Why is it more practical to do it yourself

It is always easier for a layman to buy a shoe locker rather than tinkering with it. However, there are a number of nuances:

  1. First, the assortment of inexpensive shelves is often scarce.
  2. Secondly, the dimensions of the shelves in stores do not correspond to rational calculation. The foot of the average CIS resident is still much larger than the Chinese, who supply most of the inexpensive furniture, assume.
  3. In addition, the height of the shelves is almost always the same. This is not entirely logical, since in winter people wear high-toed boots.

It is better to have one shelf with a higher height or hooks on the sides of the shelf to adjust the height yourself depending on the season.

What to consider when choosing material and components

Is it difficult to make a standard shoe cabinet? The obvious answer is no, not difficult. It is necessary to take into account a number of nuances before completing the drawings, purchasing material and starting assembly.

Let's take a look at the most important details Your future shoe cabinet:

Note: buying one standard sheet of chipboard and sawing it as a result turns out to be more expensive than ordering from a furniture store / production exactly the number of parts and those sizes that you provide in the drawings.

  • the shelves do not have to be made of wood. Take a closer look at the type of dish drainer shelves. Lattice metal shelves - this is the best option;
  • chipboard is a material that combines cheapness and functionality. Laminated sheets are sold in many furniture stores and small factories;
  • the back wall of the cabinet can be made of hardboard - pressed cardboard, which is often used in furniture production.

Designer notes

In order for the design of the cabinet to be practical, you need to take into account the peculiarities of storing shoes and correctly calculate the dimensions of the shelves:

  • the bottom of the cabinet should not be covered by anything, otherwise water will collect inside;
  • shoes need ventilation. This can be several holes in the sidewalls if the cabinet is planned to be closed (with doors);
  • the depth of the shelves should match the length of the box from the largest pair of shoes in the house.

How to calculate cabinet dimensions

Shoe cabinet sketch

Provided that the largest pair of shoes in the house is 42 sizes, i.e. 27 cm long, the shelf should have a "depth" with a margin - let's say, 28 cm.

Depending on the size of the shoe, the size needs to be varied. The large side of the shelf depends on the number of pairs of shoes to be put in:

  • collect all the shoes that you plan to put in the locker and measure how much space it takes up in a row;
  • consider the projected number of shelves (3 or 4);
  • lay a small margin in the width of the shelf.

Chipboard thickness - 16 mm. Accordingly, the outer width of the cabinet will be 32 mm larger than the shelf width.

What do you need

It should be noted that the sizes below are calculated based on the fact that the maximum shoe size is 42nd.

External dimensions of the cabinet: height - 1200 mm, length (depth) - 320 mm, and width - 900 mm. It is necessary to choose sizes so that they are close to the dimensions of standard parts that are in every furniture store.

In this case, the set of necessary parts is as follows:

    • 4 lattice or chipboard (according to your taste) shelves 864 mm wide and 280 mm deep;
    • top cover standard size 900 by 320 mm;
    • side walls with a height of 1184 (taking into account the thickness of the top cover, 16 mm will be the height of the cabinet) and a length ("depth") of 320 mm;
      frames (small parts made of chipboard) 100 mm high and 868 mm wide for fastening the structure at the back and front, called drawers;

Helpful advice: over the last shelf, you can pull a rope so that with the help of small clothespins you can fasten the tops of the boots: this way they will not break.

  • curly facades (improvised doors) made of MDF with a height of 1195 mm and a width of 447 mm (2 doors plus a 4 mm margin for ease of opening);
  • fiberboard sheet with a height of 1195 mm and a width of 895 mm for the manufacture of the back wall;
  • 4 hinges for furniture;
  • 2 door handles;
  • 8 confirmations (5 by 70 mm). Confirmate - a special furniture screw for fastening cabinet elements;
  • self-tapping screws 16 by 4 mm - it is better to take with a margin, a few dozen;
  • adjustable shelf supports: 4 per shelf.

Connection technology

The assembly of the shoe cabinet is carried out in the following order:

  1. The holes in the side walls for inserting the confirmations must be made with a diameter of about 8 mm, and at the ends of the frames-drawers - with a diameter of 5 mm. The drilling depth is half the length of the furniture screw.
  2. Metal corners will give rigidity to the cabinet. They will also be needed if you will be fixing the finished structure to the wall.
  3. Hinges for facades, corners, back wall must be fixed with self-tapping screws.
  4. Attach shelf supports, front handles and hang shelves.
  5. You can place the cabinet on the floor to sit on when you put on your shoes, but it's best to hang it up and find another use for the countertop.

Helpful advice: if everything is in order with the ventilation, then the cabinet will be dry enough and you can also hide the Internet connection in it. Then there will be a Wi-Fi router on top of the countertop.

If you spend some time on designing and creating drawings, then your locker will turn out to be much more practical and cheaper than the products of Chinese craftsmen.

You can buy various pieces of furniture in the store, but it will be much cheaper to make them yourself. Such a solution will be not only profitable, but also allow you to embody design ideas. home master... A do-it-yourself shoe rack can be made from scrap materials. It is not at all necessary to purchase a whole sheet of chipboard for work, furniture boards will be enough. Such blanks can be bought at any store. building materials... They are completely ready for assembly - they have edges and are cut into equal parts.

Preparation before starting work

If you make a shoe rack with your own hands, then you can purchase for it metal mesh... Their standard width can be equal to 46.4; 56.4; 76.4, as well as 86.4 centimeters. If there is a need to make a structure of a non-standard size, then the mesh can be ordered depending on your wishes, but this approach will cost a little more. If the shelves will have the most impressive width, which was mentioned above, then external dimensions The shoe racks will be as follows: 120x90x34 cm.The depth of 34 cm will be enough to fit medium-sized boots there.

If you make a shoe rack with your own hands, then important point is functionality and compactness. To do this, it is recommended to arrange the shelves at a certain slope, which will be turned inward. In this case, the cabinet will take up the minimum amount of space.

Preparation of parts

When a shoe rack is made by hand, several elements are prepared. Among them are sidewalls, facades, top cover, rear wall and drawers. The last three elements will be needed in a single copy, while the sidewalls and facades will be needed in the amount of 2 pieces. The sides can be made of furniture board, and the facades will look great from MDF or chipboard. The back wall can be formed from hardboard.

If a shoe rack with a seat in the hallway will be made, then one should not forget about the presence of fasteners.

Preparation of fittings and fasteners

The master will have to purchase 8 confirmations, 4x16 screws, front handles and dowels, furniture steel corners, 4 hinges and a drill, as well as a hammer and a screwdriver.

Assembling

With the help of confirmations, you need to fix the drawers on the sidewall. To do this, under the fasteners, you need to make through holes, the diameter of which will be 8 millimeters. The drawers in the end parts should have small holes, the depth of which will be 60 millimeters. All holes must match as closely as possible. Half of the corners should be screwed to the top cover, while the remaining 4 are used instead of wall fasteners. They need to be installed to the side parts.

If you are going to make a shoe rack with a seat in the hallway, then all the elements are pulled together with self-tapping screws. Before fastening the hardboard, you need to check how flat the box will be, its diagonals should be equal to each other. On the vertical sides of the facades, measure 15 cm from the bottom and from the top. Whereas 2.2 cm should be retreated deeper. At the marked points, holes with a diameter of 3.5 cm should be made. At the next stage, the doors are installed and fastened, and the handle is fixed.

Such a shoe rack, the drawings of which can be drawn up by you yourself, is installed on the floor or suspended at a certain height from the surface. This will allow wet cleaning under the new piece of furniture. The distance between the second and lower shelves should be 35 cm, which will allow you to place your boots there.

Making a compact shoe rack

If there is not too much space in your hallway, you can make a compact model of a shoe rack. Any master is able to cope with these works. First of all, prepare long shoe brushes, special plywood, self-tapping screws, spikes, wood glue, moisture resistant varnish, acrylic paint and a brush.

Work technology

A shoe rack, the size of which you can select depending on the number of family members, must be manufactured according to a certain method. It involves the use of brushes at the first stage. 6 holes should be drilled in the plywood edge, into which the spikes, pre-treated with glue, are installed. Identical holes are made in the plywood, which will subsequently allow the elements to be smeared and connected to each other. For reliability, the workpieces are pulled together with clamps.

This design will also have side elements that are installed in the same way. With the help, you should saw off the handles from the brushes, if any. In each of them, drill two holes and screw the blanks with short self-tapping screws to the base. Brushes will exclude damage to shoes during the operation of your homemade construction... It is recommended to place the shoe rack with some slope in relation to the vertical surface. This will allow the shoe to stay on the shelves and not fall out.

Conclusion

A metal shoe rack is considered not very practical, since, for example, lacquered shoes in it can be accidentally damaged. However, it is still possible to make it, for this you should use new ones that are installed in several rows using metal corners or wooden slats. It is recommended to paint the last elements to match the color of the dryer. Self-made shoe rack is not only a useful piece of furniture. It can be an excellent decor for your hallway interior - it all depends on the imagination of the master and the desire to create.

A shoe rack, it is also a shelf for storing shoes, should be in every home, otherwise sheer chaos will reign in the hallway. By putting your shoes on a special shelf or putting them in a drawer, you maintain order and cleanliness in the house, and protect the shoes from the encroachment of pets. The widest assortment of such designs is presented in furniture stores, but it is not always possible to find a suitable option for the interior, or the cost of products is prohibitively high. In this article, we will look at several options for creating a stylish and functional do-it-yourself shoe rack.

The most important requirement for a shoe rack is the ability to accommodate every family member's daily shoes. That is, a modest small locker is suitable for a bachelor, and for a family of 3-4 people, the size of a shoe rack should be appropriate. The main problem with store models is that most of them were made in China, where, as you know, they have a weakness for everything miniature and compact. In this case, compactness is not synonymous with ergonomics, so you have to pick up a hammer, boards and learn how to make a shoe rack with your own hands.

Another drawback of almost all shoe cabinets offered by stores is the complete lack of ventilation. Imagine this situation - you returned home on a rainy autumn Friday evening, took off your shoes, put your wet shoes on a shelf, and set out to spend the entire weekend at home. By Monday, when you have to go to work again, your damp leather shoes will look pretty bad. Ventilation is essential to keep your shoes in good condition and to extend their lifespan.

So, what qualities an ideal shoe rack should have:

  1. Ergonomics - a shoe cabinet should not occupy half of the hallway.
  2. Functionality - This includes the concept of spaciousness and use for other purposes. For example, you can sit down on a cabinet (the role of a stool), put things (the role of a bedside table), and a shoe rack with a mirror will become a kind of dressing table.
  3. The presence of good ventilation - we do not hint that it is necessary to install fans and pipes inside the cabinet, it is enough to simply provide the flow of fresh air in a natural way.
  4. Aesthetics - appearance and the design of the shoe rack should be in harmony with the interior.

All the shoe rack schemes described below fully comply with these requirements.

Shoe rack dryer

This shoe rack will appeal to lovers of simple and practical solutions... It was based on a classic hanging dish drainer. Why not? The structure does not stand on the floor, which means that it can be easily cleaned up under it. The shelves are not solid, but in the form of stainless steel gratings, which means that water or melted snow will flow quietly through the bars of such a metal shoe rack, they can be quickly washed by wiping with a rag. Such furniture looks quite original and minimalistic - no unnecessary bulky doors, legs and decorative elements. This option is perfect for a high-tech and loft style apartment.

Helpful Hint: If pets live in the house, it is still better to make light doors to protect your shoes. Use glass or plastic for this.

The best part about DIY work is that you can set any sizes. So, when drawing up a drawing of a shoe rack, consider which shoes you use most often. For example, if a fisherman with a 45 foot size lives at home, who uses high rubber boots every other day, then the dimensions of the shelf should be appropriate. The upper part of such a "dryer" can be set aside for house slippers or light shoes. Do not put dirty or wet shoes there, so that the shoes on the floor below are not damaged.

To make such a cabinet, you do not need to buy a whole sheet of chipboard at all - ordinary furniture boards are enough. They can be found in any building supermarket, while the boards are already completely ready for assembly - they are pasted over with an edge and sawn into equal parts. We will not specifically write the exact height and width of the shoe rack so that you can create an individual drawing for your home.

The second thing to take care of is metal nets. They are also sold in hardware stores. The standard mesh widths are 46.4 cm, 56.4 cm, 76.4 cm and 86.4 cm, but non-standard ones can also be ordered (this will cost a little more). If you choose shelves with a maximum width of 86.4 cm, then the outer dimensions of the cabinet for 4 shelves will be as follows (HxWxD): 120x 90x 34 cm.The depth of 34 cm is enough to fit size 45 boots there.

An important point: To increase the functionality and compactness of the shelves, place them at an angle towards the inside of the cabinet. So the water will drain in the given direction, and the cabinet will take up a minimum of space.

What parts are needed to assemble a shoe rack:

  • sidewalls 118.4 x 32 cm - 2 PCS(standard furniture board for the manufacture of wardrobes);
  • facades 119.5 x 44.7 cm - 2 PCS(you can buy straight boards from laminated chipboard or curly MDF facades);
  • top cabinet cover 90x 32 cm - 1 PCS;
  • drawers 86.8 x 10 cm - 2 PCS(also sold in furniture stores);
  • back wall 119.5 x 89.5 cm - 1 PCS(it is better to make it from thin and cheap hardboard).

It remains only to buy the necessary fasteners and assemble the shoe cabinet. You don't even have to saw anything - all the finished parts are already on sale!

Hardware and fasteners required for shoe racks:

  • confirmat 5x 70 mm - 8 PCS;
  • metal furniture corner - 8 PCS;
  • self-tapping screws 4x 16;
  • furniture hinges 4-hinge - 4 PCS;
  • dowels and front handles - at your discretion.

To work, you will need the usual tools that every owner will find in the house - a drill, a screwdriver, a hammer.

How to assemble a shoe rack:

  1. With help confirmates pull the drawers to the sides of the future shoe rack. In the sidewalls for confirmations, drill through holes 8 mm in diameter, in the end parts of the sidewalls also make holes with a diameter of 5 mm and a depth of 55 - 60 mm. Drill so that the holes line up clearly.
  2. Screw half the number of corners to the upper roof, and use the remaining 4 instead of the wall fasteners, attaching them to the back of the sidewalls.
  3. Fasten all parts with self-tapping screws. Before fixing the hardboard, check the evenness of the geometry of the box - its diagonals must be equal.
  4. Measure on the vertical sides of the fronts 15 cm at the top and bottom and 2.2 cm in depth. At the marked points, make holes for furniture hinges with a diameter of 3.5 cm.
  5. Install the doors and screw on the handles.
  6. Hang the cabinet 12 to 15 cm from the floor so you can tidy up underneath. The distance between the bottom and the second shelf must be at least 35 cm for the boots to fit.

Helpful Hint: In rainy or snowy weather, place a pallet under the shoe rack to prevent water from flowing onto the floor.

Compact shoe rack

In this chapter, we will describe step by step process creating a very original, miniature and elementary shoe rack. It will fit any interior design, and even children can be involved in the decoration process. Shoes on such a shelf look very neat, and it is simply impossible to create a heap there.

Even those who have never held carpentry tools in their hands can cope with the creation of such a narrow shoe rack. You may not even ask your neighbor for a hacksaw - just draw up a drawing with the right dimensions and ask to saw the boards in the same building store where you bought them! The only thing you can't do without when assembling is a drill.

To build a compact shoe rack, you will need the following tools and materials (we provide dimensions for a design that will suit a bachelor or a young couple):

  • the simplest long stiff-bristled shoe brushes 160 x 40 mm - 3 - 5 PCS(depending on the length of the future shoe rack);
  • moisture resistant plywood 12 mm thick: 1020x 370 mm - 1 PCS(A ); 1020x 90 mm - 1 PCS(V ); 1020x 130 mm - 1 PCS (WITH); 90x 118 mm - 1 PCS(D); 1020x 60 mm - 1 PCS(E);
  • spikes 6 mm - 6 PCS;
  • wood screws;
  • building glue for wood;
  • acrylic paint;
  • moisture resistant transparent varnish;
  • brush;
  • dowels.

You can decorate the shelf not only acrylic paints, even the usual one will do gouache if it is then immediately opened with transparent varnish. If you want to do without varnish, use enamel. And if you like a beautiful wood texture, you can simply cover the shoe rack with clear varnish, slightly tinted with stain.

How to make a shoe rack:

  1. The assembly should begin with the element containing the brushes. Drill 6 through holes in the edge of the plywood.

  2. Insert six spikes, greased with glue, into the holes.

  3. In plywood WITH make exactly the same holes, coat it with glue and connect it to plywood B. It would be best to squeeze these elements with clamps until the glue completely solidifies, or just install some kind of weight on them.

  4. In the same way, glue the sides of element D to the resulting structure. After each glueing, squeeze the parts to be glued tightly.

  5. Using a hacksaw for wood, cut off the handles from the brushes, if any (it is better to immediately buy the cheapest brushes without handles).

  6. Drill 2 through holes in each brush and screw them 1 cm from the edge of the structure with short self-tapping screws so that the caps are on the inside of the brushes.

  7. Drill through holes in the unused parts of elements A and E as shown in the image below.

  8. Using self-tapping screws, connect all parts of the shelf to the end.

  9. Paint the shoe rack in the desired color or paint with different paints. In our case, the result is a solid bright green design, but you can ask the younger family members to participate in the process or paint the plywood yourself. If you don't have the ability for fine arts, you can make decoupage or assemble a mosaic.
  10. It remains only to drill holes in the wall for the dowels and hang the shoe rack.

PVC pipe shoe rack

Finally, we have prepared for you the most unusual and fascinating master class on creating (we will not be afraid of this word) a creative shoe rack in the hallway. With such a design, you can always keep your home clean and tidy, and even children will be happy to put their shoes “in the house”.

What is this wonderful shoe rack made of? You will be surprised, but these are the most common sewer pipes from polyvinyl chloride, which are found in any modern city apartment. They cost much less than high-quality wood or moisture-resistant plywood, while they are distinguished by an almost eternal service life and ease of installation.

For one such shoe rack, you will need one sewer pipe 300 mm in diameter. The standard length of such a product is 3 m. To make a roomy and deep enough compartment for an adult's shoes, 30 cm is quite enough.This means that as many as 10 shelves will turn out from one pipe.

Cutting a PVC pipe is not difficult. To do this, you can use a regular fine-toothed hacksaw. Mark the surface with a marker and divide into 10 equal parts. Every piece of pipe one side sandpaper to smooth sharp edges. The second end will be adjacent to the wall, so grind it not necessary at all.

Since such round posts very much resemble stumps or logs, we decided to arrange them accordingly - by making an imitation of birch bark. Of course, it was possible to draw it, but it is much easier and faster to paste over the pipes with wallpaper with a suitable pattern. You can arrange the shoe rack as you like. For a monochromatic "gray" hallway, shelves of bright saturated colors are suitable; for a modest square, it is better to slightly shade the shoe rack by painting it black or dark brown Colour. Before painting, it is advisable to degrease PVC so that the acrylic or gouache will lay evenly.

It remains only to glue all the pieces with epoxy glue. First, glue 4 pieces horizontally, placing them on flat surface... For a more secure fit, press them together with clothespins or clips, which can be removed after the glue has set.

Glue the next 3 blanks on 4 pipes, and then the rest like a pyramid. In fact, the sequence of gluing and the number of pipes in the rows can be changed at your discretion. Epoxy glue is very durable, and if you glue the pipe well with it, then it will not fall off even at an angle or by weight. So this is a great excuse to dream up.

An alternative way to create a shoe rack with your own hands from PVC pipes in video format:

Shoe rack: photo

There are a lot of shoe racks, but if you don't know what to start from, go to the nearest furniture store and take one of the offered models as a basis. You can turn an ordinary "boring" shelf into a functional shoe rack with a seat, mirror, hanger or additional drawers for brushes and creams. But before you go shopping, we suggest you get inspired by the following photo set:

What a great variety of shoes in shops and markets! The female half cannot resist buying another pair of shoes for a new dress. For men there is a choice of practical shoes and there are many of them too. How many inconveniences are shoes in the hallway? Where to store all this at home?

The solution can be found in a furniture store, namely, buy a shoe rack or do it yourself.

Some have a small apartment and a narrow small hallway, while others have a spacious house. Some live with older children and grandchildren, while others live alone. Hallways, like families, are different, so typical pieces of furniture do not always suit a particular room. A comfortable shoe rack, created with your own hands, will help solve the problem of choice.

With it, your hallway will be transformed into a stylish and comfortable business card at home.

How to choose the right one? First, let's get acquainted with the types of furniture such as a shoe rack.

  1. Shoe wardrobe.

It is very convenient in small rooms, as the doors open and can be combined with the main wardrobe for clothes.

  1. Showcase rack with doors.

It can be placed along the entire wall, the size of the shelves is any, but the disadvantage of such a shoe rack is instability.

  1. Slim-format wardrobe.

Such a cabinet has hinged doors at an angle of 45-90 degrees. And the name speaks for itself. This type of furniture is "thin", the shoes will be located at a slope.

High over-the-knee shoes can deform on such shelves.

  1. Kaloshnitsa.

Suitable more for a balcony. Shoes on such shelves dry quickly, but it is inconvenient to store.

  1. Rack.

It is the simplest design, but unstable and unaesthetic for the hallway.

  1. Cupboard cabinet.

The most common and practical shoe rack.

Advantages:

  • With steadiness;
  • M multifunctionality;
  • Compactness;
  • E aestheticity.

A closed shoe rack is suitable for people with pets. It will help protect your shoes from all kinds of damage from your pets.

For the curbstone, you can make folding, sliding and ordinary doors. So it will take up little space. A shoe rack made of chipboard will be durable and will not fail for a long time.

Wood models are easy to make with your own hands, which saves the family budget.

Shelves and drawers in the closet can be made for any type and size of shoes. And on top there is an opportunity to make a table or upholstery with fabric, a shoe rack with a seat in the hallway will come out.

The seat replaces an ottoman or stool for easy changing.

Types of materials that can be used for shoe racks:

Metal and wood make the cabinet heavier, shoes will not breathe in plastic. MDF is a good choice, but not cheap. Most suitable material for storing shoes- Chipboard. It does not weigh down the shoe rack and is easy to assemble.

Today it is the most demanded material in the shoe furniture segment.

And so, let's dwell on the chipboard cabinet.From the tools we need:

Parts procurement

DIY shoe assembly instructions

Chipboard thickness + Width of the conceived shelf + Half the chipboard thickness.

For example, a part is 12mm, the width of the shelf is 300. It turns out: 12 + 300 + 6 = 318mm.

We do this from the right and left edges. Transfer the drawing directly to the inside of the chipboard and sign each detail where it will be located. Then, when assembling, you will not confuse anything.

When marking the holes in the height and width of the shelves, you need to take into account the rear part, since from this side the entire view of the cabinet is located in the same plane.

  1. Inside, the shelves will be supported by shelf holders. You need to drill holes for them. To calculate correct location of these holes, each thickness of the partition must be subtracted from the height of the rack and divided by the number of shelves.

To the result obtained, add the thickness of the shelf and half the diameter of the shelf holder.

For example, the post height is 600 mm. Two shelves are planned. Shelf thickness 12 mm. Shelf support diameter 5mm.

The calculation procedure will be as follows:

600-12=588

588/2=294

294+12+2=308

Therefore, you will need to measure 308 mm from the top.

After the holes have been drilled, you can put the shelf supports by filling them with glue and hammering them in.

Assembling a shoe rack according to a drawing with your own hands

When all the holes are made, you can start assembling for confirmation. We attach the middle racks to the lower part, then the extreme ones. Make sure that there are no protrusions at the joints of the corners.We attach the covers to the corners, put the shelves on the holders and install the finished boxes on the guides.

We attach furniture handles to the doors in any position. They can also be attached to awnings, or you can install sliding ones.

Decorating a do-it-yourself shoe rack can be varied.

Hand-made furniture always distinguishes the interior from other apartments, where there are typical dressers and wardrobes.

VIDEO: DIY shoe cabinet.

Shoes are a passion of many women. How many pairs of shoes do you need for different occasions? Shoes for a business meeting, comfortable boots for walking, soft slippers. What then to say when it comes to a family where everyone needs boots or sneakers. Therefore, everyone faces the problem of storing it.

It is often difficult to install a spacious shelf in a small hallway. Shelves and cabinets just don't fit your size. narrow hallway.

In this case, you need to contact a custom-made furniture workshop. Moreover, such services are more expensive than standard solutions for factory production.

But you can solve the issue differently. Make a wardrobe with your own hands.

Shelves

The materials for making the curbstone can be chipboard and MDF boards, as well as plywood and natural wood.

It should be borne in mind that plywood and wood cost significantly more expensive than slabs Chipboard. But furniture made from these materials has greater strength and, in comparison with chipboard, tolerates a humid environment better.

Chipboard and MDF boards, unlike wood, do not require additional processing.

The compressed structure of MDF makes the material quite durable. It is quite easy to work with this material. Also consider its weight. We recommend using MDF only as a facade.

Chipboards have a wide range of colors. Therefore, it will be quite easy to fit the curbstone into the interior of the hallway.

As an additional decoration, you can order milling on the plate. This will make her unique.

Do-it-yourself curbstone

Boot box for sneakers, sandals and boots and folding drawers.

In this article, we will look at the process of making a cabinet, the frame of which is made of 16 mm chipboard. Partitions are made made of chipboard 10 mm.

Let's play with a two-color layout. From dark alder we will make the sidewalls, roof, internal upright and bottom, and from light alder - the facades.

You can give your drawings and they will cut out the chipboard slabs in a store with special equipment. It is also possible to include in the order the gluing of the edging tape.

But if you are on a limited budget or want to train your skills, then you can do it yourself at home. But it must be borne in mind that without a specialized tool and certain skills, it will not be easy to avoid chips.

How to glue the edge yourself?

The edge happens paper and plastic.

To glue the edge at home, you need:

  1. Apply special glue to the edge.
  2. Heat the iron to maximum temperature.
  3. Across thick fabric press the edge with slight pressure.
  4. Remove glue residues.
