After what period of time to spray trees. Processing garden trees in spring

On his summer cottage at the end of spring, on my favorite varieties of apple trees, I noticed an apple blossom beetle. Since it is not recommended to process the trees during the flowering period, I waited for the last bud to fade.

I waited another two weeks, then I processed not only the apple tree, but also others fruit trees the drug "Decis". Two weeks later, the number of the flower beetle sharply decreased, and later they completely disappeared.

Thus, I was able to save my future harvest. In this article I will list for you folk remedies and chemicals that can be used to save fruit trees from insect pests after flowering.

Fruit trees during flowering and fruiting are not recommended to be sprayed. Therefore, treatment against insect pests and fungal diseases is carried out in early spring or after flowering has ended. The final stage is usually carried out in the fall during the preparation of plants for winter.

A dry and calm day is chosen for this procedure. It is best done in the evening, as most of the insect pests begin to crawl out of the cracks at this time. But you can also process it early in the morning. And it would be nice to see the weather forecast, if rainy days are coming soon.

Otherwise, the procedure will have to be repeated after rain. But there are chemicals that work better when the air is humid. Therefore, you should first read the instructions for the drug.

For a tree taller than two meters, about six liters of solution is usually dissolved for spraying, and for short shrubs and trees, about two liters is enough, even less. But in the second case, they look at the density of their crown.

If you don't want to spend money on a modern sprayer, you can spray with a broom, which is dipped into a bucket of solution each time.

And so in specialized stores you can buy any sprayer from the cheapest to the most expensive, depending on their composition and power. To handle a large number of trees, it is better to purchase an electric pump.

In order for your favorite fruit varieties to attack insect pests and diseases as little as possible, it is advisable to choose hybrid seedlings for planting from the very beginning, with high resistance to different diseases and pests.

Safety engineering

When working with chemicals, it is undesirable to neglect safety precautions, otherwise you can get poisoned or get a skin burn:

  • First, they make sure that there are no children and animals in the garden during the procedure.
  • Before work, be sure to wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, a mask or respirator, glasses, and a scarf. Make sure that there is not a single open area of skin left on the body. Since it is not known how the human body will react if a few drops of a chemical preparation get on it.
  • When buying in a specialized store, be sure to study the instructions for the drug, its composition, pay attention to the expiration date.
  • In the evening, it is not recommended to spray nitrogen-containing substances on the plants; it is better to do this in the morning.
  • It should be remembered that it is advisable to spray the garden with chemistry as rarely as possible throughout the season. Ideally, it is used once or twice a season.
  • After processing, be sure to write down in a notebook what date the procedure was performed, the name of the drug or a folk recipe, a list of treated trees and shrubs.
  • During work, it is recommended to regularly stir or shake the solution.
  • In order for the substance to fall on the leaves with fine dew, during operation, the tip of the apparatus is kept away from the branches.
  • After finishing work, it is imperative to wash your face and hands with ordinary soap, despite the fact that they were covered with protective clothing and a mask. It is also recommended to rinse your mouth with boiled water, rinse your nose.

Folk recipes

Because of fruit plants after flowering with chemical solutions, it is recommended to process it very carefully, so as not to damage the future harvest, many gardeners choose exactly folk recipes, which not only rid trees of insect pests, but also do not cause any harm to plants and humans.

  • Walnut Leaves - They are harvested in early fall, so the concentrate is prepared almost immediately and stored until summer. To do this, fill the bucket with leaves by two-thirds, pour boiling water over it. Close the lid tightly and put in a cool place until spring. And in the spring, before spraying, a liter of nut tincture is diluted in a ten-liter bucket of liquid. This procedure does not cause any harm to the fruit, so it can be repeated every ten days until the pests are completely gone.
  • Tomato tops - By the time the fruit flowering ends, the tomatoes are already growing enough that you can cut off unnecessary leaves from them for future decoction. With its help, you can get rid of aphids and their larvae. About four kilograms of leaves are thrown into an enameled ten-liter bucket, poured to the top with water and put on fire for half an hour. The cooled tincture is diluted with five liters of cool liquid, a little grated soap is added. Then, if necessary, they are thoroughly sprayed with the entire crown.
  • Bitter wormwood - With its help, you can easily destroy such pests as: aphids, ticks, moth caterpillars, weevils, sawflies. About a kilogram of leaves are thrown into an enameled container, 5 liters are added hot water... Leave alone for two days. After which the container is put on fire, boiled for half an hour. After the tincture has cooled, it is filtered and diluted with ten liters of water. Plants are treated with them twice with an interval of a week.
  • Hot Pepper - It can be used to get rid of slugs, caterpillars, copperheads. The tincture is started ten days before spraying. About a kilogram of pepper pods are crushed, poured to the brim hot water and put in a dark and cool place for ten days. Before processing, 150 ml of pepper tincture is diluted in 10 liters of liquid.
  • Tansy - It relieves plants of many types of insect pests. To do this, 700 grams of tansy powder is diluted in a ten-liter bucket of hot water. Insist for about two days. Then they boil again for about 15 minutes, filter. Before spraying, a liter of tincture should be diluted with a liter of water. This tool can be used an unlimited number of times.
  • Tobacco dust - The most effective method in pest control. A glass of tobacco dust is stirred in two liters of water. Cook for about half an hour over low heat, without bringing to a boil. Leave to infuse for a day, then dilute with six liters of water before spraying. In order for it to better adhere to the branches and leaves of the plant, a little soap is diluted in the broth.

Chemicals

They are used only if the folk recipes did not work. And it is worth remembering that they are not treated with them during flowering and fruiting. And if you had to process it during fruiting, then in this case the crop is removed only a month after the last procedure.

The following products can not only completely destroy many insect pests, but also protect trees from fungal and viral diseases. They can be processed only two to three weeks after the last petal of the inflorescence flies off.

  • Bordeaux liquid - With it, you can quickly get rid of ticks, moths, cure the plant from many fungal and viral diseases. But this drug is treated strictly two weeks after the last petal has flown off, or even better, before flowering begins. In any case, the solution must be very weak. In a plastic bucket with liquid, 50 grams of copper sulfate and 200 grams of lime are diluted. The container should not be iron. Processing is carried out immediately after stirring. It is not recommended to store this product diluted for a long time.
  • Urea - Trees are treated with it not only for medicinal purposes, but also for preventive purposes, since it relieves fruit well of all larvae, aphids, flower beetles, leaf rollers. The solution for processing dead trees should be very weak. In one bucket of liquid, 50 grams of urea is diluted. For an enhanced effect, you can add 10 grams of copper sulfate. You can water not only the branches, but also the earth, thereby fertilizing it.
  • Karbofos - This insecticide in a short time will destroy the leafworm, aphids, ticks, moths. To do this, dilute 3 grams of karbofos in a five-liter container. For an adult tree, 8 liters of solution is enough, and the shrub will need even less - 3 liters.
  • Chlorophos - A very poisonous agent that instantly relieves the plant of all types of ticks and beetles. In a five-liter jar of water, 35 grams of chlorophos are diluted. In this case, the gardener needs to be careful with this chemical.
  • Benzophosphate - It relieves fruit not only from insect pests, but also rodent mammals. The proportions for the solution are the same as for chlorophos.
  • Fungicide "Skor" - Considered the least toxic and effective remedy... Protects plants from aphids, moths, moths, sawflies, ticks, cherry flies, leaf rollers and fungal diseases. Suitable for all fruit and berry plants.

Any summer resident wants to always see his garden as the most beautiful and healthy. There are many ways to do this, but the most basic is spring spraying. Understand how to protect trees from pests and help them thrive in the new summer cottage season.

When to spray trees in spring

The most important question in spraying fruit trees in spring is the right time for this. The first stages of preparation for the summer season begin in March, however, fruit processing should be started only when the average daily temperature stabilizes at around +5 degrees. Often such forecasts occur in the second half of March, so it is better to take your time and wait for suitable / weather conditions so as not to harm your garden.

Spring treatment of the garden from pests and diseases includes examining trees for the presence of deep cracks in which pests could have started. It is advisable to go over the entire trunk with a brush to clean it of old bark, remove dried-up branches, in general, bring the tree into a well-groomed look. It is necessary to prepare the spray solution only on the day of the procedure, otherwise there will be no benefit from your labor.

A common question is: can trees be sprayed during flowering? The answer is unequivocal - no, otherwise you can destroy all the flowers. In general, there are several types of spraying in the spring:

  1. March- is aimed at protecting plums, pears, apple trees from harmful microorganisms formed during the winter. It is produced exclusively at an average daily temperature of +5 degrees.
  2. April- protects the buds of fruit trees from spring frosts, prolonging the hibernation stage of the tree. Blooming occurs a little later, but this does not in any way affect the further fertility of the plant.
  3. Mayskoe- after flowering, it is necessary to protect against pests and diseases. So you will protect the garden from a variety of bacteria, which during the summer can spoil not only appearance bark, but also the fertility of the tree.

How to treat the garden in spring from diseases and pests

There are several preparations for spraying fruit trees in spring. Each is aimed at fighting certain harmful factors... Knowing their effect and methods of treatment, you can determine when or which drug should be used at the moment. Remember that they are all potent poisonous substances, so it is very important to take care of your own and others' safety.

Preparations for the treatment of fertile trees are subdivided into biological, chemical or combined agents. Each has advantages and disadvantages. So, poisonous chemical solutions last only a few weeks, and then completely lose their properties. Biological agents are not as dangerous to humans or animals, but they must also be handled carefully. Their disadvantage is that they act only on a number of certain diseases and bacteria of fruit and shrubs, while chemical preparations literally kill all pests.

If you do not know how to spray trees in the spring before bud break, then the most popular spraying agents among summer residents are still combined preparations, which are very effective, do not require a large number of spraying during the whole summer season... To understand which remedy is best suited only for you, you need to know the action of each, and only then choose perfect option for yourself and your garden.

Nitrofen for garden spraying

Nitrofen is a very powerful remedy. Substances destroy larvae or laid eggs of pests within winter period... With this tool, you need to process trees that are in the wintering stage, that is, just in mid-March. You can not use Nitrofen on trees that have already awakened, which are beginning to dissolve foliage. The poisonous substance can burn buds and foliage, which leads to the death of the tree.

The processing of fruit trees in spring with Nitrofen is very effective in the fight against moss, lichen, gets rid of spots, aphids, various caterpillars, ticks and leaf rollers. It is necessary to use the product exactly following the instructions. Do not forget about self-protection: gloves, clothing, and waterproof shoes. Try to keep children and animals away from the tree processing area.

Processing trees in spring with copper sulfate

Another remedy suitable for protecting trees in early spring is copper sulfate. This solution will be especially useful for fruit-bearing trees if cracks or wounds have formed on them, which require mandatory care in the form of disinfection. You can also use vitriol at the close of the season - in October after the entire harvest has been collected.

An important point in the use of this tool is the temperature at which processing is possible: from +5 to +30 degrees. You can not process fruit trees on which buds have appeared, and even more so leaves have blossomed. Better conditions- a calm day. This will protect other plants from getting the chemical on the leaves (if they have already appeared), and will not harm you or the animals. Spray copper sulfate, like any other protective agent for fruit and shrubs, should be away from reservoirs with drinking water.

Processing trees with iron sulfate in spring

Iron vitriol makes up for the lack of iron sulfate in shrubs: currants, raspberries, roses or some vegetable crops. It is necessary to spray fruit trees in the spring before the growing season, otherwise you will greatly harm the leaves, and subsequently the fruits (or rose flowers). Very important information: the dosage of ferrous sulfate is 50 g per 10 liters of water. For some reason, the manufacturers of the product rarely indicate this information on the packaging, so summer residents often look for help in various sources, which are not always reliable.

Spraying with urea

An excellent protector against pests, scab, fungal diseases is carbamide, or in other words urea. In addition, this product is a nitrogen fertilizer for the land. Treatment of apple trees in spring with urea prolongs the tree's hibernation, so the appearance of flowers and buds occurs much later. This protects them from death during spring frosts, which appear suddenly and rarely any of the summer residents can guess in advance when this will happen.

Like other early spring sprayers, urea is used at temperatures no lower than +5. It should stabilize, that is, day and night, the thermometer must be no less than this indicator. Spraying fruit trees in spring with carbamide protects them from pests that have laid their larvae in winter: honeydew, aphids, weevils. To dilute the drug, you will need:

  • urea - 700 g;
  • copper sulfate - 50 g;
  • water - 10 liters.

One of the main requirements for caring for fruit plantations is seasonal processing. This treatment is done by any summer resident who is eager to grow a beautiful garden with a significant number of yields. Spraying trees in spring the necessary drugs will allow you to protect the garden from the scourge of pests and pathogenic microorganisms.

The main task of such treatment is to prevent the appearance of butterflies, aphids, caterpillars and all kinds of beetles, and also, to minimize the possibility of infectious, viral and fungal diseases.

  • For example, aphids cause significant damage to fruit trees such as pear, plum, apple, apricot and cherry plum. This pest infects the bark of a tree, forming nodules on its surface, which crack over time, turning into sores. Aphids infect the leaves of trees, which first curl up and then dry up. The affected areas stop growing over time and dry out.
  • The main enemy of plums, cherries and cherries is the May beetle, more precisely, its larvae, which live in the ground for three years. This pest can destroy entire orchards of young trees, destroying their root system. The age of adult beetles occurs in May, and they also destroy young leaves and fruit ovaries. Spraying trees in spring makes their leaves unattractive to beetles.
  • Flower-eating beetles are found everywhere. With the warmth, the weevils crawl out of the soil, where they hibernated, and go to the opening flowers, at which the stamens and pistils dine. Measures to combat them - in late autumn, dig up the trunk circles (or cover them with a thick layer of hay, sawdust, straw, through which the beetles will not get out).
  • Sawflies and moths. These terrible insects can make the entire harvest of plums, peaches, apples, pears, nectarines simply inedible. Control methods - only one spraying.

Chemical processing of the ground part of fruit trees allows you to preserve not only foliage, but also ripe fruits, which means you get a tasty and healthy harvest.

Irrigation of the orchard with chemicals must be carried out on time. Untimely and incorrect processing of plants will not give any effect.

When and how many times to spray?

Spraying of fruit trees is done more than once, from early spring to late autumn. Gardeners, taking into account their colossal experience, made out a special schedule for the irrigation of the orchard. It describes in detail what and when to irrigate trees throughout the season.

The first spraying of fruit trees from pests is done in early spring. Many novice gardeners are wondering at what weather conditions you can carry out this procedure. So, experts advise to do the first spraying immediately after the snow melts, at a temperature of about 5-6 degrees Celsius.

The processing of fruit trees is usually carried out in the second half of March. It is at this time that the process of enlarging buds begins in plants. During spraying, as well as in the process of pruning trees, the gardener must pay special attention to cracks that may contain harmful insects. Before you spray trees, you need to prepare them for this. The trees are carefully cleaned with a brush, then a freshly prepared solution is applied. The solution is applied on the day it is prepared, otherwise it will become useless. It will not remove pests, but trees can get severe burns.

The cultivation of the garden in March is aimed at combating insects that infect trees, getting out of the soil.

The next spraying takes place in April. The purpose of this spraying is to protect the flower buds on the trees from various fungal diseases and the deer beetle.

May processing is carried out in order to prevent the appearance of harmful insects and diseases. This procedure is carried out after the trees have bloomed.

The processing of the garden does not end there; with the onset of autumn, its additional spraying follows. This is a kind of preparation of fruit trees for winter. As soon as the trees lose their foliage, in October-November, it is time to start processing them. In this case, it is advised to use chemicals. If, nevertheless, spraying will be carried out without their use, then the first autumn treatment can be carried out immediately after harvesting - in September.

How to prepare trees for spraying?

Trees from 6 years old are cleaned of old bark and lichens with a brush. Growths and other accumulations on the trunk of trees do not in any way affect their general condition. But it is worth noting that it is in these places that pathogens most often like to gather. Spraying is carried out immediately after cleaning.

The final processing of fruit plantations, as well as shrubs, is carried out after harvest and foliage. The site is completely cleared of weeds and leaves. The latest spraying of the garden is carried out after the first frost.

What and from what diseases to spray trees in the spring?

There are several effective preparations that gardeners use when processing fruit trees and shrubs. Today there are a lot of substances for spring and autumn processing of fruit orchards. The most popular remedies used by many gardeners over the years are:

  • Urea or urea.

It is impossible to give preference to any one of the above-mentioned means, because each of them is aimed at eliminating a certain disease or pest. One drug can be used only in the spring, the other - in the fall. Experienced gardeners advise stopping chemical spraying of fruit trees and shrubs 3-4 weeks before harvest.

The garden is treated with iron vitriol twice in the entire season. The first spraying is carried out during the period of foliage formation, and the second - when the trees are preparing for wintering. This drug has a double effect. It enriches shrubs and trees with iron, and is also an effective protection against all kinds of pests and diseases. The lack of iron in fruit trees is expressed trite - low yield and underdevelopment of fruits. Spraying with vitriol based on iron of fruit plantations is carried out not only in spring, but also in autumn, for preventive purposes, as well as for the extermination of lichens, moss, cytosporosis, black cancer and septosporosis.

The garden is treated with copper sulfate according to the same scheme as in the previous preparation - twice a season. The first treatment is carried out in early spring, even before the appearance of young buds. This substance must be handled with care, since even the weakest concentration of copper sulfate can burn young foliage on trees. It is an excellent disinfectant that heals wounds on the trunk of trees and shrubs. Trees such as pear, plum and apple trees are sprayed with this fungicide in both autumn and spring. Copper sulfate protects orchards from moniliosis, scab, clotterosporosis and curliness.

For one young tree, up to 6 years old, add 2 liters of freshly prepared solution. For adult specimens, 10 liters of liquid are used. Garden processing is carried out in the morning or in the evening, when there is no wind, at a temperature of 10 to 25 degrees. On hot days, it is advised to refrain from treatment with this drug, since it is quite aggressive and can harm both animals and people. The solution is prepared in a place remote from water bodies.

No less effective drug from pests is considered urea (urea). The first care of orchards in early spring begins with spraying them with this particular preparation. This procedure is carried out immediately after flowering. The second spraying with this substance is carried out before wintering. Urea is intended to save the crop from the invasion of various pests. A properly made solution allows you to achieve the desired effect.

At the first spraying, urea of increased concentration is used with the addition of a small dose of copper sulfate. Such a remedy is effective not only against a variety of pests, but also allows you to slow down the growing season in some fruit trees by 2-3 weeks. This allows you to preserve the color on the trees during the last frost.

7 days after flowering, fruit plantations are sprayed with a weaker urea solution: 50 g of the substance is diluted with a bucket of water. This protects the trees from leafworms, aphids, caterpillars, honeydew and flower beetle.

The second treatment is carried out in the fall, when the trees are half leafless. In this case, a solution of increased concentration is used. Spraying is also carried out after the foliage has completely fallen off. In this case, spraying is performed with a urea solution with an 8-10% concentration. Not only trees are subject to this treatment, but also the soil around them. This is a double-acting substance - it disinfects plantings, and also nourishes the soil. It is extremely important to choose the right concentration so as not to harm the trees and not reduce their resistance to cold.

Just like other drugs, it is used twice - in the fall and spring. This petroleum product must be used with extreme caution, as it can burn trees and shrubs, causing them to die. Therefore, spraying with diesel fuel is carried out strictly before the formation of buds and leaves on trees in the spring. The second spraying is carried out only after the trees have completely lost their foliage.

It is strictly forbidden to use this substance in its pure form. It is diluted with water or other liquid, thereby reducing concentration and destructive effect. A diluted solution of diesel fuel is extremely effective in combating rot.

It is used in early spring and late autumn. The finished solution consists of 200 g of the substance, diluted with 1 bucket of water. Treatment with this drug destroys many pests that have remained on the trunk and branches since autumn. This can be a false shield, aphid, whitefly, worm, leafworm and moth, etc. The drug 30B is often used in the fight against insects in summer. This substance has been found to be harmless. When applied, it forms a thin film on the canopy of trees, which prevents the ingress of oxygen and moisture to pests in the egg and larval stage. Such conditions ultimately lead to the death of insects.

Despite the safety of this drug, experienced gardeners it is used no more than once every three years.

To date, there are two types of devices for spraying orchards - manual or mechanical. it necessary thing for the correct and effective procedure. It improves spray quality and protects the grower from chemical contact. Each device is equipped with a pump. For work with preparations in powder form, there are devices with air supply.

Mechanically operated devices are characterized by convenience and high cost. The pumping principle of manual and mechanical devices is also different. Each model has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, here you should already proceed from the needs and opportunities when buying this thing.

We wish you success and good harvests!

It is at this time that work can be done to preserve the harvest and increase it. How to treat trees and shrubs in early spring? Every gardener asks himself this question. Everyone wants the work not to be in vain, but to become a reward good harvest fruits and berries. Therefore, a number of measures should be carried out, the purpose of which is to protect the garden plantings.

The benefits of spraying

If you do not spray trees and shrubs, then soon the garden will be affected by diseases and pests. This reduces the yield, slows down the appearance of fruits and berries. Before treating trees and shrubs in early spring, you need to decide on the methods of this event. Spraying is carried out several times per season. It helps to get rid of caterpillars, aphids, flower beetles, silkworms, powdery mildew, scab and other diseases and pests. Handle everything and

Spraying time

Orchard plantings are usually cultivated three times during the spring and summer. The solution lasts for about two weeks. This should be the minimum break between spraying. Processing should be stopped 2-3 weeks before harvesting. It is generally not advisable to use chemicals after the ovary has developed. Therefore, before treating trees and shrubs in early spring from diseases and pests, carefully read the instructions for the preparation. Shrubs are sprayed much less frequently. When berries appear on them, the processing can be stopped altogether. For this procedure, it is better to choose dry and calm weather.

Spraying stages

The first stage of processing occurs in the earliest spring. At this time, pests that have successfully transferred cold period... This is followed by the time of the second treatment. It is carried out after the appearance of the leaves. Thus, gardeners get rid of the awakening insects. At the same time, the prevention of various diseases that affect garden plantings is carried out. The third time the plants are sprayed after flowering. At this point, you can neutralize spider mite and moth.

Preparatory work

Before treating trees and shrubs in early spring, it is necessary to carry out some preparatory work... First, you need to bypass your property and remove old fruits and existing pest nests. Old tree branches should be cut off. They are the ones good place for wintering and breeding of pests and diseases. We carry the branches outside the garden and burn them. A hot shower is used for shrubs. To do this, the water is heated to 70 degrees and poured onto the plants. This method helps to get rid of many pests and their larvae that hibernate on shrubs. This procedure must be carried out before the juices begin to move, so as not to harm the plants. How to treat trees and shrubs in early spring without chemicals? Many experienced gardeners advise to spray garden plantings with a solution.This is about 150 grams of salt per 10 liters of water. A few days before the first spraying, trees and shrubs should be dug in. We also cut off unnecessary shoots and branches.

First processing period

How to treat trees and shrubs in early spring from pests? The first treatment is carried out in order to prevent the formation of scab. Even before the buds swell, trees are treated with the preparations Fundazol or Skvor. There are many other products with a similar composition. Before the procedure, the crown is thinned out and the trunk is covered with a layer of lime. When the buds begin to swell, another treatment is carried out, which disinfects the tree from the gall mite. For this, you can use the drug "Neoron". Among the more safe means urea solution can be isolated. 500 grams of the product is dissolved in 10 liters of water. This solution also has a beneficial effect on the quality of the soil, spreading throughout the season.

We continue early processing

Before treating trees and shrubs in early spring, you should carefully examine them for a hazard. Many drugs have a specific effect on a specific pest or disease. Therefore, it will be more expedient to use exactly the necessary components. When the first leaves begin to bloom, you need to carry out prophylaxis against caterpillars that damage the leaves of plants. For this, the drugs "Kinmix" and "Fury" are used. For powdery mildew (and also as a repeated prophylaxis of scab), you can use "Fundazol" and "Skvor".

We fight the weeds

As you know, weeds are not good neighbors for them. We must constantly fight them, preventing their growth and flowering. Good remedy for this is "Roundup" or similar drugs. Processing must be carried out with extreme caution. The trunk of a tree or shrub must be covered with any material that will prevent the ingress of a poisonous substance on a cultivated plant. Roundup is then sprayed onto the weeds. The protection can be removed from the tree after a day. Remember that weeds are the best breeding ground for pests.

Final stage

The final processing of shrubs and trees is carried out after flowering. But this does not mean that the fight against pests and diseases is over. These are the main points of spraying, but it is advisable to carry out the procedure much more often. After flowering, the moth, aphid and leafworm are activated. Here, the drug "Fury" is considered an excellent remedy for treatment. Spraying is best done twice, with an interval of 20 days. Additionally, you can use the preparations "Skvor" or "Fundazol". If a tree trunk is damaged by black crayfish, then it must be treated with a 1% solution and covered with garden varnish. Further processing of trees is carried out as needed or for prevention, but at an interval of two weeks. For small rodents, you can use the drug "Zernocin-U".

Shrub processing

Spraying shrubs has its own characteristics. It is carried out much less frequently. Almost the same preparations are used for processing as for spraying trees. From powdery mildew, gray rot and fusarial wilting, you can take "Fundazol". It also works well against fungi on gooseberries and raspberries. Before the buds appear, the shrubs are treated with Topaz. This remedy will help get rid of a special type of powdery mildew. During the swelling of the buds, "Klinmixol" and "Phosbecid" are used, which prevent the appearance of leaf rollers, sawflies and gall midges. After the appearance of the ovary, re-treatment with "Topaz" is carried out. For slugs, you can use "Metaldehyde" granules, which are scattered between plantings.

Processing berry bushes it is better to finish during the ripening period or a month before harvesting. After harvesting, the plants should be treated again with any remedy for pests and diseases.

Folk remedies

There are many tools that gardeners have come up with and tested in action. Folk processing methods are distinguished by their minimal harmfulness to the future harvest. But the effect of their use is not so small. Tomato leaves, namely their infusion, help well in the fight against caterpillars and leafworms. Two kilograms of foliage are poured with 5 liters of hot water. After 5 hours, the infusion is boiled and filtered. After that, the product is ready for use. The spraying procedure must be repeated after a week.

Many gardeners are wondering: how to treat trees and shrubs in early spring from aphids? Along with mites, it is a very common pest. To combat them, use a decoction with potato leaves. For this, part of the tops is mixed with two parts of water. After 5 hours, place the mixture in a water bath for 40 minutes. Then the broth is filtered and cooled.

Bordeaux liquid is what treating trees and shrubs in early spring before flowering will be just as effective. This is the most popular and proven method of fighting. It can also be used in subsequent spraying periods.

Very often, mosses and lichens form on the bark of trees. It is an excellent breeding ground for pests and diseases. Many novice gardeners are interested in how to treat trees and shrubs in early spring from moss? It is simply removed from the surface of the bark with burlap or other hard material. Do this before spraying so that the surface of the trunk is completely processed. Further appearance of moss must be controlled.

After completing the whole complex of processing, you can extend the life of trees and shrubs and achieve a good harvest.

Autumn is a very hot season for gardeners. And although the harvest is almost already harvested, many other work still needs to be done. And today we will talk about the autumn care of fruit trees.

Autumn care

So, the processing of trees in the fall. What does it include? The list of agrotechnical measures is quite extensive, so we will consider each item separately.

Pruning

Processing in the fall always begins with pruning. It is she who is the main and most accessible method of regulating the yield of a tree. It is carried out both in autumn and spring. At the end of summer, it is necessary to carry out the so-called preventive pruning. You need to carefully examine the trees and cut out the weak, as well as the shoots growing inside the crown. For the next season, there will be very little use from them, and the only thing they can be useful with is they will give small, low-quality fruits. Dry and broken branches will interfere with the tree.

Processing trees in the fall: removing tops

Sometimes, after a complete pruning, nature again pleases us with warmth and sunshine, and the "sleeping" trees come to life again. Therefore, be prepared for the appearance of a large number of tops.

This is the name of young shoots growing vertically upwards. They emerge from and begin to grow very actively, sometimes reaching a height of two meters. These are fattening shoots that take away strength from the tree, but at the same time never bear fruit and only thicken its crown. Therefore, you must immediately get rid of them.

You can remove such shoots by breaking them off with your hands or cutting them out with a garden pruner. In any case, the tree leaves a wound that must be treated with garden varnish.

Spraying

Spraying trees in the fall will help prevent insect infestations in the spring and will also help you get a richer crop. Immediately after the entire harvest has been removed, the trees must be treated with a urea solution. To do this, you need to dilute 500 grams of fertilizer in 10 liters of water and carefully process the entire tree, including the trunk. This procedure will save vegetation from scab.

It will be nice to spray the trees with a solution of the solution, you can do it yourself. To do this, you will need:

  • copper sulfate - 300 grams;
  • water (warm) - 3 liters;
  • lime - 400 grams;
  • water - 10 liters.

First, dilute the copper sulfate with warm water. Then pour lime into a bucket of water and, with constant stirring, pour in a solution of copper sulfate. Spraying with Bordeaux liquid must be carried out in late October or early November. Choose a dry and calm day.

Such spraying will help the trees get rid of many diseases:

  • gray rot;
  • scab;
  • purple spot;
  • coccomycosis, etc.

Such spraying of trees in the fall allows you to process the entire garden without harming other plants and beneficial insects.

Trees processing: bark

Treating trees in the fall includes protecting the bark. In spring, one can often observe quite deep vertical cracks on tree trunks. They arise due to sharp changes temperatures in winter days, when the sun heats up the bark during the day, and it cools down sharply at night. This is what causes cracking.

Pests hibernating under the bark can cause similar harm. Therefore, be sure to clean the tree trunk from mosses and lichens. The bark lagging behind the trunk must be removed. This will help to destroy the female spider mites, who are preparing for wintering, pathogens of many diseases: rust, powdery mildew, kidney moths, etc. Be sure to burn all the trapping belts installed on the tree trunks.

The barrel must be whitewashed and then wrapped in a protective cloth. It can be any material. Ordinary rags are also suitable, because the main goal is to protect from direct sunlight.

Whitewashing the trunk

Processing the trunks of fruit trees in the fall consists primarily of whitewashing. It will help protect trees from possible damage due to sudden temperature fluctuations, sunburn and slows down bud opening.

To protect the tree from sunburn, the whitewash must be applied at a height of at least two meters. Don't forget about handling skeletal branches.

Choose dry and calm weather for your event. Whitewashing is carried out after the complete completion of the leaf fall.

How to whiten?

If possible, it is better to purchase a ready-made solution of water-dispersion paint. You can use it when the air temperature has dropped below three degrees of frost. The good thing about the paint is that it does not interfere with the breathing of the tree, but it also does not transmit ultraviolet radiation.

If you can't buy a ready-made solution, then you should prepare it yourself. The role of the bonding agent can be played by the busylate, since when it dries it forms a thin air-permeable layer and does not dissolve under the influence of water. In this case, the whitewash will not be washed away by the rains, and the tree will winter well. It is better to avoid using clay or mullein, as they are very unstable and will be washed away immediately by rain.

The role of white pigment is perfectly performed by ordinary chalk. To get a good quality mortar, you need two parts of the bonding agent and part of the pigment. First, they are thoroughly mixed with each other, and only then you can add water to them. The consistency of the solution should resemble paint.

The whitewashing of the trunk can be done using the usual. To prepare a whitewash mixture, you will need:

  • slaked lime - 3 kilograms;
  • casein glue - 80 grams;
  • copper sulfate (diluted) - 450 grams;
  • water.

Combine all components carefully, and then dilute little by little with water. The finished solution should resemble a good thick sour cream.

Top dressing

The processing of fruit trees in the fall involves the compulsory application of fertilizers. However, now it is worth giving up nitrogen fertilizing. At this time, the following compositions are suitable:

  • superphosphate (double is best);
  • monopotassium phosphate;
  • and chloride);
  • humus.

By the way, it is humus that can give the tree all the substances it needs. Mineral fertilizers able to worsen the microflora of the roots, while there is no humus. It is introduced during the autumn digging of the root circles of trees.

That's all. Carrying out all of the above activities is the processing of trees in the fall.
