– this is not the easiest task. But it is quite capable of real homemade ones. The most important thing is to know where to start. And you need to start by purchasing the starting material. Thick plastic or organic glass is what 36 cubes should be made of, which you will find in a store or market.

You will also have to buy 216 small Chinese magnets (as shown in the photo). Finding these sources is perhaps the most difficult task. The rest is all quite doable.


Next you will need a thin drill bit and a vise. You need to clamp a transparent cube in them, and then drill a small hole in it. The diameter of the drill must match the size of the magnets, and the depth must not be greater than its height.


In each face you need to fix one magnet (respectively in the center of the face). You can glue the magnets using transparent super glue, or you can use epoxy resin.

You will need to cut out squares that fit the faces of the Rubik's cube. And then carefully glue them into place. Making such a cube will take you a lot of time, but making such a puzzle with your own hands is practically aerobatics.

The cube is a fairly universal figure. Due to the fact that the polyhedron is regular, it can be used as a stand or a decorative element.

Making a cube with your own hands is not difficult. It can be created from almost any available materials - paper, wood, fabric. The cube base can be used for decoupage or other purposes.

To make such a cube, it is better not to use thin printer paper, however, it is quite suitable for training. Thick photographic paper or drawing paper with a density of 160 gm2 or more is suitable.

For testing, take an A4 sheet of paper. Place the sheet horizontally in front of you. In the center of the sheet, draw two horizontal parallel lines so that the distance between them is 5 cm.

Next, divide the resulting rectangle into squares with a side of 5 cm. You should end up with four squares. Having retreated 3 squares to the left, draw one more square on top and bottom of the third square. The figure took the shape of a cross. If you intend to connect the cube with glue, then on the long side of the template you must leave 5 mm indentations along the entire length.

Where the fold line will be, it is necessary to make small cuts of 5 mm in the form of triangles. Then, when assembling, you won’t have to bend the corners and there will be no risk of crushing the cube. Bend the cube along all fold lines so that there are no distortions.

For ease of assembly, you can follow the fold lines with a ruler or fingernail. After this, glue is applied to the indentations. It is best to apply it not with the tube spout, but with a thin brush - this makes it easier to control the process. Then you should carefully connect all the edges.

If other elements are supposed to be applied on top of the cube, then you can connect the edges using transparent adhesive tape. In addition, you can use colored tape to make the product original.

Using the same scheme, a cube is created from cardboard. It will be stronger and more durable.

Wooden cubes are the most practical. They are environmentally friendly, they can be used as a basis for further artistic works and given to children as toys. For children's toys, aspen, linden, poplar and alder are usually used.

You can take harder rock, but it is more difficult to process. Coniferous species can be used for blanks, but they are not suitable for children's cubes. To make a wooden cube, you will need a minimum set of tools: a simple pencil, a ruler, a hacksaw, a jigsaw and a grinding tool or sandpaper.

The easiest way is to make a cube from a rectangular block. Then all that remains is to mark the block into equal parts and saw off the required number of pieces.

Then the cubes should be sanded. If the workpiece does not allow this, it is first sawed with a hacksaw so as to obtain one of the sides equal to the side of the future cube. After which, the workpiece is sawn into fragments. The cube is decorated depending on its further purpose.

It is best to coat children's toys with a safe, colorless varnish. You can stick various pictures on children's cubes. You can also make a puzzle. Polymer clay cube

  • Upon completion of work, the oven must be disinfected and washed thoroughly.

It is very easy to make a polymer clay cube. This shape can be easily sculpted by hand or cut with a knife. In its soft form, pieces of polymer clay are easily connected to each other. From multi-colored pieces you can make a Rubik's cube, or make original dice, and even earrings.

3x3 Rubik's cube formulas: calculating moves

Today we decided to tell you how to make a Rubik's cube with your own hands. And yes, before we begin, we want to point out that this is not an easy task. Moreover, they are sold at relatively low prices. Well, if you still want to make this puzzle on your own, below is the master class.

You will need the following:

  • organic glass or thick plastic;
  • small magnets;
  • vice;
  • drill, drill;
  • glue;
  • felt-tip pen;
  • colored paper.

It should be noted that 36 cubes and 216 magnets are required. These should be miniature magnets. In addition, the drill must match the diameter of the magnets, which, as you understand, must have a round cross-section. As for glue, in this case you can use “Moment”.   1. We cut out 6 square blanks, each measuring 15x15 cm, from six multi-colored sheets of paper.   2. Unfold and fold both sides in half again towards the middle of the square. We should get four parallel equal stripes on each square.
  3. Fold the workpiece again along the outer folds towards the middle. We get a strip of 15x7.5 cm. Next, you need to make a rhombus. To do this, you need to turn two opposite corners.
  4. Once again, bending the corners, you need to make a small square.
  5. We got six multi-colored rhombuses with edges bent into squares. We won’t bend or fold anything else. We put together 6 pieces for the cube.
  6. Now they need to be inserted with the corners into the slots and carefully glued together. To do this, you can use either PVA glue or tape. The paper can hold without fastening, but to prevent the structure from falling apart at a crucial moment, we will glue it together.
  7. The assembly scheme can be arbitrary. The main thing is to make sure that all six diamonds take their places.
  8. This is origami - a miniature Rubik's cube can be made from multi-colored paper. To add Russian motifs to origami, you can use paper with small flowers or polka dots to make 2 diamonds. Black paper and magazine sheets with printed text are another original combination for creating an Art Nouveau style.

The simplest cube

Sometimes the box with your favorite board game suddenly doesn't contain a cube with dots or numbers. Don't get upset and put the game back on the shelf. Back in school we were taught to make the simplest cube out of paper or cardboard. The scheme is very simple.
