Registration of a permit for the installation of a heating convector

To create a comfortable temperature regime in the house, it is necessary to correctly select and install all the items for heating. These can be boilers, pipes, various batteries, as well as convectors.
Heating convectors are quite popular things in everyday life, which have been used for a long time for full or additional heating of residential premises.

They are used both in country houses, and in high-rise apartments, they work on simple principle natural convection. That is, the cold air that is from below, it heats, turning it into warm, then warm air, becoming lighter, rises higher, and another cold air comes in its place.

Convectors are electric, electromechanical, gas. And if for the first two, when using them in individual heating, no papers are required, since, in fact, everything complies with safety requirements and laws, and your electricity costs are already your problems, then for a gas convector you will need to draw up the necessary package of documents ...
For full information, you need to contact the company that owns your boiler room. It could be Gorgaz, ZhEK and Teplokommunenergo. If you do not live in a private house, but in an apartment, then you need to find out which company the boiler room belongs to, then contact that company with a request to disconnect your apartment from central heating (if technically possible), and create an individual heating project.

If these actions are technically possible, then you will be provided with a protocol on a positive solution to the issue. But all this needs to be done only if you live in an apartment, in the case when you live in a private house, you can skip this point. Next, you need to get documents for technical conditions in the same companies that provide utilities, this is if you have an apartment.

And only then we turn to design organization, which creates projects for private houses and apartments. After the project has been created, and it must be created in two copies, you contact Gorgaz. There you will agree on the timing of connecting the gas convector to the general gas supply system, and there you will be taken from you one copy of the project.

This is the case with the gas convector. An electric heating convector can be installed without problems, the main thing is that it meets all technical requirements. But in fact, any convector of the new generation is very convenient, it is inexpensive, compact, fits organically into different interior apartment or house and, of course, creates a cozy temperature in your home.

Today for equipment autonomous system heating in country houses is most often used gas appliances... The cost of natural gas is the lowest compared to all types of fuel. That's why gas boilers and got this wide use... But in addition to them, the thermal convector is quite relevant today. gas type... Its work is based on convection heating of air for heating the room. The article will tell you about this equipment and its installation.

Consider a gas convector, its principle of operation is very simple and is based on the ability of a gas to change its properties when the temperature level rises. When cold air passes through the heat exchanger of the convection device, it heats up, decreases in weight and begins to rise. Further, new portions of air masses come. This process is called convection.

The convector can operate on liquefied gas and natural gas.

To change the power supply of the device, you need to reconfigure gas valve... Most often, a gas convector is placed under a window. This makes the unit more efficient. Since it is in this place of the room that the heat loss is greatest.

Consider the device of a gas convector for heating a living space. As a rule, the device consists of the following components:

Depending on the device, all devices are divided into two types: fireplace and parapet. The principle of operation of the fireplace type is similar to the operation of a conventional stove. Parapet options are safer and more environmentally friendly. They are easier to install. Therefore, it is the most widely produced and used species.

Characteristics of gas convectors

Considering the heating reviews, we can say that consumers appreciate these devices. And this is not surprising. After all, gas-type convectors have a lot of positive sides. Of course, like any device, there are a number of disadvantages, but they are not essential.

The main advantages are:

Of the minuses, one can name the need to obtain a permit for installation, the gas pipeline must be supplied separately to each convector, the dimensions are slightly larger than that of a water radiator. The most important disadvantage is that outside wall for mounting, you will have to punch rather large holes.

Installing a gas convector

It is very easy to install a gas-type convector on your own. But before proceeding to the installation process, it is important to choose the appropriate model of the device. On sale there are both domestic inexpensive options and foreign ones, the cost of which is higher. The most important thing is that the product is of high quality and reliable.

Convector Alpine air

Of the imported devices, we can name the Alpine air gas convector from a Turkish manufacturer. This is a high quality series of devices with cast iron heat exchanger. Appearance the unit is quite attractive. Heating power ranges from 2.5 to 9 kW. There are products equipped with a fan.

Convector Akog

It is worth noting the Ukrainian gas convector Akog for heating. The manufacturer produces five models with a capacity of 2.3 to 5 kW. The service life is quite long and amounts to 15 years. All models are equipped with Italian safety automatics, microfire igniter.

When gas equipment is purchased, you need to decide on its location. It must fit the dimensions of the device. It is allowed to place convectors only under the window. For installation, you need to prepare the following tools: an electric drill, a pipe cutter, polyurethane foam, silicone, a wrench, metal-plastic pipe, a set of screwdrivers, a gas tap, plastic dowels and self-tapping screws.

In fact, installing a gas convector with your own hands is not difficult at all.

When the location is selected, mark the output of the coaxial pipe. Using a perforator, a hole with a round crown is cut. It is necessary that there is a slight slope towards the street. This will avoid problems in rainy weather.

The dimensions of the pipe extension are made taking into account the characteristics of the model. The device is fixed to the wall with four dowels. Studs may also work. It all depends on the weight. A gap forms between the pipe and the wall. It must be filled in with a special polyurethane foam... The gas is supplied either with a flexible gas hose or with a rigid pipeline. It is important to check the tightness of the connection. The fan and the automatics work from the mains, which must be supplied individually. But you can connect and.

Despite the fact that heating convectors gas reviews all users agree on such an advantage of these units as ease of installation, it is advisable to entrust the installation to specialists with a license to carry out such work. This is especially true for connecting to a gas pipeline. After all, the safety and durability of the equipment largely depends on a high-quality installation.

But consumers know little about what a gas convector is.

A gas heat convector is a device that is capable of generating heat through the combustion of gas. The design of the unit is quite simple.

  1. Burner. An igniter is connected to it.
  2. A heat exchanger, the task of which is to give off heat to the air passing through it. To heat more air, the heat exchanger is made finned (to increase the area).
  3. System for the removal of combustion products.
  4. The automation system is installed for safety purposes and shuts down the unit in case of problems in operation.
  5. The thermostat ensures the maintenance of the set temperature in the room.
  6. The housing is used to protect the device and is made of metal coated with heat-resistant paint.

The figure below shows the construction of a gas convector.

The principle of operation of the apparatus is that the gas, when burned in the chamber, heats heat exchanger... The air flow, passing through the lower openings of the unit, moves through the heat exchanger, takes heat and exits heated into the room through the upper openings. Meanwhile, from the chamber, the products of combustion gas are removed to the outside with the help of double-walled branch pipe(coaxial). Through it, fresh air enters the apparatus from the street to maintain the combustion process.

The principle of operation of the convector

Types of gas convectors

Heaters are classified by type of installation - there are wall and floor models. Distinctive features wall devices can be called their compactness, light weight, efficiency. But they are limited in performance. Their maximum power ratings can only reach up to 10 kW. If you need to warm up a room with a large area, then for this it is better to use a model outdoor type. But such heaters have a large mass, due to big size heat exchanger. Their power can reach several mW.

Wall hung gas boiler

Advantages and disadvantages of gas convectors

Among the advantages of gas heaters are the following factors.

  1. Economic indicator... much cheaper gas systems heating. But the latter benefit from a low operating cost. For example, if we take a standard model with a cast-iron heat exchanger with a capacity of about 3 kW, then its cost will be 2 times higher in comparison with an electric one of the same power. We also know that 1 kW of electricity and 1 m 3 of gas are similar in price. But to produce 1 kW of thermal energy, only 0.1 m 3 of gas is required. It is due to this that savings are achieved during operation. These calculations are only applicable when using gas convectors with main natural gas.
  2. The possibility of using bottled gas. The unit is easily converted to work on propane. This possibility allows the use of gas convectors for summer cottages or other places where there is no main gas supply. But in terms of economic indicators, devices for heating on bottled propane are also not profitable, like electric ones.
  3. Environmental friendliness. A closed-chamber heater does not burn out oxygen in the room.
  4. No heating medium required. To use this type gas heaters installation of a hot water heating system is not required, as is the case with autonomous heating ( gas boiler). This is convenient if you will use the unit in the country or in the garage. V winter time when the device is turned off, the water in the system will not freeze, since there is no liquid in it.

But such devices also have certain disadvantages of use.

Convector selection

How to choose a gas convector? First of all, attention is paid to specifications unit. The most the best option can be considered a device with a closed combustion chamber and a cast iron heat exchanger. The presence of a programmable control unit is considered important. Consider other factors to look out for when choosing a domestic gas convector.

Machine power

Since heating is carried out by air circulation, the units work effectively in only one room. Therefore, each room will require the installation of a separate unit. The power is determined from the calculation: 100 watts are required per 1 m 2 of area.

Heat exchanger material

Since gas heating convectors operate on gas that burns in a special chamber, the heat exchanger is exposed to strong temperature effects. If it burns out after some time, the device fails. Therefore, the material of this part must be resistant to high temperatures... The leader among heat exchanger materials is cast iron... This metal is resistant to thermal stress, in addition, it cools very slowly and distributes heat evenly. Gas convectors with a cast iron heat exchanger can last up to 50 years. The main disadvantages of such devices are the high price and large mass of the unit. Heater with heat exchanger made of become cheaper and lighter. But when choosing a unit, you should pay attention to the quality of the steel. Steel heat exchangers can last at least 20 years.

Combustion chamber type

Heaters may differ structurally by the type of combustion chambers:

  1. Open the combustion chamber. The installation of a unit with such a chamber requires the installation of a chimney with access to the roof. In addition, during the operation of the unit, air will be taken from the room to maintain the combustion process. Therefore, good ventilation of the room is required.
  2. Closed the combustion chamber. Such models are more popular, since there is no need for a pipe outlet through the roof (a coaxial pipe is installed opposite the device). And another plus can be called the fact that oxygen is not burned out in the room, since air is taken outside the building.

Fan presence

A gas convector with a fan heats up the entire room quickly and evenly. Due to the forced supply of air to the heat exchanger, the latter is better cooled. And since overheating is not allowed, the service life of the heat exchanger is significantly increased.

Room type

If you want to install a convector in the apartment, then the best choice there will be an apparatus with a combustion chamber closed type and chimney with coaxial pipe... This type of apparatus does not burn oxygen in the room. V private buildings you can install any. But when using the device with open chamber combustion, the room must have supply ventilation.

Type of fuel

Usage liquefied gas prohibited in apartment buildings... Therefore, the device is connected only to the highway... In private houses use a gas convector bottled gas it is possible, provided that the cylinder is installed outdoors in a special metal cabinet.

The amount of fuel consumed

Fuel consumption in gas heating equipment is considered economical. To calculate the gas consumption, the basic parameters are taken:

  • 1 kW of power will require 0.11 m 3 of gas from the main;
  • 1 kW of power will require 0.09 m 3 of liquefied gas.

Based on these indicators, you can make a calculation. For example, a 4 kW heater (designed for 40 m 2 of area) will consume 0.44 m 3 of gas per hour of operation, and 10.56 m 3 per day. But, since the device does not work all the time, this figure will be much less.

Installing the convector

Before installing the gas convector, it is necessary to study the requirements and recommendations for installation, which are described in the instructions for the device.

Before installing the gas convector, you need to choose a place for its placement. According to GOST, the unit must be mounted under a window. The main installation steps are described below.

  1. We try on the device to the chosen place, use a tape measure to transfer the places under the holes for the chimney and gas pipe. In some models gas pipe is supplied from below, so it is necessary to leave room for its eyeliner.
  2. After that, the most time-consuming operation has to be performed - punching a large-diameter hole in the wall for the chimney. You can use a puncher and make a hole with diamond core bit... If there is no crown, then you can break through the wall by switching the punch to the jackhammer mode (when the punch is in operation, a lot of dust will form, so cover all the furniture with foil in advance).
  3. Next, you need to prepare holes for fasteners and hammer dowels into them.
  4. Now you can connect the pipe to the heater and seal the joint with a sealant (high temperature).
  5. Lift the device together with the pipe and insert it into the hole in the wall, then fix the device with self-tapping screws. Since the unit is heavy, you will need help to lift it. Floor heating apparatus It has special legs.
  6. After that, it is necessary to seal all the gaps between the chimney and the wall with high-temperature sealant or foam.
  7. At the end of the chimney, attach a cap that prevents the wind from blowing out the flame (the cap and fasteners to it are included with the device) - the installation of the gas convector is complete.

Connection to the mains, as well as the repair of gas equipment, should be carried out only by specialists. If you are going to use a gas convector with a cylinder connection, then a special permit is not required. But still, it is better for the gas service workers to do it.

In conclusion, it can be said that the use of gas convection equipment can be a relatively simple and inexpensive solution to the heating problem for different types premises. Attracted by the fact that the installation of such equipment does not cause great difficulties (except for connecting the device to the mains).

Modern spectrum heating appliances very wide. One of these devices is a gas convector. Market heating systems saturated with gas convectors of various companies. In this article, we will take a closer look at the process of installing a gas convector.

Cost and quality of a gas convector

Prices for gas convectors are formed depending on the manufacturer and the power of the device. The cost of the device is also influenced by its quality. Thus, a gas convector from one Ukrainian manufacturer, purchased last year for 900 hryvnia, has been functioning for a year without interruption. In total, there were two such devices in operation. One of them went out of order after having worked for 5 months. Further repair of the device turned out to be unprofitable. It was more expedient to buy a new gas convector than to repair the old one. The second such device worked for the entire heating season and was turned off. With the onset of the next heating season, it was not possible to start the device. Its renovation was also extremely unprofitable.

The same cannot be said about two Turkish-made gas convectors. These devices were purchased for 1000 and 1500 hryvnia (200 and 300 dollars at last year's exchange rate). Different in capacity, but from the same manufacturer, they have successfully worked the entire heating season, were turned off and re-commissioned with the onset of cold weather without any problems.

Thus, you see a striking difference in quality from different manufacturers.

Types of gas convectors

Convectors differ from each other only in design and in the presence / absence of a fan, which, blowing over the combustion chamber, drives warm air faster.

Gas convectors vary in power. Power affects the volume of the heated room.

The principle of operation of a gas convector

Natural gas is burned in a cast iron combustion chamber. The device has a combined inlet-outlet pipe. Through it, oxygen necessary for combustion enters the gas convector, and combustion products are released. For combustion, the device does not require an impressive chimney to provide draft.

So, having finished with the theoretical part, let's move on to practice and learn how to install a gas convector.

Installing a gas convector

Materials and tools:

  • Gas convector
  • Reinforced-plastic pipe with metal fittings
  • Pipe cutter
  • Wrench for tightening the threaded connections of the fittings
  • Sanitary silicone
  • Gas cock
  • Rotary hammer with crowned blade
  • Drill with drill
  • crosshead screwdriver
  • High temperature polyurethane foam
  • High temperature silicone
  • Plastic dowels and screws for them.
  1. The first and most important step is choosing a place for installing the convector. According to GOSTs, the convector must be installed under the window. With what it is connected, I, frankly, do not know. And, besides, I saw convectors installed at a great distance from the windows. Perhaps the principle works here: for money, any GOST will be customized for you. We will not go into these details. We are interested in the process itself.
  2. So, having chosen a place for installation, you should try on the convector in place. This can be done using a measuring tape or simply by attaching the convector to the wall and marking the holes.
  3. Important is next moment- gas inlet. If it is located in the lower part of the convector, a sufficient distance should be left for routing the pipe with the clamping fitting to it.
  4. After that, we punch a through hole in the wall with a perforator along the diameter of the exhaust pipe. This is the most time consuming process. Prepare to dust the room. Cover everything you can with plastic wrap or rags in advance.
  5. After that, drill the holes for the fasteners and drive the dowels into them.
  6. Insert the chimney into the hole in the convector. Treat the joint with high temperature silicone. Holding the convector in your hands, push the pipe through the hole in the wall. Fix the convector to the wall plugs with self-tapping screws. This process is also quite difficult. The convector is heavy enough. In general, there are many opinions about the process I described. Here everyone acts as they like, but my recommendations have been repeatedly tested in practice and are the most reliable. As a result of the work done, you will receive a convector screwed to the wall and an outlet pipe sticking out into the street.
  7. Seal the gaps between the pipe and the wall with high temperature foam.
  8. Place the supplied cap on the end of the pipe. It serves to prevent wind blowing of the burner. The cap is attached with self-tapping screws, also included in the kit.

The convector has been installed, let's take care of the gas supply.

Gas supply to the convector

  1. GOST requires that the pipe, suitable for the convector, go down the street. We will act in accordance with it. If the gas pipe has a pre-drawn threaded connection, then we screw on the gas valve, which cuts off the gas supply to the convector. If the pipe does not have such a branch, it will need to be done. Such work should be done by a gas welder. A specialist from Gorgaz or a similar office is desirable.
  2. When the gas valve is installed, you should lead the plastic pipe to the convector. Using a tape measure, we calculate the length of the pipe, determine the presence of fittings.
  3. We purchase pipes and fittings. When buying a pipe and fittings, find out about the availability of a certificate of conformity for these pipes and fittings for this type of work.
  4. Now lay the pipe, attach it to the clips every meter. To install the clips, drill holes in the wall.
  5. When installing fittings, lubricate the pipe and fitting with silicone. This will provide additional sealing. In addition, the silicone will lubricate and facilitate pipe installation.

The result of the work should be a convector hanging on the wall, a chimney with a hood and a gas pipe laid and connected to the convector.

Test run of the gas convector

  1. Before starting, it is necessary to open the gas valve and go through all the joints of the fittings, threaded connections with a brush moistened with aqueous solution soap or shampoo. If you notice any inflating bubbles, immediately turn off the tap and repair the leak.
  2. After checking the joints, start the convector. To do this, hold down the gas supply button for about a minute, allowing the gas to pass through the pipes and enter the combustion chamber.
  3. Click on the piezo pilot. The spark will light the gas and a merry, blue flame will burst into the furnace.
  4. Adjust the convector operation to achieve a comfortable temperature.

In the first hours of operation, it is allowed to have bad smell burning oil. The convector is new, the combustion chamber burns out. If the smell does not disappear for a long time, you should turn off the gas and carefully inspect the junction of the exhaust pipe with the convector outlet.

Attention: It is advisable to carry out all the above work by a specialist. After all self-installation convector will void your right to repair the appliance under warranty. In addition, the convector must be accepted by Gorgaz or another similar service. There should be a sidebar project. And all the necessary permits and conclusions of the commission for the acceptance of the device into operation.

However, with this knowledge, you will be able to control the installation process of the gas convector by the specialists of the operating office.

Warmth to your home.
