applied on a gypsum base.
  3. After the putty has completely dried, the walls are covered with a primer.

Ways to imitate brickwork

There are various ways to make imitation brickwork. Here are the most popular ones:

Painting method

One of the cheapest options to depict the appearance of brickwork on a wall is to paint the surface of a vertical fence. This can be done in 2 ways.

Option 1 implies performing the following actions:

  • the prepared surface is painted with a roller;
  • the painted wall is drawn into many rectangles; the rectangles should represent the side of the brick;
  • "Bricks" are separated by horizontal and vertical stripes, which should look like masonry joints;
  • the seams are highlighted with dark paint.

In the second option, the seams must be done differently. Vertical and horizontal grooves are pushed through the wet putty. Do it with a suitable tool at hand.

Then the entire surface is primed and painted in the desired color.

The grooves are highlighted in a different color, and sometimes they are left in the same color as the entire wall is painted.

Plastering walls in the form of masonry

Brickwork can be depicted from plaster. This imitation of a brick wall with your own hands attracts with its simplicity. For this method, you need to stock up on a narrow sticky tape (scotch tape). They act as follows:

  1. The prepared wall surface is pasted over with adhesive tape strips. The strips are glued so that they look like seams between bricks.
  2. A layer of plaster is thrown onto the wall. Some experts argue that it is better to do it by hand. Hands must be in rubber gloves.
  3. Depending on the taste of the owners, the plaster surface is embossed or smoothed with a spatula until it is even.
  4. As soon as the layer of plaster on the wall is half solidified, the tape begins to pull upward.
  5. Pull out the adhesive tape so that even grooves remain after it.
  6. As a result, the wall takes on the appearance of brickwork.
  7. The bricks made of plaster on the wall are primed and painted with their own hands.
  8. On a brick wall made of plaster, the grooves in the form of seams are covered with a darker paint.
  9. Use a spatula to correct the decorative relief on wet plaster.
  10. A brick wall made of plaster is primed and painted in the desired color.

Video:

In some cases, adhesive tape is dispensed with. The grooves are punched out under the ruler with a wooden stick.

For greater strength, the plaster mortar is prepared by mixing cement mortar with tile adhesive in a 1: 1 ratio.

Making homemade brick tiles

Do-it-yourself imitation of a brick wall can be made using homemade tiles. To make tiles for a brick, you need to make a mold for casting a plaster decor.

At home, you can make your own silicone mold for casting decorative elements. To do it, proceed as follows:

  • buy liquid silicone and hardener in the store;
  • make a wooden box; it can be made from construction plywood;
  • prepare templates or buy ready-made decorative tiles;
  • mix liquid silicone with a hardener and pour the mixture onto the bottom of the box;
  • decorative tiles or patterns are dipped into liquid silicone face way down;
  • when the mixture hardens, the tiles are taken out of the box; Silicone molds ready for casting homemade bricks.

Making decorative bricks

Having received the finished shape, they begin to make decorative bricks. They make homemade tiles like this:

  1. To make it work decorative coating without damage, the working surface of the mold is lubricated with a fatty compound (petroleum jelly, machine oil or a similar substance).
  2. Prepare liquid gypsum or alabaster.
  3. The solution is poured into a silicone mold.
  4. After 2 - 3 hours, the finished tile is removed from the mold.
  5. Removing the finished product is straightforward. Silicone bends well, and bricks fall out of shape easily.

Before pouring, the bottom of the mold can be coated with a layer of dye. As a result, the finished tile will be painted in the desired color.

Plaster decor is also cast in polyurethane molds. Polyurethane is a more rigid material and practically does not bend.

Tiles are also poured into wooden formwork. The method makes it possible to obtain material with only a flat front surface.

Technique for laying gypsum tiles under a brick

DIY brickwork from gypsum tiles done in the same way as laying ceramic tiles on the walls:

  • bricks are laid on a cement glue mixture or on liquid nails; wooden slats are used to form even seams;
  • long strips are inserted into horizontal seams; vertical slats are made with a length equal to the height of the tiles, or plastic inserts are used;
  • after laying the next row of bricks, the slats are removed; the seams are filled with the same adhesive or a special mixture is used to join the tile gaps;
  • at the end of the work, the brick wall with their own hands is painted or varnished;

Sometimes decorative elements are laid without seams. Small gaps between the tiles are rubbed with putty.

Wallpaper

Imitation brick on the walls can be decorated in the form of wallpaper. Market building materials proposes big choice wallpaper with the image of brickwork.

Paper

Roll wallpaper on paper backing can be decorated in the form of brickwork of various shapes and colors with or without joining. Imitated paper-based masonry is one of the cheapest options for decorating walls like a brick.

Roll wallpaper on a paper basis is sold 50 cm wide and 10 m long. They are easy to cut into convenient lengths. Of all types of finishing interior walls paper wallpaper- the cheapest material.

Vinyl

A brick wall with your own hands can be made from vinyl wallpaper... The embossed vinyl covering well conveys the structure of the masonry. Convex shapes create a full-fledged visual perception of a natural brick wall.

The main advantage of vinyl coverings is their high moisture resistance, so vinyl surfaces can not only be wet cleaned, but also simply washed.

The liquid wallpaper

The material is easy to process. With the help of an improvised tool, the surface liquid wallpaper formed in the form of a brickwork relief. Pliable soft material allows you to create imitation of masonry elements of the most diverse shapes and colors.

Wallpaper is glued to the prepared walls quickly, and the gluing process does not particularly clog the room, with the exception of small wallpaper scraps.

Styrofoam

An interesting solution is offered by designers in the design of wall decor in the form of foam bricks. Polyfoam is a soft, unusually light material with low thermal conductivity and high sound insulation. Decorate the walls with styrofoam like this:

  1. With a cutting tool, any masonry relief can be easily cut out on the surface of the foam. The face planes of the bricks are also formed.
  2. Treated foam boards are primed and painted.
  3. Styrofoam has high adhesion, so it can be attached to walls with any glue. PVA glue is often used.

However, it should be noted that the main disadvantage of this type of finish is its softness and fragility. In case of careless handling, the surface of the foam is easily damaged.

Repairing damaged foam areas is quite simple:

  • foam crumbs are kneaded with PVA glue;
  • fill with a spatula with a mixture of damage;
  • the repaired area is primed and painted;
  • if the damage is of a larger scale, then an unusable piece of decoration is cut out; in its place, a new foam is glued.

Wooden planks

The surface of the flesh-colored wood perfectly conveys the color of the surface of the fired brick. A parquet board is used as a decor.

If the farm has the appropriate woodworking equipment, then the planks can be made independently.

Planks are best made from conifers wood. "Brickwork" in the interior of any room in the form of wooden bricks will add a special touch to the interior.

Wooden elements are fixed to the walls with a special wood glue. You can also use other adhesives (PVA, liquid nails, etc.).

To emphasize the texture of the wood, the boards are opened with furniture varnish.

Seams between masonry elements are best made from wooden battens. In no case should wet formulations be used. Moisture can saturate the wood and destroy its structure.

It does not matter what material they make do-it-yourself imitation of brickwork. The main thing is that the decorative wall decoration brings aesthetic pleasure from the perception of the interior of the entire room. All of the above materials are environmentally friendly and will decorate any interior in accordance with the tastes of the home owners.

Exists different options imitation of brickwork with your own hands. They allow you to create a surface that will completely repeat the brick coating. This makes it possible to embody exceptional design ideas into life, creating an interior that will be filled with beauty and comfort.

Do-it-yourself imitation of a brick wall is performed different ways... Some of them require the necessary skills, others are practically ready-made options... Each method is suitable for a specific case.

Ready views

Currently, there are ones that completely repeat the texture of the brick. The advantage of such products is their low cost and ease of installation, which differs depending on the type of product. The following options are highlighted:

All options have their advantages and disadvantages, but there are ways to make an imitation of brickwork - exclusively with your own hands.

Corrugated board application

The use of corrugated cardboard sheets is a rather peculiar way that makes it possible to create a decorative surface, spending a minimum of materials for this. Work requires the following components:

  • Directly cardboard. You can use boxes for household appliances... The main thing is that their density is not low.
  • High quality paper napkins (firm, not torn).
  • PVA. For work, you need a large amount of glue.
  • Handicraft gun (refueled with hot melt glue).
  • Stationery knife, ruler and pencil.
  • Paint and varnish. For the final stage of finishing.

Materials required for the manufacture of brick inlay from corrugated cardboard

Advice! Thin cardboard - not the best solution... It will not allow you to create the necessary texture. If it is not possible to use thicker material, then you can go for some trick. It consists in the fact that the fragments are glued together to create the required thickness.

To imitate brickwork from corrugated cardboard, it is better to use dense material

The technology consists in a sequence of actions:

Thus, it is possible to form decorative wall under a brick with your own hands, which does not require large financial costs.

Finished Corrugated Masonry

Using a stencil and plastering pattern

This is a simple option requiring only the utmost care. The work is as follows:

  • A layer of plaster is applied to the surface. The thickness must be more than 4-5 mm, otherwise you will not get an expressive texture.
  • Next, a stencil is taken. It can be rubber or plastic.
  • It is well moistened with water so that the main side does not stick to the wet solution.
  • The stencil is applied to the surface and pressed. It is necessary to remove it from the wall carefully, because with sudden movements you can remove part of the mixture.
  • The procedure is repeated. It is important to keep in mind that the horizontal lines must match. If you do not follow this, then fragmentary areas are obtained, unrelated to each other.
  • At the end, the imitation brickwork is well primed and waxed. The seams are embroidered. The surface is painted with acrylic paints.

On a note! To create a more interesting effect, color is added directly to the plaster. Then it is possible to create a play of shades, because the joints are painted in other options. Do not forget that if you paint the wall directly, then after drying, the shade will become slightly darker.

A brick wall with your own hands from fresh plaster can turn out without using a stencil. The technology is as follows:

  1. Lines are drawn on the surface to indicate the seams in the brickwork. This is done a little arbitrary to make it look more natural.
  2. With the help of a narrow scraper, the plaster is removed. The joints are immediately rubbed with a dry brush. This will shape the relief and also smooth out the bricks a bit.
  3. The finished wall is primed and painted.

These methods allow you to decorate only a newly made layer of plaster. If, after applying the plaster solution, some time has passed, and it managed to dry out, then it will not work to create a brick wall using the above methods.

Putty bricks

This option is used when the idea of creating a wall for a brick came some time after plastering. In this case, for its implementation, a putty is used, which is pre-painted in the desired color.

Brick-like wall made of putty

The general procedure is as follows:

  • The wall is well cleaned of dirt and dust. Degrease if necessary. A layer of primer is applied.
