Dressing table for dolls

Dolls love to preen themselves, so they simply cannot do without a table with a mirror! To make such a table, prepare:

Stages of making a table:

  1. Determine the height of the table by measuring the doll in a sitting position. For example, for a Barbie doll, its height will be approximately 8-9 centimeters.
  2. Cut the box and glue it over with colored paper. Using a marker or gel pen, draw out some sketchy doors and glue small beads that will simulate handles.
  3. Do not throw away the rest of the box, but cut an oval or rectangular piece out of it for a future mirror. Cut out a piece of foil that suits the size, stick it on a blank for a mirror. It can be glued with colored paper around the perimeter.
  4. Coat the base of the mirror with glue and attach to the table blank, going to its back.

The hair dye box will become the base of the dressing table.

Dresser for dolls

Storing clothes requires dressers with drawers in the room. To make a doll's chest of drawers you will need:

  • match boxes;
  • matches;
  • thick napkins with patterns.

Stages of making a dressing table:

  1. Take three matchboxes and glue them together by placing one box on top of the other.
  2. Cut out pieces from thick napkins to glue the boxes around the perimeter. It is not necessary to glue the napkins on the back of the napkin so that the boxes can be pulled out by pressing on them with your finger.
  3. Take out the drawers and stick the napkin pieces on the front.
  4. Cut the matches into small sticks (discard the gray heads) and glue the sticks onto the boxes to create an imitation of handles.

Matchboxes are a great material for making a chest of drawers.

  5. Cut the head of the bed out of cardboard, paste over with white paper and glue it to the bed. Decorate the headboard with rhinestones, beads or decorative cord.
  6. Cut one rectangle from the scraps of fabric to fit the size of the bed - this will be a sheet.
  7. Cut out two rectangles for the duvet in the duvet cover (leave 0.5 cm for the seams). Sew the fabric inside out, turn it out. Use sharp scissors to make a diamond-shaped hole in the center.
  8. Cut a blanket out of a household napkin and tuck it into the duvet cover. Sew the bottom of the duvet cover with a blind stitch.

  3. Cover the box with colored paper (the inside does not need to be pasted over).
  4. Cut a piece of thick sponge or several rectangular pieces of foam rubber to the dimensions of the box. Place them inside the box to make a mattress.

  2. Cut the rounded back from a piece of heavy cardboard. Stick on the foam, leaving a small gap to connect to the seat. The foam must be covered with a cloth.
  3. Glue the seat and backrest together.
  4. Cut out the part necessary for making the side rollers from the thread tubes. Cover the armrests with a cloth. Glue the rollers to the seat of the chair.

  • pencil;
  • ruler;
  • varnish or acrylic paint;
  • pieces of fabric;
  • cotton wool.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. We decide on the design and size of the future sofa. We make drawings for the back, seat, side backs on cardboard. We take into account that with the help of the back and side backs, the sofa will gain stability.
  2. Cut out.
  3. We apply the resulting templates to a sheet of plywood and circle them.
  4. Using a jigsaw, we cut out the details of the sofa.

Chairs can be made in the same way.

You can see how to make a sofa for a doll with your own hands in the next video - a master class.

Floor lamp

For manufacturing you will need:

  • thick cardboard;
  • glue;
  • pencil;
  • lace strips;
  • an empty helium pen refill;
  • thin wire;
  • a small lid in diameter (lids from jars of medicine, from ketchup are suitable)

We draw a blank of a cone on cardboard. Cut and glue it. Cut off the top of the cone. It turned out the base of the floor lamp shade. We glue it with lace. We bend the wire in half and pass it through the rod. We attach the lampshade from above to the wire, from below to the lid - to give stability to the floor lamp. The lid can be decorated with a lace skirt. Instead of a rod, you can use beads as a stand by passing a wire through them. In this case, we also decorate the lampshade with beads.

Watch the video for a master class on making doll furniture from old boxes.

Chandelier

To make a chandelier, we need a small container. You can use measuring cups for medicines, disposable plastic stacks, the simplest candles in a metal case.

To decorate the chandelier, you will need strips of lace, thin strips of satin ribbon. They need to glue the plastic base of the chandelier. You don't even need to decorate the metal case, you get an original chandelier. We attach an LED to the base of the container that we used, if you were thinking of a house with real lighting. We hang it from the ceiling. The method of fixing to the ceiling will depend on the materials from which the house is made.

Thus, you can make lamps in any room of your dollhouse.

Dollhouse kitchen

For the manufacture of the kitchen, it will be convenient to use small boxes. If there are no such boxes, then it will be necessary to make them out of cardboard. This is not difficult to do. It will be convenient to use if the boxes are glued together, making a single structure.

If hanging cabinets are planned for the kitchen, then we glue a sheet of cardboard to the back wall of the cabinets, on which we glue these cabinets. You can strengthen the structure by gluing long flat sticks to a sheet of cardboard from the back. It is necessary to cut through the cabinet doors in the boxes.

To decorate our kitchen, we will use self-adhesive paper, or any other beautiful paper. We glue the cabinets, use wire and beads to make handles for them. The faucet can be made of wire, the mixer handle can be made of small beads. A deep lid works well for the sink. We attach it to the table top. The burners of the stove can be made from buttons. You can arrange the space between the cabinets in the form of a tiled apron. To do this, find a suitable picture on the Internet and print it. Stick it onto a piece of cardboard that the cabinets are attached to.

We arrange dishes and food. The kitchen is ready, you can send the hostess to cook!

You can see a master class on making a kitchen in the next video.

Stages of work:

  1. We measure the required height of the table on the box so that the doll is comfortable to sit at it.
  2. Cut off the excess.
  3. The base of the table is the bottom of the box. Cut out the legs from the part below.
  4. We glue the resulting table with self-adhesive paper
  5. Draw the desired mirror shape on cardboard and cut it out. We glue the foil as a mirror surface.
  6. We decorate the mirror frame using thin strips of the ceiling plinth.
  7. We glue the mirror to the table.

We make a chair for a dressing table in the same way. We change only the required height. Instead of a mirrored surface, we make the back of the chair.

The child's desire to play with dolls must be encouraged and supported. Do-it-yourself doll furniture will be an excellent way to bring together the older and younger generations. Various furnishings, copying the adult interior, contribute to the development of the child's imagination and logical thinking. Dare, create, and the dollhouse will turn into a small masterpiece.

Variety of doll furniture

Sets of doll furniture amaze with their variety and elegance. It is easiest to buy a ready-made kit, but it is much more interesting to make miniature furniture for dolls with your own hands. In addition to the standard interior elements in the form of a bed, an armchair and a table, almost any object can be made from scrap materials. The main thing is to be smart and set aside some free time. Kitchen and bedroom sets are most often found in the set for playing with dolls. But the child will be delighted with the desk, floor lamp and bath.

The complexity of making doll furniture is determined by the material chosen as the basis. Sizes should be appropriate for the doll's height. It is very easy for little babies to make furniture based on matchboxes. The owner of the dolls is often involved in the process. For larger copies, choose cardboard and plywood.

The materials at hand that are often used in the manufacture of do-it-yourself doll furniture are presented in the following list:

  • Plywood sheets. The most durable option for decorating doll furniture. Processing plywood sheets is not for everyone and often requires the ownership of a jigsaw. But the doll furniture that came out from under the hands of the master is striking in its sophistication.
  • Thick cardboard. It is much easier to process, a school-age child can work with it independently without the help of adults. Often, ready-made cardboard boxes are selected as the basis for doll furniture.
  • Matchboxes. Ideal for a miniature dollhouse, where the main inhabitant is small.
  • Plastic containers for cosmetics. Do not rush to throw away an elegant jar after cream and shampoo containers. Perhaps they will transform into an elegant ottoman or a comfortable doll chair. Even a small plastic bottle can become the basis for a chair. The following video demonstrates how to make a comfortable toilet.
  • Viscose napkins and dish sponges. They are used to decorate the upholstered part of doll furniture.
  • Containers for eggs, wire, beads, skewers. The list is endless. The choice of additional elements depends on the complexity of the doll design and the desired decor.

Exclusive sets of furniture for dolls, designed by wood craftsmen, are presented in the photo:

Chair manufacturing options

There are several ways to make a comfortable doll chair. The choice of material depends on the size of the doll, whether you have a desire to use the child or you will arrange everything with your own hands. The presented options differ in complexity, so everyone can choose the most suitable piece of furniture for themselves.

Model 1

To work you will need:

  • cardboard with a thickness of 1.0-1.5 mm;
  • foam board with a thickness of about 5 mm, it can be replaced by 3 mm corrugated board;
  • thick white paper;
  • tube Ø 15-25 mm, for doll furniture, a thread tube or marker body is suitable;
  • thin foam rubber or fleece;
  • upholstery fabric;
  • glue, scissors, pencil, ruler.

Algorithm for making a doll chair with your own hands:

Comment! The external aesthetics of a doll's chair and any other furniture depends on the finish. Therefore, take care of beautiful upholstery material.

The upholstery elements are cut out according to the previously prepared drawing, only allowances are made of 15 mm. Before making out the back, it is initially covered with foam rubber on one side. This element can be made removable or stationary. Making a pillow for doll furniture with your own hands is even easier, the steps are repeated with the backrest.

The work, of course, is painstaking, but the result deserves admiration.

Model 2

You can make a chair for a doll even easier. The base is a small cardboard box. Based on the size of the base, a blank is cut out of foam rubber, which will simultaneously be the back and armrests. Scotch tape will help fix it on the seat. The armchair is decorated with upholstery fabric, supplemented with a miniature pillow. If you take the box not square, but oblong, you will get a chic doll sofa.

Instead of cardboard, the legs can be made from ice cream sticks.

It is not much more difficult to make a bed with drawers... For this, matchboxes are glued together in 2 layers. On the side that will be used as a box, beads are glued or fastened with wire. After connecting to the backs, the furniture is decorated with paper. Additionally, it is advisable to sew bedding.

A small bed can be made from cardboard sheets:

  • Initially, they print the proposed drawing or draw on their own.
  • Parts are cut out of paper, then transferred to cardboard or plywood.
  • Collect interesting design doll furniture.

Comment! If plywood is used in the work, the edges of the blanks are carefully sanded so that the child does not get hurt while playing.

Sofa, chest of drawers and desk

Plywood is the most suitable material to make doll furniture. Similar to a bed, an exclusive doll sofa can be made of plywood.

  • The drawing on paper is transferred to plywood.
  • Parts are cut with an electric jigsaw.
  • A doll's sofa is a soft part of furniture, so the blanks are wrapped in thin foam rubber and decorated with upholstery fabric.
  • Separate elements of doll furniture are connected with studs.

The procedure can be slightly changed. First, the elements of the doll's sofa made of plywood are fixed to each other using Moment glue. The finished sofa is varnished and small soft pads are sewn onto it.

Show your creativity, develop them in your child with the help of independent design of doll furniture. This activity will allow you to get closer to your child, help him to reveal the abilities of a designer. Here are some easy options.

How to make a dollhouse with drawers

You will need:

  • Several boxes of matches by the number of boxes.
  • Cardboard tape, the width of which can cover the required number of boxes.
  • Shiny foil.
  • Scissors, glue.
  • Several golden plastic beads according to the number of boxes.

Take the boxes, stack them lengthwise. You should have a table with the planned height. Several pieces can be removed or added, depending on the final idea. Glue the pieces of stacked boxes together. Take the cardboard, bend it in the right places, completely wrap it around the side, in which there are no boxes. Then glue the cardboard. V finished version carefully cut off its edges with scissors and proceed to the decor.

Decorating a glamorous nightstand can be different. If you paste over it with shiny colored paper that looks like multi-colored foil, then there will be a glamorous look, especially if it is crimson, silver, gold. If you want the bedside table to be like a real one, then use imitation wood, colored wallpaper with a small pattern, or paper similar to them. This is sold in children's art stores.

Straighten the paper gently, apply glue to the wrong side. Smear it to flatten the foil. Then glue the back, the side with paper, flatten it until it's dry. This is done with the side of the ruler or with a blunt turn of the knife. The boxes can be decorated in whole or in part. You need to stick paper on the pull-out part, and if you want it to become completely colored, you can pull it out and glue it with paper on the outside or inside. The paper also needs to be straightened.

When it's dry, move on to the handles. Take a bead, drop glue on its base. Place it in the middle of the drawer drawer. Do the same with the rest of the beads, which should form an even row. They can be replaced with bulky self-adhesive rhinestones. When they are dry, the bedside table is ready.

Doll coffee table

A beginner can do it. You will need:

  • Square or elongated box of cream, soap.
  • Thick scotch tape, scissors.
  • Colored paper like foil.
  • Glue.

Take a cardboard box. Cut the front and back out of it. Then glue it with coarse tape from the inside, then from the outside. It is important that it lay down without folds - the attractiveness of the product will depend on this. Then start decorating.

Carefully cut the paper to fit the width of the box. Then stick it onto the tape. Most suitable is paper with a self-adhesive layer, on which you need to carefully apply glue, smooth the layer until it dries. Remove the remaining glue, dry the paper.

This piece of furniture is used as coffee table for a Barbie or a hanging cabinet that is glued to the wall of the house or put several products in one row. And if you combine it with glamorous bedside tables, you get a beautiful wardrobe for Barbie. We need to add a few more elements to it. Then furniture for dolls will be stylish and glamorous. She can furnish a room in one style.

Wardrobe for dolls

You will need:

  • 1, 2 bedside tables (see "How to make a bedside table").
  • 6 Barbie Coffee Tables (see Barbie Coffee Table).
  • Large cardboard for the back wall.
  • Cardboard for the cabinet door (this can be part of the cream box).
  • Beads by the number of doors.
  • Silver foil that looks like a mirror.
  • Scissors, glue and tape.

First, place the boxes over the area of the cardboard. It will be the back of the cabinet. Arrange matchboxes in a row in the middle. Having determined the required amount and proportions, get to work. Make a bedside table with drawers as in the description. The table, as a shelf in the closet, needs some work. If in the beginning it was necessary to cut out the front and back parts, now the back is cut out, and the front one serves as a cabinet door. You do not need to cut it. Cut it, cut it on three sides, without cutting the door, and glue it with colored paper outside and inside.

When choosing details, it is important that all boxes are of the same height and width, then it will look nice and neat. When you have decided on the number of elements, cut off the excess. Get to work.

Identify the empty space. It must be pasted over in advance with silver foil imitating a mirror. You can also stick a nice picture. It depends on personal taste. Experts do not recommend using two shiny textures in one set, and if you make all bedside tables and cabinets from shiny crimson fabric, replace the mirror part beautiful photo... Stick it on in advance. Hide the edges of the picture behind the cabinets.

When all the details are ready, glue them to the back wall. If you want the doors to close easily, attach a sticker or lock to them. One part is attached to the door, the other to the side wall. They are made from hooks and fasteners. They hold the door securely.

In addition to cabinets, tables and nightstands, upholstered furniture is also made for Barbies. For example, folding sofa... Such furniture for modern dolls will look bright and beautiful. And the material for the design depends on your imagination. Here's how to do it.

Folding sofa for Barbie

You will need:

  • A large piece of thick cardboard.
  • Several dish sponges, the same size.
  • Stapler.
  • Black velvet material.
  • Upholstery material.
  • Ribbon and Velcro.
  • Scissors, glue and a ruler.

Glue the sponge to the cardboard. Cut it to size. Do the same with the rest of the sponges. You will end up with three identical pieces. Wrap them in material and secure them with a stapler from the bottom. Then take the material slightly smaller than the size of the piece and glue it to the surface from the inside, hiding the traces of fixing. Before us are three identical details.

We process the back. Cut it out of cardboard, put the material on top. Secure with a stapler. Stick a velvet material on the fastener.

Lay the mattresses on top of each other and apply to the back. Then glue the bottom mattress and secure with tape. Attach it around the entire perimeter of the mattress and secure it at the back with glue. Then wrap the tape around the top mattress. Spread the glue on the surface, except for the middle, which will be a loop. They pull on it to unfold the sofa. You do not need to stick the tape to the wall, because it is fixed from the back with Velcro.

The sofa is ready. To unfold it, unfasten the Velcro and pull on the eyelet. Then fold carefully and use.

Fabulous glam doll chairs

They can be easily made from a regular Coca-Cola can, forfeit, or a sprite. To do this, you need to cut the jar into many thin strips. It is best if done by an adult, as it is easy to cut yourself on the edges of the can. When the can is cut, you need to direct part of the strips up (about 1/4 of the total mass), and all the rest down. Then divide the bottom strips by the number of legs and get to work.

Measure the number of strips that will go to each leg, then start twisting them on the sides. In this case, the middle leg should remain the longest, since it will become the main support of the leg, which sets its length. You can twist the strips in different directions, symmetrically or asymmetrically, depending on your idea. When all the legs are ready, you can proceed to the back. It needs to be twisted in the same way as the legs, from the edges to the middle, after which you can start the decor.

The chair looks incomplete without a seat. For it, you need to cut out the sponge in diameter, carefully rounding the top part. Cover with material and secure on the underside with glue. Better to use superglue that fixes metal surfaces... When the seat is dry, reapply the glue to the surface, attach to the chair seat. It dries up and you're done.

Several chairs will create the fantastic attributes of a magical castle. The main emphasis of the chair design depends on the color and texture of the seat upholstery. The darker, the more mystical options you will make. Dark shades purple, emerald or blue are more suitable for magical Monster Hight dolls than for a glamorous Barbie or fairy godmother. Pink, cream, red tones will allow you to create a glamorous or vintage product, complemented by a round silver table with a leg, and colorful fabric will create a unique antique flavor.

Floor lamp for dolls

It can be made from aluminum wire and a lampshade. It is made from threads, special beads for decoration or a lace frame.

Beads can be purchased at craft stores. They come in different sizes, but wickerwork will work well. They will allow you to create a country-style floor lamp. More suitable for glamor lace lampshades... They do it like this.

A cone is made of cardboard or thick paper. Then lace is glued onto it. If desired, you can fix them with needles with pearl tips, then the lampshade will look glamorous. Then we proceed to the frame.

To do this, you need to bend the wire at the bottom and string a thin rod onto it. From above, spread the ends in different directions and put a lampshade on them. Secure it. The floor lamp is ready and you can put it in the dollhouse. It will suit any design and will prove to be an irreplaceable decoration. Especially if it's a bedroom, a rest room, or even a balcony for Barbie and her friends.

This is not all DIY furniture for dolls. But it will allow the child to reveal their creative potential, becoming a stepping stone in the creation of masterpieces.
