In the 2017-18 academic year, the Voronezh Institute of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia will for the first time recruit students on a budgetary basis. According to the results of the competition for the distribution of admission control figures, the institute received 16 full-time and 19 correspondence budget places for training bachelors and 15 full-time and 10 part-time places for training specialists in the direction of training "Technosphere safety and environmental management" at the expense of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The use of the field method of mathematical modeling of fires makes it possible to most accurately determine the paths of propagation of hazardous factors of fire in rooms and corridors of buildings. In 1968, the first recruitment of junior command personnel of paramilitary fire brigades took place in the detachment. Two groups were completed: the first - for the training of junior inspectors and assistant preventive instructors, the second - for the training of department commanders.
On February 16, 1970, the detachment was allotted a plot of 3.5 hectares for the construction of a complex of facilities for a Training fire brigade for 150 people on Krasnoznamennaya Street in the Leninsky District of Voronezh. At that time, the detachment was stationed in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Voronezh (Oktyabrsky prospect, 124).
In 1974, with the active help of the garrison of the fire brigade, two new buildings were built at 231 Krasnoznamennaya Street. The detachment moved to a new location and was almost immediately renamed School of training for junior and middle command personnel... In October 1984, the School was renamed to Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, on the basis of which the Voronezh fire-technical school was created in 1993.
In July 2008, the Voronezh fire-fighting school of the EMERCOM of Russia was given the status of an institute (Order of the Government of the Russian Federation of July 21, 2008 No. cases of civil defense, emergency situations and elimination of consequences of natural disasters ").
In February 2009, the Institute was transferred to the territory of the 847 Rescue Center with a total area of 33 hectares. Currently, active construction of educational buildings, a training ground and other infrastructure of the institute is underway on the transferred territory.
At the moment, the institute has gathered within its walls highly qualified specialists-teachers with extensive experience in both practical and teaching activities.
In October 2016, information appeared on the network about the possible dissolution of the Voronezh Institute of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia. A little later, on the well-known online platform for creating public petitions, a petition appeared addressed to the President of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation and the Governor of the Voronezh Region, with a call to stop the liquidation of the institute.
In 2011, the combined team of the Voronezh Institute was awarded the Diploma and the Cup "For humor and resourcefulness" in the "Video warm-up" competition in the KVN teams competitions in the EMERCOM of Russia system.
In November 2012, the KVN team of the FGBOU VPO Voronezh Institute of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia took part and won first place in the final of the 15th anniversary season of the League of KVN EMERCOM of Russia, which took place at the Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, Moscow. In 2013, the KVN team “It makes sense to save” became the vice-champion of the Voronezh Student League.
On June 3 and 4, 2015, on the basis of the Civil Protection Academy, the qualifying games of the championship of the KVN teams in the EMERCOM of Russia system were held. As a result of a tense struggle, three teams got tickets to the finals: "Funny Rescuers" AGZ, "Fire and Ya" IASA GPS and "It makes sense to save" - the team of the Voronezh Institute of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia.
After winning the Regional League Cup, the KVN team “It makes sense to save” got into the KVN Premier League, the games of which are broadcast on the first federal channel.
On March 2, 2016, the KVN team “It makes sense to save” successfully performed in the 1/8 finals of the Premier League and shared the first place with the “No preservatives” team from St. Petersburg. The team made it to the 1/4.
On May 14, 2016, the KVN team "It makes sense to save" performed in the quarterfinals of the Premier League of KVN, where it took 3rd place and advanced to the semifinals.
