Wong kyu kit qigong and health. Won Q Keith

This book is for those who want to be healthy in every way: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Here are the techniques and exercises that will increase your vitality, thanks to which you will achieve great success in work and creativity. You will always enjoy the purity of thoughts and freshness of consciousness and will find peace of mind. All this will give you qigong.

Qigong is the esoteric art of mastering energy. The book reveals esotericity, the mysterious becomes simple and understandable. No preliminary preparation is required: all concepts and concepts are described in the language to which Westerners are accustomed. Gradually, step by step, you will become familiar with all the important concepts of this art, and at the end of the book you will learn about the most difficult ones.

This work describes the following important sections of qigong:

Qigong history, philosophy and field of activity;

Qigong for longevity health;

Significance for sports, sex and youth;

The inner strength of the martial arts;

Miraculous consciousness training;

The highest achievements of qigong.

The book deals with qigong in great detail. Therefore, you can select only those chapters that are interesting or useful to you, and read the rest later. You can read it just for fun. Due to cultural, philosophical and other characteristics, some readers will find other descriptions incredible, even impossible. Nevertheless, most of the examples have been verified by my students and myself. Examples that go beyond common knowledge are borrowed from great teachers and famous masters. However, I ask you not to take anything written here on faith, relying only on the authority of the source. Master the principles and exercises suggested as you try to understand them, and appreciate the merits of the principles and techniques only after thorough testing.

It should be noted that qigong is not so much an intellectual discipline as a practical one. It is not enough just to read and understand the essence of qigong (although this is useful in itself). Anyone who wants to appreciate and use the art to its fullest must practice. It takes practice to master any business. So, it takes several months to learn to play the piano passably. It will also take your baby several months to learn how to dress independently. Therefore, it is unrealistic and unreasonable to expect mastery in qigong, as in any other art, without appropriate training.

The art of qigong is not religious. It can be practiced without fear of offending any religious beliefs. At a higher level, the art of qigong acquires spirituality, goes beyond the bodily. However, many people exercise and benefit enormously from training the physical body alone, leaving aside the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects.

The exercises are carried out in stages, but there is no need, and I do not advise doing them all at once. Practice has shown that the best result is achieved when practicing one technique for several months. If you wish, you can sometimes perform several exercises from another complex for a change. Having devoted several months to the study of a specific technique, you can move on to another.

The explanation of the qigong exercises is given in such a way that the reader can practice from the book on his own. However, it would be very helpful for a beginner to find an experienced instructor. Moreover, it is not necessary that the instructor has mastered the qigong style described in the book. A good knowledge of at least one style gives an understanding of the general principles of art. If it was not possible to find an instructor, then you need to study more patiently and prudently, but without false fears and hesitations.

The ancient Chinese, like other great peoples, did not isolate knowledge. Thus, many scholars and qigong masters were poets at the same time. They often presented the results of their work in poetic form. Many of the quotes quoted here were originally poems, and I did the translation myself. If you do not find them poetic, then my translation is to blame, and not the quality of the original. In some cases, the original word order and syntax have been changed to suit rhyme and size, but the underlying meaning is preserved. In my opinion, truthfulness and beauty can and should coexist.

I am convinced that by devoting myself to qigong practice, I made the only right choice in my life. I hope to convince you to devote yourself to qigong too. I enjoyed every minute of writing the manuscript. I wish you enjoy reading and get the most out of this book.

WARNING

The Qigong techniques are clearly and systematically explained, but neither the author nor the publisher is responsible for any harm or unwanted consequences that may arise from reading this book or doing the exercises described here. The responsibility lies entirely with the reader.

However, don't worry too much. With the exception of high-level techniques where special warnings are given, correct qigong practice is safer than walking.

PART ONE. HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY AND SCOPE OF QIGONG

CHAPTER ONE. WONDERFUL WORLD OF QIGONG

The source of life, birth and change is qi. Everything in heaven and on earth is subject to this law. On the periphery, qi embraces the universe, inside qi gives rise to everything.

SEVERAL INCREDIBLE STORIES

“Let's go get the ball, kids,” Ramnam said to his grandchildren. No one looking at the energetic Ramnam would have guessed that just a year ago this kind grandfather had serious heart problems. So serious that his attending doctors doubted whether the old man would walk again.

The charming young teacher Sharifa knelt down and took a slow deep breath. Suddenly, with the speed of lightning, she struck a brick with her hand. The brick was broken, not her fragile hand. When the loud applause died down, one of the spectators was surprised: “How did she do it? She has such gentle hands! ”

Talking to Qing, a senior government official, some were perplexed, others admired. He often answered the question before being asked. "How do you do it?" - they asked him. “I read the question in your head,” he replied with a smile.

The events described took place at different times, but they have something in common - Ramnam, Sharifa, and Qing learned qigong from me. Their energy or ability came from practicing this wonderful art.

DISCLOSING SECRETS

Not surprisingly, many readers have never heard of qigong - the ancient art was kept in strict secrecy twenty years ago.

We are often suspicious and distrustful of an unknown subject, despite the fact that other people have been able to appreciate it. This remark is extremely pertinent when considering the practice and philosophy of qigong. Some, perhaps, do not realize the full depth of the wisdom of the East and are shocked by contact with it. They should refrain from automatically recognizing as impossible or absurd the way of thinking and behavior patterns of another culture, alien to them, and try to delve into the customs of another people.

THE ART OF ENERGY DEVELOPMENT

Qigong is the art of developing energy, especially for health, inner strength and training of consciousness. In Chinese, energy is called qi.

Qi is the very energy that allows you and me to walk and talk, work and play, philosophize and observe, that is, do everything that is necessary for a fulfilling life. The energy that turns the lunch you just eaten into flesh and bone is also qi. It sets the necessary muscles in motion when you smile; defeats hostile microorganisms attacking your body; transmits impulses from the brain to various organs and tissues and performs countless other processes inside the human body. We do not realize this, but it is she who maintains life on this planet.

Of course, qi is not only obtained through qigong. Usually people acquire qi, or life energy, from air and food. But practicing qigong greatly increases our energy, allowing us to achieve more in life.

In addition to sustaining life - the most important and often overlooked function - qi does many other useful things. There are three main areas where qigong is especially valuable - health, inner strength, and training of the mind. There is one more direction (for those who are ready to accept it) - spiritual development.

Qigong is an excellent cure for illness and health. One of the Chinese proverbs says that qigong cures hundreds of diseases. It is clear that many readers will consider this an exaggeration, but the following chapters not only show why the art of qigong is miraculous, but also provide many examples confirming this, at first glance, groundless statement.

Obviously, the inner strength is directed from within our body. It must be distinguished from external, usually muscular or mechanical, and sometimes brute force. It was said above about a young woman who broke a brick with her fragile hand. Here is an example of the application of inner strength. If you can work vigorously and energetically all day and have the joy of spending the evening with your family, you too are demonstrating inner strength. Qigong develops it, and from what follows you will see how.

TRAINING THE MIND AND SOUL

The concept of the unity of body and mind prevailed in the thinking of the sages of the East for centuries. In addition to keeping the body healthy and beautiful, qigong is excellent for training the mind. The mental aspect of qigong practice is very important at all levels, although many beginners may not understand this. He is usually given a lot of attention in the advanced stages of art studies, when fantastic things become possible. The highly developed intuitive consciousness of a qigong master, perhaps more than other factors, is responsible for the master's accomplishment of seemingly impossible things. In the book, you will read how and why a master can do what non-professionals call a miracle.

The highest achievement of qigong is spiritual perfection. Obviously, some people are ready for this; while others may think that trying to achieve this is insane! You may disagree with this possibility, but I did not come up with this theory or invented a way to achieve perfection. This is the sum of the thoughts and experiments of the greatest minds in history. Higher attainment allows you to activate the innate immortality that is inherent in every human being. You will reach the heights of the spirit regardless of what religion you profess (or do not believe in God at all). If you are a Christian, you will receive the Kingdom of God. The Muslim will return to Allah. The Hindu will unite with Brahman. A Buddhist will attain nirvana. Adept of Taoism will be reunited with the cosmos. Even if you claim that you do not believe in God, you will feel the grace of being spiritually immersed in the Highest Reality. If you are ready, you will intuitively feel the inspiring impact of this sublime sensation. If you are not ready, then the words about spiritual perfection will remain empty words.

PREHISTORIC DISCOVERIES

Qigong is indeed older than history itself. It was practiced in antiquity not only by the Chinese, but also by the peoples of other great cultures in different countries and in different eras. This art has been known by various names. In India, for example, it was called yoga; the ancient Greeks and Egyptians called it the art of the sacraments; in Tibet - the art of wisdom.

The masters of these mysterious arts have probably never even heard of the term qigong. However, in all these arts, goals, approaches, methodology and philosophy were similar. Like the Chinese, the masters of other ancient peoples guarded their secrets from outsiders, teaching the art to only a very few, select students. Therefore, the esoteric arts in different countries developed independently of each other.

Chinese archaeological evidence suggests that Neolithic cavemen practiced qigong! They probably discovered various qigong techniques through trial and error. For example, they found that if, at the moment of physical exertion, while lifting a heavy object, a person utters “het”, he will be able to direct more energy towards the task. And if it is easy to blow on the wound, uttering the sound "shsss", you can relieve the pain.

ANIMAL IMITATION AND INTERNAL VISION

During the reign of the Shang Dynasty (16th – 11th centuries BC), the development of qigong reached a high level. Bronze vessels from this period depict human figures performing qigong movements. Perhaps they became the prototypes of modern exercises.

Many modern techniques repeat the characteristic features of the movements of different animals: turtles, cranes, monkeys. The masters of the past believed that the characteristics of animals, such as the longevity of the turtle, the degree of the crane, the agility of the monkey, were transferred to their way of life and actions. These and other physical movements designed to direct and conduct the flow of internal energy are known as daoin. This means that qigong practitioners imitate animal movements not because they want to resemble animals, but because they want to acquire those properties of animals that are superior to humans.

During the Zhou Dynasty (11th – 3rd centuries BC), significant progress was made in the art of qigong. The concepts of yin-yang and bagua presented in the famous “Yi Ching” (“Book of Changes”) * (* The author gives the Chinese transcription of “The Book of Changes”; in most Russian sources it is translated as “I-Ching.” - Here and below approx. ed.), later became integral elements of qigong philosophy.

Those unfamiliar with the Yi Ching may find her divinations naive and even ridiculous. However, the Yi Ching predictions were often used by very powerful people, generals and emperors, whose advisors were the wisest people of their time.

Modern scholars and thinkers recognize the depth of the Yi Ching wisdom. Predictions according to the “Book of Changes” with the help of a copper coin, like the fortune-telling of the Romans, fortune-telling in mirrors or through the “magic crystal” of the gypsies, is the penetration of our subconscious into the boundless wisdom of the Mind of the universe.

The basis of I Ching divination is made up of pakua, or eight trigrams. The three lines of the gua, or trigram, are, of course, not just lines. Each gua is a physical symbol corresponding to a metaphysical or subconscious manifestation. Each gua has a name. One of them, gen, corresponds to different parts of the human body and their functions.

It was the meditation of the Chinese sages on gen that developed in them the superpowers of nei guan (inner vision) and nei jue (inner reflection). These superpowers led to the growth of cun xiang - the retention of thought in qigong. All three concepts together are commonly translated as “visualization,” but there is a subtle difference between the two in Chinese. Tsun xiang and Tao Yin gave rise to two fundamental directions in the development of qigong.

SEARCHING THE WAY TO THE AREA OF THE GODS

Chinese, beautiful and imaginative, can create problems for those who understand it when translating Qigong terms. Let's see what happens when translated into Russian, no less beautiful and poetic. The literal translation of the statement "Nei Jing" (internal classical medicine) looks like this:

The saints carefully eat the heavenly air and pave the way to the abode of the gods.

Based on this translation, some readers will find Nei Ching as a joke. However, even now in Chinese medical circles, this book is considered the most authoritative work on Chinese medicine. This assessment becomes clearer when we uncover the secret meaning of the above statement:

A sage familiar with the secret art of immersion in meditation breathes in cosmic energy. In the process of constant practice, he acquires superpowers.

The meaning of this truth may seem unclear at first. Realization will come in the process of studying this work.

The Nei Jing contains the outstanding medical achievements of the ancient Chinese in the period leading up to the Zhou dynasty. The book laid a solid foundation for the philosophy and further development of qigong and all Chinese medicine. Many of the principles mentioned in the Nei Ching can be very helpful to modern physicians if they take the trouble to pay closer attention to them. Consider one of the examples that make up the meaning of qigong and Chinese medicine:

A person is born with the qi of heaven and earth and experiences four seasons.

Although the translation is clear, it is better to give a detailed interpretation. The point is that classical Chinese texts are very short. Words have a deeper meaning than it might seem at first glance. This is what this statement implies:

The very substance from which a person is born is all the same matter that forms the universe, and this is energy. Energy manifests itself in different forms, which can be divided into two main groups. The first group is formed by the subtle types of energy of the sky. The second group includes the gross types of earth energy.

Do not think that the above interpretation is a personal interpretation. All students who have studied Chinese medicine and qigong who are familiar with the Nei Jing will understand this statement in this way. Of course, it is not at all necessary to use such words for interpretation.

The advantage of the concept under consideration, which forms the foundation of both Chinese medicine and qigong, is obvious in comparison with modern methods of medical practice. For example, all patients suffering from a specific disease undergo the same course of treatment in modern clinics. Neither the physical nor the emotional conditions surrounding the patient are taken into account. Neither psychological nor physiological changes in the patient's state of health are taken into account. This is the philosophy of Western medicine. Only the disease is diagnosed and the appropriate treatment prescribed. Western medicine is in stark contrast to Chinese medicine. In China, the patient is considered as a whole and does not focus on the external symptoms of the disease.

However, it inspires hope that modern scientists are beginning to realize the influence of cosmic energies on the human body. After studying the statements of many Western researchers, Lyall Watson comes to the conclusion:

We wake up and fall asleep, sweat and shiver, urinate and breathe in response to signals from space.

Cosmic signals are so subtle that it took medical science a long time. Before she took them seriously. But in the past ten years, we have literally been hit by a stream of clinical cases associated with insomnia, violations of the female monthly cycle, stress caused by changes in the rhythm of life, for example, flying through several time zones on a jet plane. The attitude towards signals from space is changing. At present, scientists are increasingly inclined to believe that the functional unity of the body, strengthening and effective work of the Central nervous system largely depend on the influence of electromagnetic fields.

The fundamental Chinese concept of cosmic energy goes beyond the concept of orthodox medicine. That is why the Chinese and many other peoples of the East strive to follow the laws of nature, and not subordinate them to their own will. In full accordance with this principle, great qigong masters can control the elements in special situations. It is by following the basic principle that great masters do things that cannot be explained from the point of view of Western science. We will discuss these and other great topics in more detail in the following chapters.

HEALTH RISE - HEALTH IMPROVEMENT EXERCISE

Qigong is an applied art, not a purely academic one. Practice is essential.

The following exercise is one of the best in qigong - it is useful for both the beginner and the master. Moreover, some deviations in the execution technique are permissible, even small errors.

Form in qigong is not an end in itself, its task is to create a flow of energy within the body.

However, it is extremely important to breathe smoothly. Usually beginners try to breathe as deeply as possible. They think that the deeper the breath, the more strength will come. This is not true. In qigong classes, not just air is inhaled, but cosmic energy. Efforts during inhalation often impede the flow of cosmic energy.

Another prerequisite is the ability to relax. As you do the exercise, free your mind of unpleasant thoughts. These three points are fundamental to all qigong practice. However, for a beginner completely unfamiliar with qigong, even these can be difficult. Dont be upset. For a while, just try to do the exercise without any tension.

Stand up straight, relax your muscles, put your legs together. Put your hands down.

Turn your hands with your fingers towards each other so that there is a right angle between the hands and forearms.

Direct your palms to the ground and hold them in front of you (Fig. 1.1).

Rice. 1.1

Raise your arms forward and up. Point your palms up to the sky.

Keep them perpendicular to your forearms (fig. 1.2).

Rice. 1.2

While moving with your hands, inhale gently through your nose.

Look at the fingers with your head up. Hold your breath gently.

Bring your palms up to the sky, keeping them perpendicular to your forearms.

Then, through the sides, lower your hands down, "exhaling smoothly through your mouth.

At the same time, lower your head and look forward (fig. 1.3).

Rice. 1.3. RISE OF THE SKY

Repeat the exercise 10 to 20 times.

Each time you move your palms towards the sky, feel your back straighten. As you lower your arms, feel the flow of energy down the body.

This exercise is called sky raising. As with so many things, its shape is deceptively simple. It is not the form itself that is important, but the flow of energy generated by the exercise. Do at least only this exercise ten times every morning, without missing a single day for three months. The results will be very tangible and you will understand why “raising the sky” is one of the best qigong exercises.

Sifu Wong Kiew Kit has studied and taught the arts of the legendary Chinese Shaolin Monastery for 30 years, bringing up over 8,000 students from different countries during this period.

He is known as the fourth-generation successor of the legacy of the Venerable Monk Jiang Nan and as the great master of the Wanam Shaolin Institute for the Study of the Arts of Kung Fu and Qigong.

In 1997, at the Second World Qigong Congress in San Francisco, Won Kyu-Kit received the Qigong Master of the Year award.

And his books on the martial arts of the Shaolin monastery and Buddhism have become popular with readers all over the world.

Reader Comments

Valery/ 2.04.2020 Good afternoon, everyone! Can someone suggest how you can contact the master directly or through someone else. I have been doing qigong myself for many years and I understand that only he can help me in treating my daughter. Thanks in advance to everyone. My e-mail [email protected]

the guest/ 13.02.2020 this master also has a book "Qigong and Health"

Alexander O/ 06/13/2019 I am - for a minute - a qigong instructor with 10 years of experience. Studied live with different Masters.

Sergey/ 06/13/2019 Alexander Oh, nothing personal, but you are ignorant. I saw the master many times live and trained with him. The way he looks and what he can, and especially what and how much he knows, says otherwise.

Alexander O/ 05/23/2017 I watched the video with him. Qi does not pass through the channels - ordinary gymnastics. We saw how a cat moves or a bear - a flowing step. Locked and chained here. What kind of master is he? He's just a successful narrow-eyed businessman - there are many of them.

Boogeyman/ 03/20/2017 "The Art of Qigong" is an excellent book to introduce you to Qigong and lay the foundation. The exercises are simple and powerful.

Alexander/ 9.12.2014 I consider myself the most that mere mortals can eat! The art of Qigong Won Kyu-Kita well tunes the spirit. after two weeks of training I was well "shaken" in the exercise "rise of the moon", I was in shock. the movements were sharp, amplitude and independent of my consciousness or desire, a week later, in the same exercise, I began to see different contrasting color forms, or even these forms were added to matrices, it was not always possible to remember everything, the consciousness seemed to leave you on for a few seconds, I will not describe everything that happened for some reason, soon I had a chance to communicate with a qigong master of another school. he told me, "in a short time you have achieved a lot, but you need to stop doing this, people come to this for years, your achievement is tantamount to going into space without a spacesuit." Of course, his words influenced my consciousness as a catalyst. Probably the most correct decision would be to roll in Asia Minor into taiping, to WON KEW-KIT and ask him these questions.

Dmitriy/ 20.11.2014 I read a lot of books on wushu. Won Q Kit seemed to me the coolest

Tilek/ 11.02.2013 I am very mail master. His words always inspire me and I consider my teacher, although I am not a direct student. I would like to download all of his books where can I find them?

Oleg/ 04/23/2012 "The Art of Qigong" is an excellent book, studying on it without a mentor, I was good at mastering the technique and discovered, as they say in the PRC, "special abilities" about a month after the start of classes. I also advise you to read and master the continuation of the same technique according to the book by the same author "Qigong and Health" (this will only benefit you). Good luck!

Alexey/ 28.01.2012 Hello dear MASTER! I have been practicing Taijiquan for 15 years. And I am grateful for your books, but I would like an old complex with a sword, sixth classically. Can you find your sites? I express my deepest gratitude to you for your books!

Albert/ 17.10.2011 Large collection of books on Qigong and Taoism (123 books): http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3777003

Alexander/ 16.05.2011 great books, deep bow to Master Won Q Keith

a common person/ 30.01.2011 I will say the opposite, study and do not be afraid of anything, it is not dangerous just not to live, nothing is dangerous for the dead, he is already in the grave.
Only on the path is the path comprehended.

FOREWORD

Qigong history, philosophy and field of activity;

Qigong for longevity health;

Significance for sports, sex and youth;

The inner strength of the martial arts;

Miraculous consciousness training;

PART ONE. HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY AND SCOPE OF QIGONG

CHAPTER ONE. WONDERFUL WORLD OF QIGONG

The source of life, birth and change is qi. Everything in heaven and on earth is subject to this law. On the periphery, qi embraces the universe, inside qi gives rise to everything.

"Nei Cain" SEVERAL INCREDIBLE STORIES

“Let's go get the ball, kids,” Ramnam said to his grandchildren. No one looking at the energetic Ramnam would have guessed that just a year ago this kind grandfather had serious heart problems. So serious that his attending doctors doubted whether the old man would walk again.

The charming young teacher Sharifa knelt down and took a slow deep breath. Suddenly, with the speed of lightning, she struck a brick with her hand. The brick was broken, not her fragile hand.

Of course, qi is not only obtained through qigong. Usually people acquire qi, or life energy, from air and food. But practicing qigong greatly increases our energy, allowing us to achieve more in life.

In addition to maintaining life - the most important and often overlooked function - qi does many other useful things. There are three main areas where qigong is especially valuable - health, inner strength, and training of the mind. There is one more direction (for those who are ready to accept it) - spiritual development.
